Because of Jesus and The Cross we now live under His Grace instead of the Law of the Old Testament. The Law was powerless to the sin nature of the flesh due to our free will. God undertook our deliverance by sending His Son and enabling us to overcome the sin nature. Jesus condemned sin and made a way for us to fulfill the righteousness of the Law by sending us His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the source of a Christian’s strength to be led by God’s righteousness.   He is the one who quickens our flesh against the sin nature. The Holy Spirit is the one sent here to help us fight! God did not leave us here to fight our own battles against evil. A soldier does not go into battle unarmed and neither does a Christian. The Lord has provided us all of the tools necessary to overcome the battle against our flesh. All of the rest of the battles belong to Him.

The devil’s goal is to distract you from focusing on what is important – God.   We have to make a conscious decision to stay focused on Jesus and be led by the Holy Spirit. When we slow down and let the Lord order our footsteps we are guaranteed the devil will stay under our feet.

NEVER belittle God’s blessings and realize as Christians we are a mouthpiece for the Lord. Everytime we declare our Christianity, then turn around and start complaining about the hand we have been dealt; we are not representing the Lord instead we are testifying for the enemy. We must be CONSTANTLY aware of who we represent. When we live like we are a child of the most High King, then He will bless us as such. If we live like we are a struck down, child of the world, we are letting the enemy stand in the way of our blessings. I DON’T CARE what the world says we are; sick, broken or poor – the Bible says we are a child of the Most High God. Decide who you believe and live like it. Jesus died to defeat Satan and give US dominion over evil.   Spit in the eye of the devil by ALWAYS glorifying the Lord and ALL of His blessings instead of the enemy and all of his cursings. Be a part of Jesus’ joy today – He will bless you for it!

II Timothy 1:6 “Wherefore I put thee in rememberance that thou stir up the gift of God”. That gift of God is the fire of God. Without the stirring that comes from the Holy Spirit which fuels the fire, our gifts are rendered useless. Every gift of the Lord is for YOU, not only for “yours” (your children, your friends, etc.). Pray for the Lord to stir that fire in you. USE the gift the Lord has given you to bless others, for that is your gift to the Lord.

Being a born again Christian does not mean you are exempt from the attacks of the enemy. Just because the devil shows up and “invites” you to the party, don’t ever think salvation has failed you. Salvation is what enables you to look the devil square in the eye, say “In Jesus name get behind me Satan” and perservere through the fire! The devil will always tempt you, try to confuse you and down right lie to you. It is not us though that the devil hates, it is our Lord Jesus Christ. To the enemy we are a pawn, we are what he uses to vex the Holy Spirit within us. When Jesus died for us on the Cross, he paid the price for all satan could ever do to us so we would never have to suffer the wages of sin. Jesus has already defeated evil on our behalf. To the Lord we are a precious child of God, made in His image, perfect in every way. There is literally no greater love than the love Jesus has for each of us. The war the enemy wages against us is hard. However, God sent His son Jesus to die on the Cross for our salvation, sent His Holy Spirit to comfort us and gave us His Word to instruct us. We already have dominion over our flesh, the world and the devil. Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you” – Praise God!

Luke 9:56 “For the Son of man has not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” Mercy will always trump religion. We are all called to be God’s channel for mercy. When we help the needy we are allowing God to use us. Instead of focusing on our neighbors shortcomings, we should focus our generosity on our neighbors NEEDS and let God meet our needs. The Christian spirit is not one of retaliation. Never retaliate on the people who the enemy is using, retaliate on the enemy by showing mercy to people who are in need and pray for them to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Thank you Lord for the gift of your Holy Spirit. Thank you for the full empowerment given, just as you gave to the disciples at Pentecost. Thank you Lord for the 9 gifts (faith, discernment, healings, miracles, knowledge, wisdom, tongues, interpretation & prophecy) that the Holy Spirit provides to us as we need them, to help guide and direct us throughout each day. The gifts of the Spirit are for each of us. They help us become even more powerful witnesses for God. Some practice in all of the gifts and others in some. We should ALL seek the fulfillment of the Holy Spirit. It’s not a denomination thing, its a Kingdom thing.

Sometimes chastisement is meant to correct us and prompt us to move to the next level with God. If we ever just wonder “why”, that’s our first mistake. Never “wonder” anything. Pray for understanding. God will give you the understanding you need. Then it is up to us to make the next move. In the mean time, while you’re waiting on your understanding, be about the Kingdom of God. Live like the child of God you are and trust that God reveals to us what we need when we need it. Pray about all things – pray without ceasing…just pray!

The power of God is beyond our comprehension. The power of the Lord is given to us to act on His behalf. “In Jesus’ name” gives us all power, authority and dominion over the enemy. The enemy is satan, not other people. Don’t get upset with others when the enemy uses them, get mad at the enemy. Furthermore, that power is given to us to do God’s will, not our own will. The power of the Lord, given to each of us at salvation, is NOT the source of our joy. The source of our joy, peace and comfort comes from the Holy Spirit. The Lord has already fought and won the battle before us and the Holy Spirit gives us the strength, wisdom and knowledge to persevere through anything the enemy presents. Only the power of the Lord can turn your curses into a blessing. Once again, I say thank you Lord for your Holy Spirit; my comforter in times of trouble, my strength to pick up my cross daily and my joy to show the world the love of Jesus. Luke 12:31 “He will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.”
