When it comes; when the fear, anger, bitterness and the host of emotions come knocking on the door of the Believer’s heart, it’s how we handle these emotions that matters.

The Believer is not immune from emotions but we are not led by our emotions either. When the storm is raging and fear grips our heart, we look to the heavens from whence our help comes. We look unto the Author; to He Who finishes our faith. We guard our heart and renew our minds DAILY.

The temptations which come and try to take root in our heart, we give them to the Lord. We recognize them as not of Him and ask Him to remove those things which aren’t pleasing in His eyes.

Fighting these emotions will not resolve these emotions. We do not have the ability to overcome such powers of darkness. They will absolutely overtake the Christian and leave them languishing in the wilderness.

“28 Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For My Yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

The only battle the Child of God is commissioned to fight is the fight of faith – faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified; faith in WHO He is and WHAT He has done to pay the penalty of sin for the believing sinner and break the power of sin for the Believer. Fear, anger, bitterness and the like are sins that can so easily beset the Believer. Sin is not static. Bitterness will take root. Fear will hinder. The result of which is spiritual death if we do not surrender it to the Lord.

We cannot lie with our fear; keep it tucked away in our hearts like a pet, a secret between you and the devil and walk in the Promises of God.

His Yoke is indeed easy…but we must put it on. We must learn of Him and we will find rest unto our weary souls.

It’s time some of you professing Christians decide this day to be done with the fear. The devil has told you lies for too many years and you have believed him. Take hold of the Promises of God by faith in the Cross of Christ and you shall live and not die. Declare this day that the Cross of Christ Jesus IS sufficient to supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory. We do not have to languish in the wilderness. Jesus Christ made a way for us to partake in His Divine Nature. Sickness must die in the Name of Jesus. Bondages are broken in the Name of Jesus. Strongholds laid waste in the Name of Jesus.

“3 According as His Divine Power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:3-4

The Holy Spirit living in the Believer has created in you a new creature. We have been given a Divine Nature if we will only partake…if we will only believe the Finished Work of Christ Jesus was and is and will forever be sufficient to take us through this pilgrim land.

Lord, I believe…help my unbelief!

“5 Do you think that the Scripture says in vain, The Spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy?

6 But He gives more grace. Wherefore He said, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:5-7

It is the Will of God for His Children, those who are Born Again and Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, to possess the entirety of His Promises. The Promises of God are yes and amen to those who are in His perfect Will.

God’s promises are conditional. They are conditional of the Believer’s faith being placed solely and exclusively in the Cross of Christ Jesus, not our works. We are unable to resist the devil and the devil will not flee until we are submitted unto God’s Will.

The Holy Spirit Who dwells in those who have been born of His Spirit (hence the term “Born Again” [John 3:3]), “lusts to envy” those things which hinders our progress with the Lord. He wants to expel that from our hearts if we will give Him latitude to do such. The problem is we hinder Him; we hinder the work of the Holy Spirit when we rely on our will power, intellect, talent or abilities to overcome that which only the power of the Holy Spirit can utterly expel. The weekly motivational speeches given behind many a pulpit propagate such activities and the Believer continues in their own efforts a vain attempt to resist the devil…and to be sure, he will not flee. The devil is not scared of our vain, religious philosophies to overcome him. To be sure, he’s the very author of such nonsense.

“Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

If we will allow Jesus Christ to author and finish our faith in WHO He is and WHAT He has done to pay the penalty of sin AND break the power of sin, we give the Holy Spirit latitude to do that which only HE is commissioned to do and can do to break the power of sin in our lives.

The Promises of God are for whosoever will Believe. The condition is we must believe that He is able to keep that which we have committed unto Him. We must believe that He is able to supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory BY Jesus Christ. Jesus IS the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is by and through Jesus and Jesus alone that we are afforded the Promises of God. Look to Him.
