“15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” Matthew 7:15-16
False prophets are known by their fruit. Do they gatherer adulterers and fornicators? Do they give the people a license to sin? Do they offer idols? Those self help methods cloaked in Scripture causing the congregation to put themselves on the pedestal of idolatry. Even the church itself can become an idol and will serve to support the false teacher promoting their false gospel.
Witchcraft – yes, witchcraft is rampant in the modern church however, because it’s incantations seek to manipulate the righteous spirit world instead of the evil, people don’t recognize it as witchcraft.
Murderers who may not physically murder another but won’t think twice about the murder of another’s character.
“19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21
The Fruit of the Spirit is not taught but produced. It is produced by the Spirit of God working in our hearts to produce fruit unto God. The ministry of the Holy Spirit discerns the intents of the heart and cuts asunder that which is not pleasing unto God…that which is not of faith in Jesus as the Source and His Cross as the means by which we receive from God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The Word of God, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 points to the Cross of Christ Jesus. The Word of God is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness and It will do what It is intended to do when rightly divided.
“17 Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.” Matthew 7:17-20
As we who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ look unto Him, Who HE is and what HE has done to break the power of sin in our lives, we give the Holy Spirit latitude to do that which He is commissioned to do…produce fruit unto God so that Jesus Christ may be glorified. God’s Plan of Sanctification works just as well as His Plan of Salvation because it is the SAME PLAN – Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” John 12:32
When the Cross of Christ is lifted up among the people, He will draw all men unto Him…the sinner and the Saints are both drawn unto holiness and righteousness; the sinner for Salvation and the Saint for Sanctification.
“22 But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Judge the fruit before aligning with a ministry. Who is being lifted up and what are they being drawn to? If it’s not Jesus Christ and Him crucified, it is fruit unto death.
