“No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Luke 16:13
Many who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour for Salvation turn right around and deem the Cross of Christ as insufficient for their Sanctification. Presented with humanistic psychology to overcome that which the Word of God has declared as sin, they sincerely and zealously go forth serving another master.
“3 According as His Divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:3-4
We either believe that the Lord has given us all things that pertain unto life and holiness or we believe the philosophies of psychology to give us all things that pertain unto life and holiness but we can’t believe both.
Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross that we may have all things that pertain to life and holiness. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to circumcise our heart and remove that which is unpleasing to God…NOT rehabilitate the old but create in us a NEW heart; one that desires to partake in God’s Divine Nature having escaped the corruption of this world. Hating the old and loving the newness of life afforded us through the Cross of Christ, we stand…stand in His glory, not our own. Our weaknesses are no longer denied but recognized and His strength made perfect as the power of Christ rests upon us. It is the moving and operation of the Holy Ghost Who is superintending the work of God in our hearts as we look unto the Cross of Christ for all that we need pertaining unto life and holiness. Precept upon precept and line upon line, our faith is authored and will soon be finished when our faith becomes sight and we behold the Lord Jesus Christ.
“16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
ALL Scripture, not some, is given by inspiration of God. We either believe this to be true or we believe this to be a lie. We cannot serve two gods. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
