GROW IN GRACE

“Preach the Word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2
 
Preach the Word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
 
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11
 
Receive the Word. Search the Scriptures daily to see whether those things are so.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
 
Study to show thyself approved; a workman that needs not be ashamed…rightly dividing the Word.
 
The Word of God is alive. It is inexhaustible. There is no graduating class this side of glory. From Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 points the Believer to Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The Old Testament is full of types and shadows of Who Jesus is and what He would do for whosoever will believe. The New Testament reveals to us Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
 
“14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
 
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is Salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you;
 
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.
 
17 You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
 
18 But grow in Grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:14-18
 
Do no wrestle with the Scriptures to your own destruction. We are warned throughout the Scriptures of the false doctrine that comes to corrupt the Truth so we must beware lest we too be led away with error and fall from our own steadfastness.
 
Preach the Word. Search the Scriptures. Grow in Grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

OUR PEACE

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common Salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints.” Jude 1:3
 
What we see in the USA today is the direct result of the condition of the church. We see the endtime apostate church who did not contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints for Salvation and instead embrace the ways of the world. The worldly system, of which satan himself is god, has been embraced, cloaked with Scripture and taught as Biblical doctrine to the unknowing.
 
While we were on the fence, turning a blind eye, enemies disciples were busy contending for their faith. Faith in humanistic psychology has become the answer to man’s dilemma in both the world and the church.
 
The church must repent of our wicked ways. We must recognize the wickedness that has corrupted the Truth and turn away.
 
Jesus stands at the door of the apostate church knocking. He is calling those who hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches out of the corruption and back to the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
 
Jesus is the Source and His Cross the means by which we receive from God. Every blessing, every “yes and amen” comes to whosoever will believe through the shed Blood of Christ Jesus.
 
Come back to Calvary. There’s room at the Cross for you. His Arm is not shortened.
 
“13 But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the Blood of Christ.
 
14 For He is our peace, Who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us;” Ephesians 2:13-14

STAND FAST

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1
 
Law, man-made or otherwise, will entangle the Believer with the yoke of bondage. It will excite the sin nature to which it was once married.
 
“Wherefore, my Brethren, you also are become dead to the law by the Body of Christ; that you should be married to another, even to Him Who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.” Romans 7:4
 
Being buried with Christ, baptized into His Death, we are dead to the law. The law is not dead but we are dead to it. Our sin nature is not dead but remains quarantined by the power of the Holy Spirit as we continue looking unto the Cross of Christ for God’s Grace to expel that which is in our heart and not pleasing unto Him. When we look to the storm and devise a ‘plan’ for victory; a man made law, the power of the Holy Spirit which has kept our sin nature isolated is removed and begins anew it’s relationship with law.
 
“9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
 
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
 
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.” Romans 7:9-11
 
The law, whether it be the Mosaic Law or man made law, is good. Man made laws for victorious Christian living are always “good”. They are well meaning and sincere but when we who are alive unto God through faith in the Cross of Christ Jesus, look unto laws which are “ordained to life”, aka victorious Christian living, our sin nature is revived and these laws produce fruit unto death. These laws are deceiving and will slay the unknowing Believer entangling them once again with the yoke of bondage.
 
“1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
 
2 For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death.” Romans 8:1-2
 
IN Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit is commissioned to free us from the Law of Sin and Death. Then and only then is He Who is in us, greater than he who is in this world working on our behalf. We can declare it and decree it all we want but unless our faith is purposefully and solely placed in Jesus Christ and Him crucified, the Holy Spirit, Who is by all means greater than he who is in this world, is NOT working on our behalf.
 
This is the one and only fight every Believer is called to fight…the fight of faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Denying ourselves; our abilities, talents, intellect, etc., we are then able to pick up the victorious life and living Jesus Christ afforded us at Calvary’s Cross and follow Him on a daily basis.
 
When we say we are determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified, we are not merely repeating a slogan but purposefully determined to follow our Lord by Grace through faith…faith of the Son of God Who loves us. We are not perfect but He is. We may falter but He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin when confessed and forsaken.
 
Look unto the Cross of Christ Jesus. Allow Him to author and finish your faith. Signs and wonders will follow those who believe. Blind eyes will be open. The lame will walk.
 
Be determined.

THE ACCURSED THING

“10 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon your face?
 
11 Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My Covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
 
12 Therefore the Children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except you destroy the accursed from among you.” Joshua 7:10-12
 
God could not bless Israel because of sin and He cannot bless us now if there is sin in our heart. The accursed thing among many is the gospel of which they have accepted. It is a corrupt gospel which has no power to expel the sin within our hearts and lives but instead condones sin.
 
“8 But though we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
 
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9
 
The modern church has no power against the enemy because it is accursed. 40 days of purpose, 21 days of fasting and the various other vain philosophies have corrupted the gospel and made it into another which is being preached from the pulpits as Biblical doctrine.
 
“8 This people draws nigh unto Me with their mouth, and honors Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me.
 
9 But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:8-9
 
The power of God is in the Cross of Christ Jesus. It is there, at Calvary that Jesus Christ defeated death, hell and the grave. The Believer who is buried with Him; Baptized into His Death by simple faith in HIS finished work, gives the Holy Spirit latitude to do a mighty work in their heart and lives which guarantees the victory in which every Born Again Believer seeks.
 
“3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His Death?
 
4 Therefore we are buried with Him by Baptism into Death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
 
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His Death, we shall be also in the likeness of His Resurrection:” Romans 6:3-5
 
It is IN Christ Jesus that our sin nature is isolated by the power of the Holy Spirit and we are given the latitude to live unto God and partake in His Divine Nature. Another gospel accursed by God does not afford the Believer the power of the Holy Spirit to superintend the work of God in our heart.
 
The accursed thing of which so many have embraced, myself too at one point in my life, must be revealed, rejected and repented of speedily. As the world waxes worse, we are seeing more and more people who have been under this accursed gospel confounded. Their foundation has washed away in the raging storms…and they’re not going to slow down. The Lord is opening the eyes of many. They have been on the fence for too long and have turned a blind eye to this other gospel that has been brought to the people of God. They have allowed it and many have died both spiritually and physically because of such. It’s high time the church repent. It’s high time those who have ears to hear come out from among these apostate churches and be ye separate.
 
The Lord is separating the wheat from the tares as Believers all over the world are beginning to stand up for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. As they are going back to the old paths, the narrow way is becoming clearer and clearer. There is room on that narrow path for whosoever will believe. Jesus Christ is standing at the door knocking. Can you hear His still small voice?

THE FALLEN RACE

The Fallen Race is without God. Their hearts are wicked and vile. Their moral authority is ruled by their emotions and their feelings. ALL who have been born of water (natural child birth) are born into this Fallen Race. It has nothing to do with the color of this earthly tent in which we dwell but everything to do with our eternal soul…our soul which will have a conscious and eternal dwelling place. Whether it be a devil’s hell or Heaven, the choice is our own.
 
Once we can stop looking at the color of one’s skin and recognize it is their eternal soul which is at stake, perhaps we as Christians could discern those who are an enemy of God and those who simply don’t know the Lord. I can tell you this, it is those who are an enemy of God who are discipling our young people and causing them too to become enemies of God. As Born Again Believers we need to be out in the highways and hedges and compel them to come in to the fold.
 
There remains a Fallen Race in this world, a race that we were all born into. They are not fallen because they don’t believe in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. No, not at all. They don’t believe in Jesus Christ and Him crucified because they are fallen. They must HEAR the the Gospel in order for the Holy Spirit to draw them unto Salvation (John 12:32). They too, just as each and every Saint of God has done, must choose in whom they are going to serve. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
 
We can be sure that the enemies of God are discipling those who don’t know the Lord. As the church has sat on the fence in order not to offend, the enemy has been in the pews deceiving the sheep. No one contended for the faith as the church turned a blind eye to the spiritual condition of the church and sought after social acceptance. What we see today is fruit. It’s rotten and it stinks of death and we know from which it came. The bottled waters and cleaning yards did not effect the hearts of the fallen.
 
“21 Not every one that says unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that does the Will of My Father which is in Heaven.
 
22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name? and in Your Name have cast out devils? and in Your Name done many wonderful works?
 
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
 
All of those good works performed by the socially acceptable church does not effect one’s Salvation. Many who prophesy in the Name of Jesus, cast out devils in the Name of Jesus and do many good works in the Name of Jesus will not make Heaven their home. They too are still part of the Fallen Race. The only difference is that their conscience is soothed by their good works. Their righteousness is self righteousness. Sadly, they do not understand that they too remain among the Fallen Race of this world. Seeing, they see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand (Matthew 13:13).
 
The Salvation of this Fallen Race was and is and will forever be effected by Faith in the slain Lamb; the Lamb of God Who took away all the sin of man. Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross to redeem this fallen race unto Himself. For those who have believed upon Him, we shall be Saved. His Finished Work is the Power of God to us who are Saved.
 
“16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
 
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be Saved.” John 3:16-17
 
Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Look unto Him and live.

TRUMP OF GOD

“15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
 
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the Trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
 
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
 
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
 
One day soon and very soon that trump is going to sound. Our loved ones who have gone before us to be with the Lord are going to rise up out of that grave as mortality meets immortality. Corruption will put on incorruption on that soon coming day when death is swallowed up in victory. Those of us who are alive and remain will be caught up with them is a glorious cloud of witnesses and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Our faith will become sight as we behold our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
 
“51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
 
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
 
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
 
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
 
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” 1 Corinthians 15:51-55
 
Salvation is for whosoever will believe. Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross to pay the penalty of sin for the believing sinner and break the power of sin for the believing Saint. He has gone before us and prepared a place for us. In His House there are many mansions.
 
“2 In My Father’s House are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
 
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
 
4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 1 John 14:2-24
 
No one knows the day nor the hour but He’s coming back…and this might be the day.

ETERNAL SOULS

“1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.
 
2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken away from among you.
 
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that has so done this deed,
 
4 In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
 
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be Saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
 
6 Your glorying is not good. Know you not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump.” 1 Corinthians 5:1-6
 
It is the eternal soul that is at stake when the Believer falls from Grace. No matter the sin, if the Believer is not repentant of their sin once they have been warned according to Matthew 18:15-17, then they must be turned over to the devil for the destruction of the flesh so that the spirit, their eternal soul, may be Saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
 
What every Christian needs to understand is the difference in forgiveness and deliverance. There are many sitting in the church pews who are repentant. They HATE their sin but they are bound. They have tried every wind of doctrine that has come down the religious pike to gain a victory that has already been given by the shed Blood of Christ Jesus. The problem is that their faith has been moved from the Blood of Jesus and to another object. This other object incites their flesh, appeals to their intellect and triggers their willpower. It’s what they know and they turn to ‘it’ (whatever ‘it’ may be) for their deliverance and time after time they fail. They love the Lord and are sincere in their repentance but they have been led astray by doctrines of man. Instead of maintaining their victory by faith in the Cross of Christ, they set forth to gain their victory. If such were possible, the Cross of Christ was in vain. God forbid NO!
 
These precious souls are not to be turned over to the devil but pointed to the Cross of Christ so that they may live.
 
“And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looks upon it, shall live.” Numbers 21:8
 
We have all been bitten by the fiery serpent. We are all born into a doomed race due to the Fall of Adam. None have any moral claim to righteousness or Salvation. All that the believing sinner and the Saint have is provided to us by the Cross of Christ. Our victory this side of Glory is freely and abundantly given to WHOSOEVER will believe.
 
Be careful how we treat those who have fallen from Grace. We don’t know how the Lord is dealing with them. Their eternal soul is at stake. Point them to Jesus…point them to the Cross of Christ so that they too may look and live. If they refuse repentance; deny their sinful ways and condone a sinful lifestyle as they claim Christianity, we must contend for the faith and turn them over the devil. The Lord will use the devil as His instrument of chastisement in hopes that the fallen will turn back to Him…just as the prodigal son came back to his father.
 
Repentance will always be met with forgiveness and when the fallen Brethren repent, we must accept them back into the fold.
 
“6 Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
 
7 So that contrariwise you ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
 
8 Wherefore I beseech you that you would confirm your love toward him.” 2 Corinthians 2:6-8
 
Eternal souls are at stake. Many whose eyes have been blinded to the sin that has to easily beset them are beginning to see. They too are coming out from among the worldly and choosing to be ye separate. Repentance is necessary but you will know them by their fruit. We are to judge their fruit. Their eyes will be watching those who believe and signs and miracles will follow.
 
In every situation we as Believers must consider the eternal souls of others. There are some who are indeed enemies of God. They hate God and the things of God but there are others who simply do not know the Lord. Pray for discernment. Point them to the Cross of Christ Jesus so that they too may look live.

THESE LAST DAYS

“1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
 
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
 
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 3:1-7
 
Most Christians can see this happening right before our eyes. We are seeing Bible prophecy play out before our eyes. Even with the utter lack of discernment in many churches today, we can see this worldly system waxing worse.
 
It is our response to this that reveals our fruit. Sadly many are gripped by fear. The foundation of which they stand is being washed away. They bear many religious leaves but there is no fruit. Their religious ways have been cursed and they find themselves barren.
 
“12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, He (Jesus) was hungry:
 
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, He came, if happly He might find any thing thereon: and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
 
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And His Disciples heard it.” Mark 11:12-14
 
Jesus is looking for some out of season fruit. He stand at the door knocking. His eyes are searching to and fro for those whose heart is perfect toward HIM…even in the storm.
 
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:” Acts 2:17
 
Why is the Lord looking for some out of season fruit? Why is He searching the earth to and fro for those whose hearts are perfect toward Him? Why is He standing at the door knocking?
 
Because He is about to poor out His Spirit upon whosoever will believe upon Him! Whosoever will look unto Jesus, Who He is and what He has done, He is going to author and finish our faith.
 
Perilous times will indeed come in these last of the last days but so too is the Spirit of God going to be poured out on all flesh. Our sons and our daughters are going to prophesy in the Name of Jesus. Our young men will see visions and our old men will dream dreams in the Name of Jesus. We who believe are about to see the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit that the world has ever seen.
 
As the storms rage around us; as the perilous times come we are looking…we are determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. One day soon and very soon our faith is going to become sight but today, this day, the harvest is great and we must occupy until He comes. Go and tell this world which is perishing right before our eyes of the Good News of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The only thing we can take with us when we leave this earth are souls. Preach the Cross of Christ. Look and live!!

THE POWER OF GOD

“17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
 
18 For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are Saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:17-18
 
Our faith in the Cross of Christ Jesus will give the Holy Spirit latitude to do a mighty work in our heart. It will allow Him to circumcise our hearts and remove those things which are not pleasing to God.
 
Wisdom of words will corrupt the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Evil corrupts righteousness if allowed by the Believer to infiltrate while Righteousness will utterly expel evil if we who believe will simply choose the Cross of Christ as the answer.
 
No matter the circumstances, the Cross of Christ is the answer. At Calvary Jesus Christ defeated death, hell and the grave. The sin which so easily besets us was and is nailed to Calvary’s Cross. If you look, you too will see. Look to the Cross of Christ. If it seems foolish, you are perishing my friend for It is the Power of God to us who are Saved.
 
Grace flows uninterrupted as we look unto Jesus Christ and Him crucified. In spite of the circumstances, His Grace is always sufficient. It is in HIS Armor that we stand by Grace through our faith in the Cross of Christ. His Armor is not something we pretend to put on in the morning. No, no…that’s silliness. The Armor of God is something we were covered in when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. It is His shed Blood that covered our weary soul when we were Born again and Baptized into His Death. This is His Armor. It is easy and gives rest to our soul as we stand.
 
“11 Put on the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
 
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
 
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:11-13
 
Our fight is not against flesh and blood. Our fight is a fight of faith; faith in the Cross of Christ. Denying ourselves (our abilities, talents and intellect), submitted fully unto God’s Will, we are able to stand knowing in Whom we have believed; knowing that He is able to keep that which we have committed unto Him. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world AS LONG as our faith is in the power of God – JESUS CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED. Be determined to know NOTHING else among you! Look and live!

BAPTIZED INTO HIS DEATH

“3 Know you not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His Death?
 
4 Therefore we are buried with Him by Baptism into Death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:3-4
 
At Salvation, when the believing sinner is Born Again, we are born of the Holy Spirit and are now spiritually alive unto God. Baptized into the Death of Jesus, we are dead to the sin nature we are all born with due to the Fall of Man. The sin nature which has ruled and reigned in our hearts for so long is dethroned by the power of the Holy Spirit. To be sure, it is the Holy Spirit alone Who has the power to isolate the sin nature. If it were possible for us to overcome our sin nature on our own accord, the Cross of Christ would be in vain. God forbid no! At Calvary Jesus paid the penalty of sin for the believing sinner AND He broke the power of sin for the Saint. If our faith isn’t solely in Who He is and what He has done to break the power of sin, the Holy Spirit is not commissioned to do the work of God in our heart and we live a life spiritually defeated. Are we Saved? Yes. Are we miserably Saved? Sadly, yes.
 
Baptized into Jesus’ Death, we are dead to the law. It is the law which quickens our sin nature. Before Grace, we were married to the law by the power of our sin nature.
 
“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14
 
Married to the law, the sin nature reigned. Dead to the law, we are espoused to another, Christ Jesus and it is His Grace that isolates the sin nature AS LONG AS our faith is in HIS Finished work and not our own.
 
“1 Know you not, Brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
 
2 For the woman which has an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he lives; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
 
3 So then if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
 
4 Wherefore, my Brethren, you also are become dead to the law by the Body of Christ; that you should be married to another, even to Him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.” Romans 7:1-4
 
The Believer is dead to the law by the Body of Christ. Baptized into His Death, we remain there. We do not turn back to law for Sanctification. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to circumcise our heart. HE is the one who removes old things and makes all things new. The Holy Spirit alone superintends the work of God in our hearts and He will only do so as we look to the Cross of Christ Jesus and live.
 
Our sin nature is not dead. This mortal coil of which we live is decaying. Gray hair and wrinkles, aches and pains, sickness and death are all due to the sin nature which dwells in us. We have not yet received our glorified bodies.
 
However, we are dead to our sin nature by the Baptism into Jesus’ Death and as long as we remain submitted unto Him; unto HIS Finished work for our life and living, sin shall not have dominion over us. We may struggle at times as He uses our sin nature as a tool of chastisement, but He remains on His Throne and will turn all things to good as we look unto Him.
 
“22 For I delight in the Law of God after the inward man:
 
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
 
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Romans 7:22-24
 
This is where so many remain. Spiritually defeated because of the constant battle. This yoke is not easy. There is no rest. Our inward man delights in the ways of God but we are unable to live a life in His Ways. Sin’s dominion reigns.
 
Why? Because we have turned to law, religious laws and vain philosophies cloaked in Scripture being taught as Biblical doctrine and have quickened the sin nature we were once dead to. Are we still Saved? Of course. However, we are living under the Government of Law and not the Government of Grace. Trying in our own accord to overcome the sin nature.
 
“For the Law of the Spirit of Life IN Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death.” Romans 8:2
 
No longer IN Christ Jesus, no longer baptized into HIS Death, we are also no longer made free from the Law of Sin and Death by the Spirit of Life (the Holy Spirit). Oh what a wretched man we are as we fight a battle we are not commissioned to fight. Sin has been defeated, yet we continue to fighting to “gain” a victory that we have already been freely given.
 
The only fight the Believer is commissioned to fight is the fight of faith…faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. We must deny ourselves DAILY and pick up our cross. The Cross of Christ was a place of great suffering but our cross is a place of great blessing BECAUSE of His suffering. Until we as a Believer deny ourselves and pick up the live we have been so freely given, we cannot follow Jesus.
 
Look unto Jesus. Allow Him to author and finish your faith. Let no sin have dominion but believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Look to Calvary and live.
