Discerning the Gourd

Jonah gourdAnd the Lord God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.

But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered.

And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.” Jonah 4:6-8

God sent Jonah to call Nineveh to repentance and they turned from their evil ways. Upon Nineveh’s repentance, God repented of the evil He had said He would do unto them (Jonah 3:10).  Man’s repentance is the result of love and guilt of their wrong doing.  God’s repentance is a result of love and pity.

Once Nineveh repented and God withdrew His wrath, Jonah went out of the city and pouted hoping to see Nineveh yet to be destroyed for their evil of which they had repented but destruction never came.  While Jonah was pouting, the Lord prepared a gourd to come up over Jonah’s head to shade him and he was exceedingly glad.

Not only did the Lord prepare the gourd, he also prepared a worm to destroy the gourd and a vehement east wind and the sun then beat upon the head of Jonah and he wished to die.

While Nineveh celebrated their blessing, Jonah pouted.  While Jonah pouted, God prepared…prepared to give and prepared to take away from Jonah.  God gave him shade and God took away his shade.  God’s mercy gives and God’s mercy takes away.  Jonah did not understand God’s pity on Nineveh upon their repentance; yet Jonah had pity on the gourd and was angry when it perished.

And God said to Jonah, Do you well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.

10 Then said the Lord, you have had pity on the gourd, for the which you have not labored, neither made it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:

11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?” Jonah 4:9-10

God’s pity understood Nineveh’s utter lack of discernment and His mercy called them to repentance.  Sadly, there are many today who do not understand God’s pity on those with lack of discernment and would rather see them perish than repent. If their call to repentance was met with an actual turning away from evil, they would not understand God’s pity but only His judgement.

Sometimes God will prepare us a gourd while we pout, so we will understand pity when He prepares that worm to take it away. Jonah could have been rejoicing with the Ninevites but instead he chose to pout.  Discern the gourd when it perishes. Seek understanding.  God gives and God takes away…blessed be the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Midst of the Congregation

Proverbs 5

For the lips of a strange woman (false doctrine) drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

Lest you should ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that you can not know them.

Hear me now therefore, O you children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

Remove your way far from her (strange woman), and come not near the door of her house: Lest you give your honor unto others, and your years unto the cruel: 10 Lest strangers be filled with your wealth; and your labors be in the house of a stranger; 11 And you mourn at the last, when your flesh and your body are consumed, 12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; 13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.” Proverbs 5:7-14

There are many who have attended churches that they really enjoyed.  They loved the people and the people sincerely loved Jesus. They taught Jesus but separated Him from the Cross. Their doctrine was almost right but it is that “almost” that leavens the whole lump; the poison that steals, kills and destroys the seed of Truth that has been planted deep down in our soul.  A Jesus without His Cross is another Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:4). This Jesus is presented for Who He is, the only begotten Son of God, and set as an example for the people to follow.  However the means given to follow this Jesus is a form of humanistic psychology; a vain philosophy which appeals to intellect and invokes self will to overcome that which is hindering one from living for God as they ought to be living for God.  That little bit of leaven leads to a whole lot of failure because the Gospel given to the people is not Jesus Christ as the Source and His Cross the means for our daily living for God; God’s Prescribed order for our victory, not man’s.

As for myself, there were times that I wanted so desperately to be a part of a church that I thought maybe the Lord sent me here to make a difference in some small way.  That was really my excuse; it was the leaven that puffs up, as I’m sure you too can see the self righteousness in that statement.  Remember, false doctrine is like a honeycomb and smoother than oil (vs. 3).  Her ways are moveable that you cannot know them (vs. 6).

The Scripture instructs us to remove our ways far from false doctrine and come not near the door of the house of false doctrine.  Again, she is smoother than oil and her ways are moveable…we cannot know them all.  This strange woman seduces the Believer and we give her honor and fill her with the wealth of our tithes and offerings. We labor and toil in her house with our dead works and completely disregard the doctrine that seemed “almost” right.

21 Not every one that says unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that does the Will of My Father which is in Heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name? and in Your Name have cast out devils? and in Your Name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

Doing many wonderful works in the Name of Jesus is not a requirement to enter the Kingdom of God but the strange woman will exalt such works because they appeal to the flesh.

Sadly, many sincere Believers lose their way because of false doctrine.  “In the midst of the congregation and assembly” is the devil’s greatest playing field because of what is being taught from behind the pulpit.  Many do not want the Truth because the Truth would cause them to recognize their fig leaves for what they are and expose their religion as false.  It is not God’s Will for His Children to make the strange woman wealthy and labor in her house.  It is God’s Will for us to learn of Him, Who He is and what He has done on Calvary’s Cross to pay the penalty of sin for the sinner and break the power of sin for the Believer and HE will author and finish our faith; HE will order our footsteps and our work will be profitable for His Kingdom.

29 Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For My Yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:29-30

Come not near the door of false religion…it’s the devil’s playing field.

Consider Yourself

Gal 6 1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.” Galatians 6:1

How often do we, those who profess to be spiritual, restore a Brother or Sister overtaken in a fault? Are we attempting to restore them in the spirit of meekness or are we offering a form of lip service while seeking to further hinder them in their fallen state? In reality, are we puffed up and yet to mourn them who have been overtaken and considered that they may be taken from among us?

And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken away from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:2

If we stop judging an unrepentant Brother and Sister overtaken in a fault according to their apparent circumstances but begin judging them righteously (John 7:24), the result will be mourning because we understand that they may be taken from among us and delivered unto satan for the destruction of the flesh that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know you not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?” 1 Corinthians 5:5-6

Satan is God’s instrument of chastisement for the rebellious Saint who won’t deny their own flesh and must be turned over to satan for the destruction of their flesh. Those who are spiritual will earnestly contend for the faith of the Brethren, the Christian values according to the Word of God, and attempt to restore such a one by calling them to repentance. We mourn from the depths of our soul that they may be taken from among us. We are not puffed up but recognize our own frailty.

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” Galatians 4:16

Be careful not to further hinder a Child of God in their fallen state by judging what you see with the carnal eye. With what judgement we judge, we shall be judged (Matthew 7:2). When we judge righteously, those who are spiritual will consider the outcome of a rebellious and unrepentant heart. Jesus Christ paid a high price for the Child of God to be free from the power of sin. To see a Child of God overtaken with sin and unrepentant, those who are spiritual will mourn and pray for their faith…pray that it fail them not when satan is allowed to them as wheat (Luke 22:31).

The spiritual will stand flat footed, shoulders squared and call the backslidden to repentance.  Not being puffed up and executing further judgement and punishment according to denominational or other man made rules but restoring them in a spirit of meekness lest they be taken from among us for lack of repentance.

13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Galatians 6:13-14

Do not glory in the flesh.  If not for the Cross of Jesus Christ, we too would be law breakers worthy of sin’s dominion and a devil’s hell.

Consecrated Believers

AConsecratedLife_MediaPlayerSatan’s influence in any given area is decided by the number of consecrated Believers; not ambitious Believers but consecrated Believers who are faithful to God’s calling on their life no matter the circumstances. Believers who know God’s Voice, seek His Will and faithfully follow Him. They study to show themselves approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed because they have rightly divided the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the Truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

3 But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Corinthians 4:1-4

Irrespective of what NAR, the Government of Twelve and the Seven Mountains heresies claim, the Church is not going to usher in the Kingdom Age as they teach…just read the Book of Revelation to see that error.

However, satan’s work is greatly hindered when the fervent prayers of the righteous are lifted up as sweet aroma unto God because of their faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s Cross. Consecrated Saints in any given area can roll back the tides of darkness when they know in Whom they have believed and look unto Jesus to author and finish their faith.

There are many ambitious Saints who want to take the devil by the horns and curse the darkness according to their own power and sincere ambition while never understanding the ministers encouraging their fight are being led by the very devil they are wanting to curse. They don’t recognize him because he doesn’t have horns and a red cape but appears as an angel of light whose ministers are transformed as ministers of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

Satan is the god of this worldly system but it’s dominion in this world is directly effected by the consecrated Believers in a particular area. You can have the largest apostate church in the area across the street from a small, little home church who have gone to the well and drank of the water of life freely (John 4:9-14) and that little home church will have more effect on the powers of darkness than the religious masses performing all of their wonderful works across the street.

How? Because they are looking to the power of God as the Source and the means of which the gates of Heaven are opened and their blessings poured out…they are looking to the Cross of Christ and determined to know nothing else.

For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

Spirit of Babylon

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water (natural child birth) and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:5-6

The Babylonian spirit is nestled quite comfortably in the modern church.  She leads the carnal Christians and the unredeemed down many roads to victory over the world, the flesh and the devil.  In her is found corrupted gospels designed to seduce the unlearned into her methods of salvation and sanctification.  None of which have paid the penalty for sin or can break the power of sin but offer a false salvation to the unredeemed and comfort them in their bondage.

Because of man’s unredeemed state,  we cannot come in to the Kingdom of God but by the Spirit of God.  Jesus Christ is the Source and His Cross the means by which we are redeemed unto God.  HE is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no man comes to God but by Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

This spirit of Babylon is never offended unless the Cross of Christ is given as her plumb line and her works are quickly laid waste.  Religion is ensconced in the Babylonian spirit.  Sadly, most denominations are seated deep in religion and are too often hindered from the simplicity of the full Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified by their denominational doctrines. The Cross of Christ strips away self efforts, exposes the religion which attempts to espouse the Believer to another jesus and is an offense to those who have been seduced by Babylon herself.

The simplicity in Christ causes the religious to stumble and the world to render as foolishness.  The Child of God who is grounded in Christ Jesus by simple faith in His redeeming work for all that they need, confounds the Babylonian spirit causing her to flee.

The Redeemed of the Lord will stand still because Jesus Christ has gone out before us and won our battle.  We know in Whom we have believed and have rendered Him more than sufficient and worthy of our praise.  The only fight we are commissioned to fight is the fight of faith…faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  We are not to be swept to and fro by the spirit of Babylon offering us silver and gold.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2

Recognize the Babylonian spirit by her offense to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Frustrating Grace

Gal 237 Jesus said unto him, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great Commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

40 On these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”  Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus Christ is the Source of all things we receive from God and the Cross is His means by which He gives us these things.  This is God’s Prescribed order… not a vain philosophy derived from humanistic psychology to motivate the Believer into 40 days of purpose to live their best life now or a sanctimonious ceremony which leads to a form of righteousness called self righteousness.

Upon these two Commandments given by Jesus Christ Himself, love the Lord your God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself,  hangs all the law and the prophets.  It is by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done, that the Believer gives the Holy Spirit latitude to keep the Commandments through us.  The Holy Spirit superintends all that needs to be done in the heart of the Believer when our faith is placed exclusively in the Cross of Christ…this is a spiritual law.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2

The unredeemed man cannot love God with all their hearts.  We do not have the power to love God and willingly submit unto Him without the power of the Holy Spirit isolating our sin nature and freeing us from the law of sin and death.  Through faith in Jesus Christ (the Source) and Him crucified (the means), the Holy Spirit is commissioned to superintend these two Commandments given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sadly, because of ignorance or unbelief, religious man will quickly turn these Commandments into a law and devise man made methods which appeal to one’s intellect or flesh as a means to keep these Commandments.  These methods only serve to dethrone the Holy Spirit’s ministry because they have in fact rendered the Cross of Christ (God’s Prescribed Order) as insufficient and sought man’s prescribed order.  The Believer is easily deceived because it is a religious method cloaked with Scripture twisted to fit the philosophy.

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” Galatians 2:16-21

Beware of religious methods sincerely given, but nevertheless sincerely wrong, which remove the ministry of the Holy Spirit to superintend God’s Prescribed Order of Grace through faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified and replace with their own methods for victory in daily living.  Do not frustrate the Grace of God.

Before the Foundation of the World

Foundation of the world

18 Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,” 1 Peter 1:18-20

God’s Prescribed Order for victory over death, hell and the grave was foreordained before the foundation of the world.  Whether we accept God’s Prescribed Order for our eternal Salvation (John 3:16) and dominion over our sin nature for daily living (Romans 6:14) is between us and God, the God of the Bible…not the god of this worldly system, satan, who corrupts Truth with lies in his attempt to kill, steal and destroy God’s highest creation.

Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, came to die on Calvary’s Cross to redeem fallen man.  Our Redemption through the Blood of Christ, as a Lamb without blemish, affords the believing sinner eternal Salvation and the believing Saint victory over the sin that so easily besets them…THIS is God’s Prescribed Order, not some vain philosophy presented by satan’s ministers of righteousness who minister death to the Body of Christ.  Let me be clear, if the pulpit is not ministering life, which is Jesus Christ as the Source and His Cross the means by which the Child of God has power over sin, they are ministering death.

The problem with the modern church is they have concluded God’s Prescribed Order for victory over our sin nature (Grace, Romans 6:14) as insufficient and presented vain philosophies for victorious Christian living.  Tragically, as the defeated Saint is swept to and fro with every wind of doctrine in their many sincere attempts to overcome besetting sin, many lose their way.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2

The Holy Spirit only works within the parameters of Jesus Christ and Him crucified which IS the power of God unto us who are saved (1 Corinthians 1:18).   Our faith continually and exclusively in the Cross of Christ allows the Holy Spirit latitude to do that which He is commissioned to do…free us from the law of sin and death.  Old things fall away and all things become new as we reckon ourselves free from sin and alive unto God (Romans 6:11).  Through this faith in the Cross of Christ, we can now partake in God’s Divine Nature (2 Peter 1:4) and no longer be ruled by the sin nature of which we were born with due to Adam’s fall.

The unredeemed man cannot willingly yield unto God because they are ruled by satan under the law of sin and death.  These vain philosophies and man made traditions presented from the pulpits for victory over sin do not have the power to free the Believer from the law of sin and death.  If such were so, the Cross of Christ was in vain. God forbid, No!

Sadly man Believers readily accept man’s way of victory and through ignorance or unbelief, they declare the Cross of Christ as insufficient.  They would fervently deny such but their actions speak differently.  Learn God’s Prescribed Order which was foreordained before the foundation of the world…Jesus Christ and Him crucified, be determined to know nothing else.

Judge Not

stop-saying-judge-notJudge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Matthew 7:1-2

Judge not, that you be not judged.” does not mean relaying what the Word of God has declared sin is judging another.  We cannot judge sin.  Sin has been judged and the penalty is death.  Either we repent of our sin and accept the atoning work of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s Cross as our Sin Offering unto God, which is God’s ONLY plan of Salvation, or we don’t.  If we don’t, we will die the second death and be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity (Revelation 20:14-15).

To be clear, accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior requires the lost realizing they are a sinner in need of a Savior.  Once the gates of hell close on the lost sinner after death, they are closed for all of eternity.  This is the danger of the Roman Catholic’s doctrine of “purgatory”.  No where in Scripture is purgatory or any concept of purgatory mentioned.  Salvation is this side of death.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:25-34

Judge not, that you be not judged.” harkens back to the previous verses just prior to Matthew 7:1 and refers to Believers judging others according to their circumstances.  This is why it is so important for the Believer to study the Word of God for themselves; the rightly divided, full counsel Word of God…not just a verse taken out of context to fit one’s agenda.  Job’s friends judged his circumstances and believed them to be caused by secret sin. Therefore, the Lord told the disciples to judge not other’s righteousness according to their circumstances.  Again, for clarity, if we read the prior verses (Matthew 6:25-34), we will understand the context.

For the Child of God, our circumstances are temporal.  We lay up our treasures in Heaven and take no thought for tomorrow…sufficient unto the day is tomorrow’s evil but God’s Grace is sufficient unto thee (2 Corinthians 12:9).  (It is worthwhile to note that evil is sufficient unto the “day” but God’s Grace is sufficient unto “thee”.)

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24

As a Child of God, we do not judge according to appearance but we do judge.  We judge righteous judgment according to the rightly divided Word of God between good and evil.  If not, we will be tossed to and fro and carried away by every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14).

When a Believer repeats what the Word of God says is sin, they (we) are not judging sin.  If one has a problem with what the Bible says is sin…well, that’s between them and God.

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Study to show yourself approved; a workman that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Forms of Godliness

2 timothy 3This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth.” 2 Timothy 3:1-7

These perilous times are among us. Standing before and among the congregation, the church has allowed various forms of godliness to render the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified powerless to overcome sin.  Ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the Truth of Who Jesus is and what He did on Calvary’s Cross to pay the penalty of sin for the sinner and break the power of sin for the Believer, they have set forth prophesying, casting out devils and doing many wonderful works all in the Name of Jesus while never understanding none of these are requirements for entering the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 7:21-23)…they have a form of godliness.  The Name of Jesus is nothing more than a magic talisman to these highly superstitious workers of iniquity.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4

The pulpit presents a Jesus but the same pulpit denies the power of God because they ignore the Cross of Christ as the power.  They have deemed such preaching foolishness and have chosen vain philosophies to seduce the carnal Christians.  Jesus Christ is the Source and His Cross the means by which we receive from God.  Because of Who He is and what He has done on the Cross, Jesus Christ and Him crucified is the power of God to us who are saved.  Sadly, to others such preaching is foolishness and lays waste their forms of godliness.

For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

The Foolish Things

People don’t need a hug, a bottle of water and an oil change, they need Jesus Christ…the One Who is, Who was and is to come. They don’t need vain philosophies and man-made traditions of paradigms, harbingers and lent.  What people need is to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
How then shall they call on Him in Whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14
Have I become your enemy, because I tell you the truth (Gal. 4:16)? Why not give them Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done to pay the penalty of sin for the sinner and break the power of sin for the Believer?
We have too many preachers called by their mama’s behind the pulpit paralyzed by unbelief. These hirelings give the people lectures on understanding peace and how to speak joy into the world to overcome the world. The reality is, if they would give the people the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, the people would have peace beyond all understanding and joy unspeakable. The Holy Spirit would draw the lost and bound to His Word being declared from the pulpit and heal the brokenhearted.
Yet many remain paralyzed by unbelief. They have rendered the power of God insufficient to break the power of sin in the heart and lives of the Believer and presented humanistic psychology as the answer to overcome.  The Cross of Christ has become of no effect because the Cross of Christ is not being given to the people as the answer in which they seek.
27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.” 1 Corinthians 1:27-29
