Mixed Multitudes

2016-06-07_15-53-051On that day they read in the Book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;

Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.

Now it came to pass, when they had heard the Law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.” Nehemiah 13:1-3

Nowhere in the Word of God is the Child of God instructed to “coexist” among other religions.  As a Believer we cannot worship with those who believe differently.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17

True unity does not mean unconditional acceptance of that which God calls sin.  True unity is found in those who have come out from among the mixed multitudes and are separated to God for His service.  Such is the call of all who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour…not just the pastors.

Come our from among the mixed multitudes.

Walk After the Spirit

6dd5292e19f9504b28f8198a931f6f06There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”  Romans 8:1-2

The Sanctified life; the life that leads to Holiness, Godliness and Righteousness, is strictly a work of the Holy Spirit.  Precept upon precept and line upon line, old things pass away and all things become new as we walk out our Salvation with fear and trembling.

As we look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, the One Whose Blood paid our sin debt and broke the power of sin in our lives, we give the Holy Spirit latitude through our faith in Jesus to do that which He is commissioned to do…free us from the law of sin and death.

40 days of purpose will not free us from the law of sin and death. Fasting was not given to the Body of Christ for freedom from the law of sin and death.  Humanistic psychology and other methods from the vanities of man’s mind will not free us from the law of sin and death.

God gave us ONE answer for sin and that was His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.”  John 3:16-18

There is therefore no condemnation for those who believe in Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done on Calvary’s Cross for whosoever will believe.  There is conviction of sin from the Holy Spirit for the Believer but there is no condemnation.

The Sanctified life is strictly a work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of those Who deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit will never speak of Himself (John 16:13) but always point us to the One Who Overcame death, hell and the grave…Jesus Christ.  Be determined to know nothing else.

Newness of Life

Newness of LifeWhat shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?

Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”  Romans 6:1-4

Sadly, many will attend the religious centers today having repeated a prayer and receiving a card and believe they are saved.  There has been no change in their heart as they struggle to overthrow that sin that so easily besets them.  Others may feel a relief because they are told that there sin is forgiven…even though they have never repented, nor do they realize repentance is even necessary.  They are comforted in their sin but not changed by the power of God.

Know ye not that when we are born again that we are baptized into Jesus Christ and into His death?  The death of Christ on Calvary’s Cross as the sacrificial Lamb of God is the ONLY answer given to defeat death and overcome sin.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the Law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14

Because of the fall of man, Adam’s original sin, we are all born with a sin nature.  This sin nature rules and reigns in our hearts until we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.  Once we accept Jesus and our faith is placed solely in Him and what He has done on Calvary’s Cross, the Holy Spirit comes and baptizes us into the finished work of Jesus…His death – we are “baptized into His death”.  This baptism into the death of Jesus Christ breaks the power of sin in the Believer.  Sin no longer has dominion over us.  Old things pass away and all things become new.

For some, religion will come in and carry them away.  They will begin to focus on various and often times Scriptural practices in order to “gain” God’s favor.  The ugly cycle of working for favor begins and we begin walking down a path that does not lead to life but death.  Daily we are dying. Our faith wanes as we are swept to and fro with every wind of doctrine that comes down the pike.  Binding pythons.  Looking for harbingers. Is this the shemitah? Sader feasts. Waiting on blood moons.  Gotta have a prayer shawl.  The list is endless but the results are the same…death.  Our sin nature is no longer isolated because our faith is in “our part” and not Jesus’ finished work.  We are not partaking in the Divine Nature of Grace through faith but once again bound by the law of sin and death.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2

There is a change that occurs when we are born again; when we are baptized into the death of Christ.  We are given dominion over our sin nature.  We no longer have to partake in worldly statutes to overcome.  There is a circumcision of the heart, a circumcision made without hands that brings life…newness of life.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”  John 7:37-38

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead, death has no more dominion over Him. As a Child of God, we have been freed from sin.  Yield yourself unto God as one that is alive from the dead…walk in the newness of life.  Lay hold on life and life more abundantly.

Endure the Afflictions

theharvestisplentifulBut watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an Evangelist, make full proof of your Ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:5

How often do we abandon the path the Lord has placed us on when adversity arises? Endure the afflictions. Do the work of an Evangelist. Don’t take the path of least resistance to further your Ministry; make full proof your Ministry.  Declare the Truth according to the Word of God.  Stand boldly against false doctrine that satan has sent to kill, steal and destroy the brethren’s faith.

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37 Then said He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few;

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38

Move with compassion on those who are scattered with no shepherd.  Those who are spiritually sick and their faith is dying are the very ones who need to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ that brought them in to the Kingdom, is the same Gospel of Jesus that will deliver them from their afflictions.  Too many have been sitting under another gospel and another Jesus and are accursed (Galatians 1:6-10).

The problem with the church today is unbelief.  Unbelief that this glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way we are given dominion over sin…there is no other.  In fact, some don’t want dominion over sin because they like their sin and feel that God’s grace “covers” their sin.  In other words, Jesus came to empower them to freely sin.  To those I say, get saved.  Jesus Christ came to pay the penalty of sin and to break the power of sin for whosoever will believe, not give us license to sin.  That is in fact another Jesus and another gospel.

When, and only when, our faith is placed in Jesus Christ and His finished work (not our various religious traditions, ceremonies, etc.), can the Holy Spirit do that which He is commissioned to do…free us from the law of sin and death.

For the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2

Do not be hindered.  Endure the afflictions. Do the work of an Evangelist.  Make full proof your Ministry…be determined to know nothing else among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
