UNDER GRACE

The Fall of Adam is the original sin. All who are born of water (natural child birth) are born under this original sin. The corresponding result of Adam’s original sin is sickness, physical death and all manner of wickedness which can overtake mankind. This is the sin nature born in us because of Adam’s Fall. From Adam’s children to now, all who were born of man are born with a sin nature.

To be sure, Jesus Christ was not born of man but of the Spirit of God. He was and is God manifest in the flesh Who came to die to pay the penalty of sin for the believing sinner AND break the power of sin for the believing Saint. The problem today is that not too many Saints choose to believe upon Him for dominion over their sin nature which continues to dwell in all who are born of water and their sin nature continues to have dominion over their lives.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the Law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14

The vain philosophies of man taught as Biblical doctrine have left so many in the church spiritually defeated. Tired and desperate, they continue in the only thing they know to depend upon in this hour of darkness….their willpower, abilities, intellect, etc.. Living under law, any law for deliverance of the sin nature’s dominion, they continue fighting. Refusing to fight the good fight of faith in the Cross of Christ, they keep fighting to gain dominion over sin.

There is but one answer to sin and that is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. It is there that whosoever will believe is freely given freedom from the sin nature and it’s corresponding results (sickness, wickedness, etc.). We cannot earn this victory for the victory belongs to Jesus…not us. Looking unto Him to author and finish our faith, evil must flee under the power of God. The Righteousness of God expels wickedness while the self righteousness of man is the result of wickedness.

The dominion over our sin nature is witnessed by it’s corresponding results, the Fruit of the Spirit. One whose faith is in the vain philosophies of man cannot produce fruit unto God but only unto death. You will know them by their fruit…especially their out of season fruit. When it seems they should be shaken they are praising. When it seems they should be fearful they are rejoicing. When they should be mad they have peace. When they should be fighting, they have rest. Their out of season fruit sets them apart. They don’t have to fake it until they make it because they have made it. They are DETERMINED to know nothing else among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. They have witnessed the power of the Holy Ghost and cannot be dismayed.

This that “they” have is for ALL if we will simply choose this day in whom we are going to believe and recognize that His Work on Calvary’s Cross is sufficient for the day. His Grace which flows uninterrupted as we look unto Him chases us down and overtakes us when the storm clouds appear. We are indeed a peculiar people amongst the world but as scroll through my Facebook feed and look to my family and friends, I am indeed thankful that I am surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses unto Jesus Christ.

Sin shall NOT have dominion over me because I am under Grace. Today, His Grace will be sufficient just as it has every other day. He has not changed.

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

WHY ARE YOU FEARFUL?

“23 And when He was entered into a ship, His Disciples followed Him.

24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but He was asleep.

25 And His Disciples came to Him, and awoke Him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

26 And He said unto them, Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” Matthew 8:23-26

The Disciples who followed Jesus into the ship had to first deny themselves. Some where fisherman, some were doctors and others accountants but they had to first deny their intellectual abilities; their knowledge of the worldly system in order to pick up their cross (the ability to be called His Disciple) and follow Jesus.

Once they had done all of this, the storms began to rage causing them to depend on their intellectual abilities to survive the storm. This is where many Believers are today. We have laid our cross down and have decided to depend on instead of deny our abilities, intellect and talents.

Jesus is still in the boat but we haven’t called upon His Name as we maneuver through the storm. He’s patiently waiting; He’s watching for our hearts to turn back to Him. He and He alone can calm the storms. At Calvary, He laid waste death, hell and the grave. The penalty of sin was paid and the power of sin broken when Jesus Christ uttered the words “It is Finished”. The Born Again Believer has the Savior of the world in our boat. Call on Him.

“23 And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:23-24

SINKING SAND

“24 Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that hears these sayings of Mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24-27

The houses looked the same to the naked eye. It wasn’t until the storms came, and come they will, that the foundations began to wash away.

The stone that the builder’s built their foundation on was another Jesus and another gospel. If not for the Word of God and spiritual discernment, many would have not recognized the difference in these 2 houses and those who did recognize have been calling their Brethren out from among them. They having ears to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches, have heard Him on the outside of these houses knocking.

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but My Father which is in Heaven.

18 And I say also unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock (the revelation of Jesus Christ) I will build My Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:16-18

If our foundation is not built upon the revelation of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, the very corner stone of which the builder’s rejected, our foundation is being washed out from under us.

Church, playtime is over. It’s time to get back to our First Love, Jesus Christ. He’s standing at the door knocking. His still, small voice remains calling but the storms have you distracted. Be still and hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches. Come out from among them and be ye separate. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. He’s coming soon! Your wick may be trimmed but your lamp has no oil. He’s calling you to a higher calling.

THE STRAIT GATE

13 Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

Religion will claim it’s on the narrow path while walking the wide path. The religious do not enter in through the “strait gate” but climbs up some other way.

1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

2 But he who enters in by the door is the Shepherd of the Sheep.

3 To Him the porter opens; and the sheep hear His Voice: and He calls His own sheep by name, and leads them out.

4 And when He puts forth His own sheep, He goes before them, and the sheep follow Him: for they know His Voice.” John 10:1-4

Jesus is the door by which we enter into the straight gate. At Calvary Jesus Christ paid the price for our entrance if we so choose to enter God’s great Salvation plan. Jesus, Who He is and what HE did, afforded the believing sinner Salvation and the believing Saint Sanctification. He paid the penalty of sin and broke the power of sin.

The finished work of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is a two fold work. He Saves us and wants to Sanctify us. The problem is too many Believers get swept to and fro in religious rites after their Salvation and no longer enter in through the strait gate, the Cross of Christ, for their Sanctification but through the religious gate filled with sanctimonious ceremonies and vain philosophies to live a victorious Christian life.

To be clear, when the Believer accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, we are Justified in the eyes of God. That is our position. However, our condition this side of Glory is what the Holy Spirit is commissioned to superintend AS LONG as we continue entering in through the strait gate, the Door…the Cross of Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit lusts to envy (James 4:5), He is jealous over those things we take to the religious rites to overcome because He is not commissioned to give the victory to religious rites but to Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Such is why the Holy Spirit will always and without fail point you to the Cross of Christ. It is there that He (the Holy Spirit) is commissioned to do the work of God in our hearts and lives. It is there, the Cross of Christ, that we will receive all that we need.

The Cross of Christ Jesus IS the narrow path. It IS the strait gate; the door of which we enter into life and life more abundantly. HE IS the Way, the Truth and the Life because of what HE did for whosoever will believe.

Today is the day of Salvation for the believing sinner and it is the day of Sanctification for the believing Saint. Sin shall not have dominion over the Believer if we purposefully place our faith in the Cross of Christ and not our own abilities. Denying our self we are able to walk to narrow path and follow Jesus. Only then will we be able hear His Voice. Be Still and hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches in this hour. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Walk the narrow path.

POSITION OF PRESUMPTION

The position of presumption will without fail leave the Believer in a place which the Lord can never honor. God has a purpose for each every person born of water (child birth) but sadly far too many take the wide path. They do not grow up knowing the ways of the Lord according to the Bible and for those who do, far too many cast the precepts of God aside as our feelings and vain philosophies become our moral code.

Presumption assumes the Lord will bless us even as we are not in His Will. Presumption assumes a “yes and amen” even though God’s answer is no. To be sure, if the Lord brings you to it, He will certainly bring you through it but for many our self will, talent, ambition, intellect, etc. has brought us there. The devil came to steak, kill and destroy and we ran off chasing satan’s purpose. With our faith in the carrot dangled in front of us, our faith in the Cross of Christ deteriorates. We no longer are looking to Jesus Christ and Him crucified as the Source and the means by which receive the “yes and amen” from God but to the carrot, whatever the carrot may be, and fully expect a “well done” when we finally conquer the carrot.

My friend, that’s not how God works. That’s how the world works but not the Lord.

For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20

ALL of the Promises of God are conditional but not on our ability to gain them via our obedience. That my friend is called ambition, not faith. The Promises of God “in Him”, IN JESUS, are yes and amen. There will be no carrot dangling but a peace, a peace beyond all understanding as we look unto the Cross of Christ and rest. His Yoke IS light.

Beware of the position of presumption. That’s the devil’s will, not God’s. The fruit of presumption is arrogance and self righteousness which leads to death…spiritual death. The fruit of faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified, leads to peace beyond all understanding…even as the storms of this world toss our ships to and fro.

It is IN CHRIST that the Believer’s blessings are yes and amen. It is IN CHRIST that we are made free from the Law of Sin and Death by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is IN CHRIST and CHRIST alone, that we will cross that Jordan river on dry ground. The Holy Spirit is not commissioned to superintend the work of God in our heart when our faith is placed in another source or another means to receive from God. It is Jesus Christ and Him crucified or it is sinking sand. Choose Jesus. His Blood was and is and will forever be enough.

AND YOU SHALL CALL HIS NAME JESUS

And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name JESUS: for He shall Save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross to Save WHOSOEVER will believe upon Him from their sins. At Calvary, Jesus paid the penalty of sin for the believing sinner and He broke the power of sin for the believing Saint.

The problem is that there are not many Saints who believe in the power of the Cross for victory over sin and commence on their own path, a path of self will and philosophies from the vanities of man’s own mind, for victory over the sin which so easily besets them.

Sadly, the Cross of Christ is foolishness to the unbelieving Saint and they are perishing. Their faith is on a path of destruction because they detoured from the narrow path of believing in Jesus as the Source and His Cross the means by which they receive everything from God. If you ask them they will staunchly tell you they believe in Jesus Christ and Him crucified and that is true…they do believe in Him for Salvation but they have unknowingly and unintentionally believed upon something else for their Sanctification. No longer are they being washed in the Word of God but in the word of man which is being taught as Biblical doctrine.

17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are Saved it is the power of God. ” 1 Corinthians 1:17-18

There is life and life more abundantly in the Cross of Christ…spiritual life that cannot be discerned by the unbeliever and by unbeliever I’m speaking of the unbelieving sinner as should be obvious but I am also speaking of the unbelieving Saint. Our faith is authored and finished by Jesus Christ and God gives the increase as we deny ourselves daily, pick up our cross and follow Jesus. This is the peace beyond all understanding. This is the joy unspeakable. This is the rest for the Believer…to simply believe the Cross of Christ is sufficient for all of our needs according to His riches in glory. Look to Jesus. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Look and live!

JUDGE NOT

“1 Judge not, that you be not judged.

2 For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why behold you the mote that is in your brother’s eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye?

4 Or how will you say to your Brother, Let me pull out the mote out of your eye; and, behold, a beam is in your own eye?

5 You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the mote out of your Brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:1-5
For many, this is the only Scripture they know and are infamous for using it out of context. Please allow me a moment to give you exactly what this Scripture is referring to, namely the Scripture just prior to Matthew 7:1.
Matthew 6:25-34:
“25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:25-34.
We (Christians) are quick to declare “Judge not” while turning our eyes to our fellow Christians judging their circumstances as God’s wrath. Job’s friends are a dime a dozen. We need to stop looking unto our Brethren and determining their blessings or their lack of blessings is due to some hidden sin or their consecration unto the Lord. Allow me to remind us all, the Lord blessed the Israelites in the wilderness in spite of their rebellion. Ultimately an entire generation of Israelites were eternally lost as they perished in the wilderness but until they drew their last breath the Lord blessed them. Did they die lost? Sadly, yes. However, their time in the wilderness was to draw them nearer to the Lord but they refused and sought other ways.
Be careful of judging your Brethren. We do not know what the Lord is doing in their hearts and lives but we do know that whatever it is, that it is for their good and WE will be judged by the way we treated them during their test of faith. God remembered how the Israelites were treated in the wilderness by others and He judged them…not Israel.
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24
The Christian is supposed to judge righteously according to the Word of God. If a Brother or Sister is overtaken by sin, pray with them and for them. We are given God’s Word and He has already determined what is sin and if it’s sin according to the Word of God, realize it and get on your knees and PRAY for them!!
There is victory, spiritual victory, in the Cross of Christ Jesus but many have their eyes on the circumstances of others which is destroying their very own spiritual victory. Look to Calvary. Remember from whence you came, recognize where you are and know in Whom you have believed. The Lord has made a way for YOU but many have been distracted by the circumstances of others and our lamps have gone dry. Our wicks are trimmed but our lamps dry.
We thought we had “graduated” but the Lord has led us back to the wilderness for more. Get Ready! Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified…the wilderness awaits.

TAKING NO THOUGHT FOR THE MORROW

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:31-34

Sufficient unto the day is the evil. We need not worry about tomorrow’s evil. We, as Believers, must understand that God’s Grace is sufficient. The world doesn’t have this hope therefore they preach fear and hate which is a contagion to the Believer if we do not capture those thoughts that exalt themselves above what the Lord says.

Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross to pay the penalty of sin for the believing sinner AND break the power of sin for the Believer. Fear is a sin but it will come knocking. It’s what we do with the fear when it shows up on our doorstep that matters. Do we look to it? Does it author our faith depending on the day? NO!

26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:26-28

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fear the Lord, not man. His Grace IS sufficient for the day. His Yoke IS easy and His burden light. SANCTIFY the Lord in your heart and always be ready to give an answer to anyone who ask you the reason for your hope.

9 And He said unto me, My Grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

His Grace is sufficient. The power of Christ will rest upon whosoever will believe upon Him for everything that they need from God. Jesus is the Source and His Cross is the means by which we receive God’s Grace and it will flow uninterrupted as long as we continue looking unto Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Be determined to know nothing else among you!

DIVIDED ALLEGIANCE

It’s impossible to give a divided allegiance. We cannot lay up our treasures on earth AND in Heaven. We are all just passing through this world. The mortal tent of which we dwell is decaying and if the Lord tarries, it will return to dust.

It is indeed easy to get caught up in the things of this world. The storms which rage around us are there to distract or to build our faith. The results depend on us.

If we look unto Jesus, He will author and finish our faith. The faith which was given us upon Salvation. That mustard seed that grows into a tree of righteousness if we will only believe….even in the storms, BELIEVE.

If we look unto the storms and become distracted with the storms; with the wickedness and perilous times that are upon us, we will drown. All of our principles and our nature will be the fruit of the storm; of wickedness. We will become a carnal Christian who is at enmity with God.

Look unto Jesus; Who HE is and what HE has done. He has redeemed whosoever will believe upon Him and He is perfectly capable of keeping (possessing) whosoever continues to believe upon Him. As a Believer, we are bought with a price…a high price. It is the Blood of Jesus who sets us free from not only the “physical sins” that we can witness with our eyes but the inward sins that harden our heart. The fear, anger and bitterness which can so easily beset the Believer and cause us to be at enmity with God.

“19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

Keep pressing toward the high mark of the calling of the Lord Jesus. Lay up your treasures with Him, Who He is and what He’s done which gives the Holy Spirit latitude to circumcise your heart; to remove those things which are not pleasing to God and give you the desires of your heart which are according to HIS Will and HIS Ways. Today is the day. Yesterday is gone. Deny yourself, pick up all the Jesus Christ has afforded you and GO…follow Him; be determined to know nothing else!

MORAL CHARACTERISTICS

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the Kingdom of God.” 1 Cor. 6:9-10

When the believing sinner is Born Again, when we are created a new creature IN Jesus Christ, we take on the moral characteristics of the Kingdom of God. Old things pass away and all things become new because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our heart.

Our sin nature which ruled and reigned our heart is isolated by the power of the Holy Spirit because our faith was placed in the Cross of Christ. The Grace of God flows uninterrupted as long as our faith remains in Jesus Christ and Him crucified for ALL that we receive from God.

For some, they have been told the their sin is acceptable in the Kingdom of God. They have been told that their drinking, their homosexuality, their living with their boyfriend/girlfriend is perfectly fine but this is simply not so. These things are not the moral characteristics of the Kingdom of God but of the world and it’s system. Don’t be deceived.

The Spirit of God will draw whosoever wills to believe upon the Cross of Christ closer to holiness and righteousness if that is what they seek. You will know them by their fruit.

But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Seek Him and you will find Him. Choose this day to deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow Him. Forsake the religious traditions and vain philosophies and be determined to know nothing else among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Souls are at stake. Because you go under the banner of Christianity, the world has it’s eyes on you. Are you representing the morality of the Kingdom of God or bringing reproach?

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
