Know That You Know

Sometimes I wonder, I anxiously await to see what the Lord will have in store for us each day.  It’s exciting to me.  As we go through life, go through the valley’s and stand high on the mountains, God is always teaching and guiding us.  Even through the darkest of days, we can still look up to Him in awe.  We look up and wonder, “how in the world are you going to make this good, Lord?”  We don’t wonder if He will make all things good but we anxiously anticipate how He will make our situation good.  Sometimes we don’t see the “good” until years later; until we realize the lesson learned.  How could we doubt God’s love for us?  He want’s to use each of us in ways we do not yet know.  The Lord wants to use us to glorify Him, to provoke others to seek Him.  How would we glorify Him if we all remained in fear of death and hell; if we were constantly scared He would get fed up with our imperfect ways?  God’s judgment is righteous and any judgment from us is self righteous.  How would we provoke others to seek Him by enforcing strict adherence to man made traditions? Are we glorifying Him or are we attempting to do His job for Him?

God glorifies Himself by blessing us and we can’t help but sing His praises.  His blessings come in many shapes and sizes.  The Lord’s blessings are not always realized until we are delivered.  When we allow the Lord to teach us, we will glean His blessing from the lesson.  Each moment is a teaching moment.  When we are in the valley’s of life, we don’t praise Him for the valley.  We don’t praise Him for the sickness and broken finances but for His grace to get us through that time.  If the Lord doesn’t move the mountain, He will give us the strength to get over the mountain.  We praise Him for what He is doing, not for what the enemy is doing.  The enemy is trying to distract us from God’s blessings by getting us to meditate on him; on the problems he is putting in front of us.  The enemy’s distraction is called worry.  Worry causes us to lose faith in God’s ability to overcome.  Until we know, that we know, that we know the Lord Jesus has already won the war for us, we will continue in the battle ourselves.  We all seek God’s best in our lives but often give Him a percentage.  We tend to stick just a toe in the water to see if He is sincere.  When we decide to live in His grace, no matter the storm around us, the enemy’s worry disappears and God’s peace becomes our peace.  “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalms 46:10  Sometime we just need to be still and know.

How can God show out, when we are showing out?  Who would be glorified when we show out?  I’ll give you a hint, it wouldn’t be the Lord.  I pray we all allow the Lord to use us this year.  I wonder, will it be you He uses to lead that friend to Him?  Will it be you He uses to lead my lost loved ones to Him?  Maybe it will be me He uses.  I pray for Him to use me.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11.  To believe anything other than what God’s Word says puts us at enmity with Him.  Allow the Lord to use your situation to glorify Him.  Allow the Lord to use you to glorify Him.  – Donna Warren
