SUPERSTITION AND WITCHCRAFT

SUPERSTITION – a widely held but unjustified belief in supernatural causation leading to certain consequences of an action or event, or a practice based on such a belief.
The church house is full of superstitious Christians. The superstitions involve religious activities therefore it is equated with true biblical doctrine. Not so.

WHITE WITCHCRAFT – the use of sorcery or magic.

White witchcraft and superstition go hand in hand in the religious circles. The vain attempt to manipulate the righteous spirit world through spells and incantations remains witchcraft and is strictly prohibited by the Word of God.

“10 There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God does drive them out from before thee.”
Deuteronomy 18:10-12

These practices have been so readily accepted by the Church that they have dulled the spiritual insensibility of many and they have been left bound…ruled by these vain philosophies for victory over sin. There are some practices that many Christians will quickly recognize as error but superstition and witchcraft has been embraced and anyone who tries to revolt against them is considered a troublemaker; someone who causes confusion among the body. A general revolt against such practices will not take place as long as the church has accepted this yoke of bondage. Living among the superstitious and those who practice witch craft brings one into a bondage of works…religious works with the fruit of death as the result.

Faith in superstition and religious incantations is not faith in the Cross of Christ. We cannot have faith in 2 things. It’s either Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the victory in which we seek or it’s religious incantations and superstitions.

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness?
15 And what concord has Christ with Belial? or what part has he that believes with an infidel?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the Living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
” 2 Cor. 6:14-18

Until we decide to come out from among them and be ye separate, no matter the social status to which we have gained, we will not have the victorious Christian life we so desperately seek. The Holy Spirit is not commissioned to do the work of God in our heart when we are spewing out incantations and believing in superstitious religious works. Repent and come out. Jesus stands at the door knocking. Return to your First Love…be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

STILL SMALL VOICE

SOME PEOPLE ARE BUSY.

“38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that He (Jesus) entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard His Word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, and said, Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
” Luke 10:38-42

SOME ARE BUSY BEING RELIGIOUS. THEIR WICKS ARE NEATLY TRIMMED BUT THERE IS NO OIL IN THEIR LAMPS.

“Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.”
Matthew 25:1-12

BUT THERE REMAINS A REMNANT WHO HAVE NOT BOWED THE KNEE TO BAAL.

“10 And he (Elijah) said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the Children of Israel have forsaken Your Covenant, thrown down Your altars, and slain Your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
11 And He (God) said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”
1 Kings 19:10-12

The Lord was not in the wind. He was not in the earthquake. We may be but He’s not. Get back in the boat. The religious distractions have kept us busy. The storms have swept us to and fro. It is high time the Church, those who are called by His Name return to their First Love – Jesus Christ. His Sacrifice paid the penalty for sin for the believing sinner and broke the power of sin for the Saint. His still small voice remains for those who have ears to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the Churches.

There is a remnant. A remnant who is going to the four corners of the earth and declaring the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified for Salvation and for daily living for God. We have SEEN the Salvation of the Lord in our own lives. There are trials and tribulations but we know in Whom we have believed and we are fully persuaded that He and He alone is able to keep those things which we have committed unto Him.

Jesus Christ paid the price for whosoever will believe. He has Redeemed us and is fully able to keep us if we continue looking unto Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith. One day soon and very soon our faith is going to become sight and we are going to see Jesus Christ face to face but until then we must not be preoccupied with the world. We must not occupy until He comes. There is a lost and dying world who needs to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The only thing we can take with us to Heaven is souls…nothing else matters.
There is a religious majority who are doing many wonderful works in the Name of Jesus but they themselves are not even Saved. Come out from among them. Do the work of the Lord. Study to show thyself approved. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Be still and see the Salvation of the Lord. Listen for the still small voice.

DISTRACTIONS

DISTRACTION – a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else.

Distraction is not dominion over sin. The various religious methods for victory over sin are nothing more than a distraction from doctrines of demons posed as a preacher of righteousness.

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Cor. 11:13-15

Distractions do not give the Holy Spirit latitude to superintend the work of God in our heart but does however give satan full access as it is his work we are giving our obedience to as we mind the laws of man for victorious Christian living.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14

It is Grace that dethrones the sin nature and places in our hearts God’s Will and God’s Ways. It is Grace that writes he laws of God on our hearts as the Holy Spirit circumcises without hands. Grace is afforded the Believer by faith in the Cross of Christ…and the Cross of Christ ALONE.

When the Believer looks unto the Finished Word of Christ Jesus for victory over the sin that so easily besets them, we give the Holy Spirit latitude to do that which He is commissioned to do…superintend the work of God and produce fruit unto God in order to glorify God in the Believer’s life.

Look unto the Cross of Christ and don’t allow the evil one to distract you with vain philosophies taught by false teachers and preachers as biblical doctrine. If it’s not pointing you to Jesus Christ and Him crucified, it’s another gospel and another Jesus. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

MAN’S WISDOM CONFOUNDED

“Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.” Judges 11:1

“Perhaps because he was the son of a harlot, he was despised, rejected, and hated; however, God used him greatly, even as we shall see. If a person’s heart is toward God, irrespective of the past, God can use such a person, and often does so in order to rebuke His People, and to confound man’s wisdom and power.” Excerpt From: Jimmy Swaggart. “The Expositor’s Study Bible.”

Many are confounded at who the Lord is using to bring the Message of the Cross back to a dying church and a lost world. The rebuke to the church is because He loves us. Jesus is not coming back for a weak and beggarly church. He’s coming back for a victorious bride…a bride who has allowed God’s Divine Grace to expel that which is not pleasing to God by fighting the good fight of faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified DAILY.

This fight we fight is what gives the Holy Spirit latitude to perform the work of God in our hearts, and make no mistake, no matter our condition this side of Glory our heart continues to desperately need the work of God performed. We continually need the circumcision without hands that only the Holy Spirit can do as we look unto the Cross of Christ…not humanistic psychology or other vain philosophies cloaked in Scripture and presented to the congregation as Biblical doctrine.

When the enemy comes in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). The standard is being lifted up like a flood to the four corners of the earth and the people who are being used are confounding the wisdom of man. Don’t be confounded, repent! The river of God is flowing in spite of the storms that are raging. There is a peace beyond all understanding and joy unspeakable for those who have ears to hear. The Cross of Christ is the power of God to us who are Saved but sadly many have made His Cross of no effect. The Holy Spirit has not been commissioned to do the work of God in their heart because they have looked to other methods. Come back to your First Love, Jesus Christ and be still…be still and SEE the Salvation of the Lord. Signs and wonders will follow those who believe. We don’t have to go chasing them down.

“21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to Save them that believe.

22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:21-24

Yes, we preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified. It may confound some but to others, they see the power of God at work. It’s not by might, not by power but by His Spirit alone. It is the anointing that lays waste man’s vain philosophies because it affects the heart of man and it is the sin sick heart of man that’s the problem. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. It is indeed the power of God to us who are Saved but it is foolishness to those who are perishing. Discern how you received the message of the “Message of the Cross”. Is it the power of God or is it foolishness?

SIGNS OF LIFE

To be aware of one’s own misery is a sign of life. Because of the deceitfulness of the heart and of sin, bondage is accepted and the slave becomes unconscious of their own slavery.
Many have heard the analogy of the frog in hot water but for those who haven’t here it is again. If you put a frog in hot water it will immediately jump out however if you put a frog in water and turn up the heat, the frog will remain in the boiling water until it dies. There are many Christians who have been deceived by their heart’s sinful desires and they are completely unaware of their misery. There is no sign of life in them. They methodically endure what the world throws their way with an emptiness that only the life in others will recognize. It is discernment, not judgment and we want to share this life we have been given with whosoever will hear.
It is our faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified that affords the Holy Spirit latitude to pour grace into our own bleeding heart. We have seen His strength in our weakness and we believe.
Religious pride and self righteousness abounds in the church and it has left God’s Children bound and unaware of their own misery.
“So shall they fear the Name of the Lord from the west, and His Glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19
The Lord is raising up a standard. He is shaking His Children out of their stupor so that they may recognize their own misery. The first sign of life is the awareness of our own misery. Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross so that we who believe upon Him will have life and life more abundantly. He stands at the door knocking. Jesus is not on the inside of the Endtime Apostate Church but He’s on the outside. Those who have an ear, let them hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches.
“14 And unto the Angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the Creation of God;

15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot.

16 So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.

17 Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 I counsel you to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint your eyes with eyesalve, that you may see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My Voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

21 To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with Me in My Throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His Throne.

22 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the Churches.” Revelation 3:14-22
Jesus Christ and Him crucified…be determined to know nothing else among you.

O’ WRETCHED MAN

“18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the Law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Romans 7:18-24

O how long must we stay here? How long must we dwell in Romans 7? The wretched man that we are delights in the Law of God. Our minds seek to do that which is good and right according to the Word of God but in our members we see another law at work bringing us into the dominion of sin. That which we would not do, we do. The will to do that which is right is with us but how to perform is not…and their lies the problem. HOW? We know what to do but don’t know how to do? Our good intentions, sincerity and zeal cannot overcome the law in our members bringing us into captivity of the sin nature.

“25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the Law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death.” Romans 7:25 – 8:2

YES! Take me to Romans 8:2 O’Lord!

These vain philosophies presented to the people for victory over sin have stunted many Believer’s growth in the Lord. They continue fighting with all sincerity and zealousness a fight that they were never called to fight. These philosophies seem good and right. They appeal to the flesh and cause our members to war against the Law of God in our mind. We are a house divided. We are Saved. We are Baptized into Jesus’ Death and raised a new creature in Christ Jesus. The Law of Sin and Death to which we were espoused to before our Salvation, we are dead to. This Law of Sin and Death is not dead but we are dead to it and espoused to another, namely Jesus Christ, through the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.

The Holy Spirit alone is the One Who can make us free from the Law of Sin and Death and when we are Saved that is just what He does. He (the Holy Spirit) will only perform the work of God in our heart when our faith is placed solely and exclusively in the Cross of Christ. After Salvation when our faith is moved to those vain philosophies to fight a fight we are not commissioned to fight for victory over sin, we turn back to the Law of Sin and Death and make the Cross of Christ of no effect in our life. We dwell in Romans 7 for far too long because we usurp the ministry of the Holy Spirit to free us from the Law of Sin and Death. We commit spiritual adultery when we turn back to the old ways and depend upon our flesh to overcome sin.

There is but one way to have victory over the sin that so easily besets us and that is by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Without such faith, the Cross of Christ is of no effect. We are warring with ourselves.

The only fight the Believer is called to fight is the fight of faith in the Cross of Christ. It is then and only then that we give the Holy Spirit latitude to free us from the Law of Sin and Death because of the Law of the Spirit of Life IN Christ Jesus, buried with Him, baptized into His Death, surrendered to His Will and His Ways because we can’t but He can.

Choose this day in whom you are going to serve.

“23 And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:23-24

KEEP YOUR HEARTS AND MIND

“4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7

For the Child of God our rejoicing in the Lord is not a fake it until you make it event. No, no. Our prayer and supplication is not an outward religious display for others to hear but a worship in spirit and in truth of who Jesus is and what He did on Calvary’s Cross for whosoever will believe.

Our rejoicing in the Lord is a sincere thanksgiving unto Jesus Christ because we are unashamed and fully persuaded that He and He alone is able to keep that which we have committed unto Him against the day.

When the storms rage, we look unto Him and the peace which surpasses all understanding keeps our hearts and our minds from vain imaginations and religious philosophies.

For the Born Again Believer, His praise will forever be on our lips. We are just passing through this pilgrim land…this world is not our home. It will pass away but we will forever be with the Lord. The only thing we can take with us is our faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus and the souls of our Brethren.

“And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come. And let him that hear say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17

There is a great harvest in these last of the last days. Go and tell them to come…come and take the water of life freely. Rejoice in the Lord. Be a witness in the storm. Stand still and see the Salvation of the Lord.

FINDING REST

Faith in the atoning Work of Christ Jesus is the only faith that God will recognize. This type of faith is to be contended for. It is to be fought for. As a matter of fact, it is the ONLY fight the Believer is commissioned to fight.

Faith in the Sacrificial Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, affords WHOSOEVER will believe God’s Divine Grace. Grace that IS sufficient. Grace that expels the evil desires of our heart and places in them God’s desires; His Will.

When this precious faith in the atoning Work of Jesus is ever so slightly moved into any other method for victory over sin, our faith is corrupted and is morphed into another Jesus and another gospel for victorious Christian living. This my friend is a lie. Even cloaked in Scripture, the best of intentions can and will be met with no sacrifice for sin – just ask Cain.

May I remind you, the devil himself knows the Bible better than most Christians. Satan attempted to twist Psalms 91:11-1 while speaking to Jesus in Matthew 4:6 but Jesus knowing the Word and being the Word, knew better. Sadly, many Believer’s today do not know nor understand the Word of God but simply know what the preacher said the Word said and liked it because is was puffed up, sugar coated and tasted good to their fleshly senses.

The Cross of Christ becomes of no effect in the Believer’s life when our faith is moved into another object. Our self will, intellect, abilities, talents, etc., will not afford us victorious Christian living no matter how holy, righteous and “right” they may seem.

God does not recognize any other type of faith other than Jesus Christ and Him crucified. This fight we MUST fight. This faith we MUST contend for. This faith we must exhort.

“28 Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For My Yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

There are too many Christians who are fighting a fight they are not commissioned to fight. This fight is heavy laden. Their souls are weary. The harvest is great. We must keep our lamps full…and exhort those who are too busy trimming their wicks to fill their lamps as well. Yes, they are foolish but still they are precious in the eyes of the Lord.

Have faith in the Cross of Christ. Allow Him to use YOU, yes YOU, for His Glory to bring others to Christ. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

STANDING AT THE DOOR

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My Voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20

As Jesus Himself is knocking on the door of the hearts of the people around this world who are among the Endtime Apostate Laodicean church, there stands behind him many a professing self righteous “Cross preachers and teachers” who have no regard for the eternal souls of the people in the church…those whose heart the Lord is speaking to, but instead are focused merely on the false preacher or teacher of whom they sit under. As the people hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches, they see with their eyes the hatefulness of those who are called by His Name.

This must stop. As a Believer, everything we do or say will lead people to the Lord or away from the Lord. It is the spirit behind the message, behind the ones who are standing at the door banging it down and stand ready to come tear it down if those on the other side don’t come out from among them, that is not of God. Give them the Truth. Tell them the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified not only paid the penalty of sin for the believing sinner but It also broke the power of sin for the believing Saint. Lay that straight stick down beside their crooked stick and let them see…let the Lord reveal this great Truth to them and they WILL come out from among them. Otherwise they will cower down behind the doors of the Apostate church scared of what they see on the other side…even though the Lord Himself is ministering to their spirit.

Too often the religious try to usurp the work of the Holy Spirit. In our zealousness we hinder the work of God. Many continue to learn the Message of the Cross once they come to the understanding and apply it to their life and living. Still others try to force it on others and apply it to everyone else’s life and living while they themselves have made the Cross of Christ a law. As always, you will know them by their fruit. Discern their fruit. The Sadducees thought they were of God too.

The first sign of needing to submit unto the Cross of Christ is when we think we have arrived. As soon as we think such nonsense, the Lord will call us deeper…follow Him.

CONSUMING FIRE

Sin will take you further than you want to go, at a higher price than you can afford to pay. As a nation, the USA has become as Sodom and Gomhorrah. The fruit of death rots on our city streets as sin’s dominion reigns in the heart of man.

Such fruit was not birthed accidentally. It was allowed to grow. It was even nurtured in our schools and watered by our seeker sensitive churches. Our best life now is playing out before our eyes.

As a church we must repent of our wicked ways. We must turn from the worldly precepts and seek the Face of God for His Wisdom. Sincerity and good intentions have fueled the fire of sin as they invoked man made methods and laws for victory over sin. It was not by Grace through faith that expelled sin’s reign in our heart but vain philosophies through works that exhorted our best life now. This gospel corrupted the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified and made it of no effect in our hearts. Out of our mouths comes the abundance of the heart.

Until we as a church repent of OUR wicked ways, we certainly can’t expect the world to repent. It is we who have allowed the worldly ways to prosper as we sat quietly and did not contend for the faith all in the name of “unity”. The church it’s self has provided fertile ground for a root of bitterness to spring up because we have turned our back on the Cross of Christ for daily living for God. Until we, we who are called by HIS Name, find the place of repentance in our heart; our land will not be healed.

Judgment begins with us. Repentance begins with us…with those who are called by the Name of Jesus. Until we know the price paid for sin’s dominion by Jesus Christ at Calvary’s Cross we will continue going further and further than we want to go. We may be yelling, screaming and crying all of the way but until our chastisement is met with repentance, the Grace of God is and will remain frustrated…it will be of no effect in OUR hearts. Then and only then, when we find that place of repentant and OUR hearts are changed, will we find that unshakable ground…that strong foundation and we will see the Glory of the Lord manifest before our eyes.

Our God is indeed a consuming fire. All that is not faith in the Cross of Christ will be consumed. We must return to our first love. We must be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

“28 Wherefore we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have Grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear:

29 For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29
