Following Jesus

Light expels darkness.

Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the Light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

We cannot follow Jesus until we deny ourselves. Our abilities, talents, intellect, etc. cannot lay claim to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit alone is commissioned to superintend the work of God in our hearts and lives when we deny ourselves and place our faith exclusively in the Cross of Christ for all the we need.

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, we are able to pick up our cross and partake in His Divine Nature.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:4

Picking up our cross is not self abasement nor an unfortunate circumstance that may occur. No. Our cross is picking up the Promises of God afforded us by the Blood of Christ; partaking in His Divine Nature and following Him. Sinners are called to believe and Believers are called to follow.

And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23

The hardest part about following the Lord is denying ourselves. Our flesh, which has been bent the sin nature that we are all born with, wants to continue in IT’s lustful ways. Much of what we blame on our sin nature is our flesh warring against a law in our mind that we have accepted as “good”.

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” Romans 7:22-23

The warring of our flesh, the flesh that has been dominated by sin for so long is real. Our intellect and will power cannot subdue the lusts of the flesh. We can’t “just say no” to our fleshly lusts and yes to a rule (law) we believe we can obey to overcome that lust. HOWEVER, we CAN say no to our vain efforts to overcome that evil desire and YES to the Cross of Christ’s dominion over sin (Romans 6:14) and choose this day to partake in God’s Divine Nature. The devil must flee when we are submitted unto God and His Prescribed Order of Victory; Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
Following Jesus, the Light of the World, expels evil desires in our hearts and lives.   Darkness cannot stand but will flee when we are submitted unto God.

By Grace Through Faith

For by Grace are you Saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10

The Grace by which we are Saved is the Grace by which sin’s power is broken. This Grace flows freely to those whose faith is in the Cross of Christ. The power of God to supply all that we need according to His riches in glory is made perfect in our weakness…it is indeed sufficient.

On Calvary’s Cross, Jesus broke the power of sin for the Believer. The Holy Spirit superintends His workmanship in our hearts and creates in us a new man; this new man who God has before ordained unto good works is now able to partake in God’s Divine Nature and walk in precepts of God.

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9 For in Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And you are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power:

11 In Whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried with Him in baptism (Romans 6:3-5), wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead.” Colossians 2:8-12

This circumcision without hands is the ministry of the Holy Spirit working in our hearts creating in us a new creature in Christ Jesus. Buried with Jesus in the Baptism of His Death, we are made alive unto God.

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were Baptized into His Death?

4 Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:3-4

By Grace are we Saved through faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. By Grace are we Sanctified through faith in the Son of God.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14

This dominion over sin freely given under the finished work of Christ Jesus (Grace) through faith is afforded by Jesus, commissioned by God and superintended by the Holy Spirit. This is a supernatural experience that cannot be done by self will, intellect or natural ability. We are HIS workmanship created unto good works and not our own.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

ALL THINGS

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Luke 16:13

Many who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour for Salvation turn right around and deem the Cross of Christ as insufficient for their Sanctification.  Presented with humanistic psychology to overcome that which the Word of God has declared as sin, they sincerely and zealously go forth serving another master.

According as His Divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:3-4

We either believe that the Lord has given us all things that pertain unto life and holiness or we believe the philosophies of psychology to give us all things that pertain unto life and holiness but we can’t believe both.

Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross that we may have all things that pertain to life and holiness.  It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to circumcise our heart and remove that which is unpleasing to God…NOT rehabilitate the old but create in us a NEW heart; one that desires to partake in God’s Divine Nature having escaped the corruption of this world.  Hating the old and loving the newness of life afforded us through the Cross of Christ, we stand…stand in His glory, not our own.  Our weaknesses are no longer denied but recognized and His strength made perfect as the power of Christ rests upon us.  It is the moving and operation of the Holy Ghost Who is superintending the work of God in our hearts as we look unto the Cross of Christ for all that we need pertaining unto life and holiness.  Precept upon precept and line upon line, our faith is authored and will soon be finished when our faith becomes sight and we behold the Lord Jesus Christ.

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17

ALL Scripture, not some, is given by inspiration of God.  We either believe this to be true or we believe this to be a lie.  We cannot serve two gods.  Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

“But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Gal. 5:22-23

It is the “Fruit”, not fruits and this Fruit is of the Spirit, not man. Such fruit manifests as we are led by the Spirit of God IN Christ Jesus.

Led by the flesh, we vainly attempt obedience to laws in order to produce fruit. Knowing what we should do and how we should be, our members war against the law of our minds to do that which is good and brings us into captivity to the law of sin.

“But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Romans 7:23-24

Led of the flesh and under law, we produce fruit unto death…spiritual death as our sin nature once again begins to reign in our heart.

“25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death.

3 For what the Law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 7:25-8:4

The Holy Spirit is given latitude to produce His Fruit in us and superintend all things according to God and Holiness when we are submitted unto God. We can only be submitted unto God when we are IN Christ Jesus, baptized into HIS Death (Romans 6:4) for the penalty of sin to be paid (Salvation) and the power of sin to be broken (Sanctification). Then and only then is the righteousness of the Law fulfilled and we are afforded the ability to partake in God’s Divine Nature. This is the Power of God to us who are saved. The Cross of Christ, be determined to know nothing else.

Where is the Lamb?

ATTACK ON THE ATONEMENT
The word of faith’s doctrine of the Atonement is pure fiction of which no one can be Saved. I’m speaking to you my Pentecostal and Charismatic friends who are sitting under this teaching and any others who believe the lie of Jesus died spiritually. You have believed another Jesus and another gospel and it is accursed.
This attack on the Atonement claims that the death of Jesus or the “past miseries” was the greatest defeat in human history. Their belief that Jesus died, went to the burning side of hell where He was tortured for 3 days and nights before God said “It is enough” and then raised Him from the dead is a philosophy of man being taught as biblical doctrine. Such fictional teachings declare Jesus was born again in Hell. This is not mere semantics but a matter of understanding the difference in the reality of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and Him crucified and the fictional story of Jesus Christ born again in hell. As previously stated, one cannot be born again believing this lie but have been deceived into a false sense of Salvation.
“4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.” Genesis 22:4-8
Where is the Lamb my word of faith friends? Where is the Lamb Who was slain?
“The next day John sees Jesus coming unto him, and says, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29
Without a proper understanding of the Atonement, there is no Sacrifice for sin. God provided Himself a Lamb in Jesus Christ. To reject His Sacrifice on Calvary’s Cross and accept a fictitious story of a made up fight in hell to rally the cheerleaders is an attack on the Atonement and makes one an enemy of the Cross.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” Philippians 3:18-19
Where is the Lamb? Without the Lamb; the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, there is no sacrifice for sin.
