LEPROSY IN THE HOUSE

39 And the Priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;

40 Then the Priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city:” Leviticus 14:39-40

Leprosy could not be disregarded by the Priest. Patiently and graciously, the Priest would inspect the person, the garment and even the house suspected of leprosy.

In the church of Corinth leprosy was found in the house when a man had committed fornication with his father’s wife. If this man had not repented of his sin, the Apostle Paul informed the Church that they would have to dissolve the relationship with him. The stones which were infected with the plague had to be removed from the house. The leaven had to be removed in order that the entire loaf not be infected.

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is Sacrificed for us:” 1 Cor. 5:7

If the person does not repent of their sin and the infected stones are not removed, then the church has left the ways of the Lord and has chosen to go in another direction. Even though the infected house may continue to exist and even prosper, the leaven which remained…the plague of sin, will take over the entire house and the house will be set for destruction by the Lord.

Association with these unclean environments corrupts the Believer. There are many who hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches; they know Jesus is standing at the door knocking, yet they continue to stay among the leaven thinking that they will not be leavened themselves. This is a form of self righteousness because what we are indeed thinking is that we can “handle” the leaven ourselves but we can’t. If such were so, the Cross of Christ was in vain.

It took the Blood of Christ Jesus to cleanse us from the plague of sin. The world, the flesh and the devil are all formidable foes. If we think we can handle leprosy, we are dead wrong. What we need to be doing is coming out from among them and running the our High Priest for His cleansing. Looking unto Him, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will carefully inspect and remove the leaven which has infected our hearts.

Judgment begins at the House of the Lord. We cannot stay in an unclean house. Come out from among them and be ye separate. Touch not the unclean thing. Jesus stands at the door knocking.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be My Sons and Daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Cor. 6:17-18
