The Sin of Unforgiveness

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.  But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”  Mark 11:25-26.

No matter the fault, forgiveness is necessary.  Even the unforgiven must forgive, whether they are the offender or the offended.  According to this scripture, unforgiveness breaks down relationship with God.  Our forgiveness of trespasses is directly related to the forgiveness we give.  When we hold someone in contempt we turn them into an idol.  We all know the feeling you get when thinking of someone who has angered you, no matter how sanctified we are.  When we entertain that feeling of hate or thoughts of unforgiveness, we are placing them above God.  In reality, we are giving them the power to control our feelings.  This is a prime example of us not being strong enough in our own will to overcome our sin nature.

A Christian would never, or should never, entertain sin.  Sin is easier to spot when it is tangible – alcohol, drugs, etc., but when it is a feeling , or intangible, we often try to fake it.  I’m not talking about temptation.  Temptation is not a sin until we act on it.  I’m talking about hatred, envying, coveting, unforgiveness, etc.; the things in our heart that we can’t physically touch.  These too are sins.  If I just shattered anyone’s idea of sinless perfection, I apologize.  However, perhaps 1 John 1:8-10 may be of comfort, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”  I have yet to find in the Bible “confess our righteousness”…sorry Grace Revolution.

So, how do we forgive?  Satan throws out the bait and what do we do?  Discernment is necessary, is it of God?  Absolutely not. So, according to the Word of God we are to “Cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 1 Cor. 10:5.  Then we are to “Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.” Luke 6:28.  That sounds pretty cut and dry, huh?  It is all Biblical so accordingly by doing these things, we should arrive at desired result – forgiveness, right?

What I just gave you is a method my friends.  I gave you the steps to take to achieve desired goal and to overcome the sin of unforgiveness.  In reality, I just put you under law.  By doing these things (works), you are expecting your heart to change and forgiveness to occur.  No my friend, if you are having a problem with unforgiveness or any sin for that matter, do not seek a method but seek deliverance.  The problem you are having is dominion over sin nature.  This does not mean there is a lack of faith, or not enough faith but that our faith is placed in that method and not in Jesus and His finished work.  When we think that Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is Christianity 101 and we have “grown” in our spirituality – we are correct, we have grown…AWAY from the Vine.  It is through our faith in Jesus’ finished work that the Holy Spirit gives us dominion over our sin nature.  When our faith is moved to the method, our dominion over unforgiveness, covetousness, alcohol, drugs – our sin nature, is removed because our faith is misplaced.

With our faith on Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, we seek deliverance from unforgiveness.  We look to God and ask Him to help us forgive. Yes, we discern and capture the thoughts of unforgiveness.  Yes, we pray for our enemy.  However, we do this because this is what we are suppose to do.  The change of heart comes from the work of the Holy Spirit through our faith in Jesus that enables us to forgive, not from our actions.  There is a popular TV evangelist who is popular for saying “Forgiveness is not a feeling, it is a choice.”    We do not live by feeling .  Unforgiveness is a sin that requires deliverance, not a choice my friends.  Don’t allow pride to hinder you from seeking deliverance for unforgiveness.  We can’t forgive them on our own or through a method, it is the change of heart that occurs through the Lord, not through our own will.  – Donna Warren

God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

Please do not be deceived.  The god of islam is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of the Bible,  as some claim.   A Christian’s God, the ONLY Sovereign God, claims Israel as the Apple of His Eye, “for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of His eye.”  Zec. 2:8.  Our God said “…I will bless them that bless thee (Israel), and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:3.

On the other hand, the quran says “Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. God does not guide the wrong-doers.”
Quran 5:51, “The Table,” Dawood, p. 116.  Furthermore, the god of the quran says to “…cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers.” Quran 3:148, “The Imrans,” Dawood, p. 67.

Don’t ever allow the enemy to tell you their god is the same as a Christian’s God.  Also, please allow me to qualify the term enemy, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4.  Unfortunately, “enemy of God” refers to many of todays seeker sensitive “Christian” churches as well.   Know the Word of God, test the spirits and pray for discernment.  God does not contradict Himself and He does not change, neither does evil.  “For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Cor. 1:18.  Faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified for Salvation and victory.  Cling to the Cross of Jesus and don’t be deceived.  – Donna Warren

Eyes to See and Ears to Hear

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18.

It is not the prayer that comes out of our mouth that saves us but the belief in our hearts.  God responds to the prayers of a heart who believes in His Son, not what comes out of our mouths.  Before Salvation, we did not have ears to hear or eyes to see but it was the Holy Spirit who drew us to the Lord and Jesus revealed Himself to us.  Once we have a heart that believes, we then have eyes to see and ears to hear the voice of the Lord, just as He has always heard and seen our hearts.   “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” John 10:14.

The condition of the heart will reveal the nature of the senses as carnal or spiritual.  A hardened heart will grow harder when pride is present and a softened heart will grow softer when humility is present.  “For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.” John 25:29.  Our carnal senses will reject the things in which our spiritual senses would receive.  Light rejected will be taken away and given to one who has an abundance.

Discern before rejecting.  Is it our carnal eyes and ears that are rejecting the light given or is it our spiritual eyes and ears?  Does it line up with what the Word of God says?  “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” Romans 8:5.  In everything we see or hear, discern from where it came.  God ministers to the heart and hears the heart.  Our continued faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work , not methods of man (man made faith, righteousness, etc.) is the only way our spiritual eyes and ears remain open to the Holy Spirit.   – Donna Warren

Dual Covenant Theory and John Hagee

Our Commitment to Israel

“We believe in the promise of Genesis 12:3 regarding the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. We believe that this is an eternal covenant between God and the seed of Abraham to which God is faithful.”

This statement was taken directly from John Hagee Ministries website on their Beliefs page.  This is a very deceiving statement.   Many people have supported John Hagee’s, Christians United For Israel foundation, myself included.

To understand John Hagee’s “Commitment to Israel” we must first understand Genesis 12:3.  “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”  We all know this scripture and as a Christian we hold this scripture close to our heart.  It is the Abrahamic Covenant, an unconditional covenant from God to Abraham “and he believed in the Lord; and He (the Lord) counted it to him for Righteousness.” Genesis 15:6.  In this statement we find justification by faith.  It was by Grace through Faith that Abraham was saved, not his good works.

There are two Mediators to Abraham’s Covenant.  The first mediator, Moses (Galatians 3:19), was the mediator to the Jew’s of the Abrahamic Covenant.  Through the Mosaic Law, the Jewish people were shown what they were, sinners, and pointed to the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ.   Every sacrifice of the Old Testament was a type and shadow of Jesus Christ but could only cover sin, not take it away.  The Law was the schoolmaster to the Jews but could not give eternal life.  It was their justification by faith (the Abrahamic Covenant) in the coming Messiah that brought them their salvation – not their bloodline but their faith.

Then came the Second Mediator, glory to God – His name is Jesus Christ and He is our Mediator.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the One and only Mediator for both the Jews and Gentiles.  It is our faith in Jesus that we are justified (justified by faith), which includes all Believers in to the Abrahamic Covenant. Believers are justified by faith in Jesus Christ and reconciled with God, the Father.

So now that we have a better understanding of the Abrahamic Covenant, let’s reevaluate Pastor Hagee’s statement and discern which Mediator he is preaching to the Jewish people.  Note I said to the Jewish people.  It is obvious his teachings to the “Gentiles”  – Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.  But it is his preaching, or the lack there of, to the Jewish people that is absolutely heart breaking to think about.  While searching the JSM website for something, anything, to show he is preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jewish people, I could find nothing – zilch, zero.  However, I did find this disturbing video with Pastor Hagee denying Jesus as the Messiah for the Jews.

Pastor John Hagee does not preach the Gospel of Jesus to the Jewish people.  He does not tell them they need Jesus for Salvation but instead the Mosaic Law.  Furthermore, if you read closely on the Christians United For Israel website, the “Israel Pledge” reads as follows:

We believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

We maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

We pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors. ”

Now first off, every word in that statement is true – period.  HOWEVER, how many of us have donated to CUFI under the impression Pastor Hagee was preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified to the Jewish people.  This would greatly explain Pastor Hagee’s popularity in Israel.

Pastor Hagee is indeed blessing Israel with financial support regarding their land which would fulfill the obligations of Genesis 12:3 but in no way fulfills Mark 16:15, The Great Commission, “And He said unto them, God ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to everycreature.”   Even worse however, is John Hagee has been deceived by the seducing spirits of Jewish mysticism and has now become one of the wolves in sheep’s clothing.  On the JHM website, under “About Us” then “Support Israel”, Pastor Hagee states in item number 3  that “Jesus considered the Jewish people His family. Jesus said (Matthew 25:40) ‘Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren (the Jewish people… Gentiles were never called His brethren), ye have done it unto me.’ ”  May I remind everyone of Mark 3:31-35, “There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.”  This is just the little bit I found on his website.  What else do we not know?

As the Hebraic Movement begins to increase and I see Jewish Feasts and Festivals being observed.  I wonder, are they too going to go down the path of John Hagee?  I heard a Messianic Jew the other day refer to this dual covenant teaching as “sending them (orthodox Jews) to hell with a prayer shawl”.  We all watch the news.  We can see what is happening overseas.  Israel is about to be in for the fight of her life.  There will be and have been many Jewish people die who were not told the Gospel of Jesus.  My prayer is for God’s continued protection over Israel and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified to go forth, to the four corners of the world…and especially to Israel.

I usually never ask for anyone to “share” my posts.  However, today I ask for you to prayerfully consider sharing this article.  I have spoken with many Messianic Jews who have seen and know how dangerous Pastor Hagee’s teaching is to the Jewish people.  We often don’t know what to pray for Israel…pray for their Salvation, pray for them to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  In Him, Donna Warren.

The Tribe of Dan

“And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.  And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.”  Judges 17:9-10.

Micah called his chapel a House of God but the Holy Spirit called it a house of idols.  Micah’s church, like many churches today, had a form of godliness.  He knew just enough about religion to be superstitious.  Along with all of Micah’s graven images, he had now bought himself a priest to consecrate his images.  “Then said Micah, Now know I that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.” Judges 17:13, this is nothing more than superstition.  Israel had become morally bankrupt because the worship of Jehovah was neglected and the idolaters were busy building their idols.  A true House of God was as hard to find then as it is today.  The people build themselves a chapel, devise some methods, buy a priest and declare “the Lord will do me good”.

Then comes the Tribe of Dan, who recognize the voice of the Levite priest who Micah had hired, and asked him “…Ask counsel, we pray you, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous. And the priest said unto them, Go in peace: before the Lord is your way wherein you go.” Judges 18:5-6.   Now we have superstition on Micah’s behalf, divination on the priest’s behalf and The Tribe of Dan.

Two things to note about the Tribe of Dan: 1) They should have never asked the priest to divine for them.  They could have very well prayed to God themselves and would have know His will.   How many priests do we have acting as diviners today?  They aren’t going to go by the name diviner but maybe prophet… you know, kind of like the wolf in sheep’s clothing, diviner/prophet.  Does God have prophets today? Absolutely!  Does man buy themselves a prophet today? Absolutely!  The prophet we receive will be determined by the object of our faith.  If our faith is in Jesus and His finished work for both Salvation and sanctification, then our trust is in God.  If God wants to give us a message, He will use a donkey if necessary – we don’t have to chase it down.  If our faith is in God for Salvation and in scheme’s of man for our sanctification – we will seek and we will find Micah’s diviner.  If you read my post yesterday, the itchy ears are the fruit of these diviners/prophets/priests.

The second thing to note about the Tribe of Dan discovering Micah’s house of idols and priest is what strikes me the most.  This is the glaringly obvious sign of the times we are in today.  When discovering Micah’s land, his chapel and graven images, the Tribe of Dan was not the least bit surprised, much less indignant.  Instead of tearing down Micah’s idols, the Danite’s in fact stole his idols and bought his priest.  How many Danite’s are in the church today?  They know the right way but don’t even blink an eye at the graven images and idols.  Today’s Danite’s  believe as long as the younger Danite’s  have a form of godliness in the church that they are okay.  While, in the meantime, the younger “Danite’s” remain in bondages and will never know the true grace of God because the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is never preached.  Today’s apostate church presents Jesus as an example of godliness, which He ABSOLUTELY is, but they do not teach Jesus as the method of godliness.  Schemes of man (today’s idols)  are the methods of godliness taught in today’s church of idols.  Not only is Jesus Christ our example but He is our Way…the ONLY Way for Salvation and Sanctification.

So whatever happened to the Tribe of Dan?  Funny you should ask.  God does not mention them in the list of tribes saved during Daniel’s 70th week.  Some say it is because of their idolatry but that is speculative and therefore useless.  Where is the Tribe of Dan today?  Are they sitting beside you on Sunday mornings?  Do you see them sitting in the congregation while watching your favorite televangelist?  The compromising churches today with their flattering priests,  did they once belong to Micah?  We are warned time and time again of the apostasy in the latter days.  We are given example after example of such apostasy in the Old Testament, yet many don’t believe the Old Testament to be relevant.  And we remain blinded.  The Tribe of Dan…”Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” Matthew 15:14.

Know Them By Their Fruit

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”  Matthew 7:15-16.

Satan’s greatest weapons are false prophets.  We read this in the Bible and we listen to them on the television but because they throw in some scripture we don’t see them as false prophets.  These false prophets won’t come in wolves clothing, they come in sheep’s clothing.  If I can tell you how many times I have heard “well, none of them are completely right”.   My response is this…if they don’t get the Cross of Jesus and what He accomplished right, they are a heretic.  Strong but true.  If they point us anywhere other than the Cross of Christ, get rid of them.   I have said this before, you can’t go past the Cross.  Our spiritual growth and sanctification remains at the Cross of Jesus, not in the psychology classes offered in the name of Sunday school.  Discern the Sunday School classes today, are they studying the Word of God or pulling out a couple of scriptures to fit into their motivational speech.  Is it pointing to what Jesus did or what you must do?  The Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus is about Jesus…not about us.

You will know the false prophets by their fruits.  Is the flock of sheep growing or the pack of wolves?  False doctrine cannot bring forth good fruit.  Look around at many of the mega churches in your hometown.  There are thousands who attend these churches and they are the fruit of the prophets, false or not.   Don’t misunderstand this as judging those sitting under these prophets. No, no, no!  But you can discern the gospel being preached by the fruit it is bearing.  Not long ago I was speaking with a friend who attends a mega church here in my hometown who is, shall we say, “unequally yoked”.  During our conversation she made the statement that her kids go with her to church one weekend and with her husband to another church of another religion the next weekend and when they get old enough, they can decide for themselves which church they want to attend.  She is the fruit of this church.   I see pictures on Facebook that reveal the fruit of the false prophets and am burdened.  Please understand, I am NOT judging them, perhaps they are happy in their false doctrine and God will judge them.  It does appeal to their flesh after all.  I am burdened for those who are truly seeking deliverance and the wolves, the false prophets, are seducing them with false doctrine.  I pray for discernment for these brothers and sisters and that they follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and not man made schemes.

If your sin nature still has dominion over you and you are seeking deliverance, I pray for you to come to the understanding that faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is the only way we are delivered from our bondages.  When we are saved we are equipped to have dominion over our sin nature through the Holy Spirit because of our faith in Jesus’ finished work on the Cross.  After salvation, the false prophets and seducing spirits try to place our faith in other things that SEEM holy in our eyes but are not in God’s eyes.  Jesus Christ is the only One who is Holy in the eyes of God and it is because of our faith in Him, our unity with Him, that we are holy.  When our faith is moved from Jesus on to these other sacraments and sacrifices, we no longer have dominion over our sin nature.  We are still “equipped” if you will by the Holy Spirit, but we are not utilizing what, or in this case “Who” the Lord has given us to overcome our sin nature…the Holy Spirit.  Because our faith has shifted, the Holy Spirit can no longer give us dominion.  “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2.

There is absolutely nothing that can pluck us from the Hand of God (John 10:29) unless WE allow it.   The Lord is long suffering and will do everything He can to pull us away from man’s psychology gospel and back to His saving grace but we have to be seeking and willing to receive His Truth.  Look around the pews Sunday morning, not with a judging eye but a discerning heart.  What do you see?  Do you see a flock or a pack?  Do you see humble saints seeking deliverance or proud sinners seeking acceptance?  Once you discern this, DON’T judge them but know they are the fruit of the prophet who is preaching.  We will know them by their fruit.  – Donna Warren

Man Made Righteousness

“And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a Man with him until the breaking of the day.  And when He (God) saw that He prevailed not against him, He touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s this was out of joint, as He wrested with him.” Genesis 32:24-25.

I wonder just how many of us are going through a spiritual battle but it is not the devil we’re fighting.  There are many who have a sincere heart for God and the Truth but are going the wrong direction.  Sometimes we don’t realize Cain was a Believer in God as well, otherwise he wouldn’t have made an offer.  The problem was Cain offered what he thought was good in the eyes of God not what God PROVIDED for him to offer.  Cain’s offering was our first example of man made righteousness.

“And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?  If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.” Genesis 4:6-7.  We must also remember, God loved Cain just as He did Abel.  Abel’s offering was one of repentance while Cain’s was one of self righteousness.  The Lord continued to offer Cain dominion over the Earth if he would place his trust in the right Sacrifice…in the only Sacrifice God would accept.

Such is true today.  God continues to offer His promises to His children, if we will only have faith in the only Sacrifice He will accept – Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.  Our faith in our presumptuous decrees and socialist justification programs does not give us dominion over the world but makes us part of the world.  The seeker sensitive churches today don’t trust the Holy Spirit to draw the sinners but instead trust their programs.  They draw the sinners to a civic activity in order to identify and meet the needs of society and promote the common good of all humanity.  That sounds wonderful doesn’t it?  Cain thought so.  The problem with these “civic outreaches” is they encourage the negative aspects of human nature such as man made righteousness in exchange for greed and selfishness.   Instead of giving them a hot dog, changing their oil and telling them we love them while on their path to hell why don’t we do this…tell them the Good News of Jesus Christ, THEN the Holy Spirit can work in their hearts.  It is only when hearts get changed that society gets changed – not oil.  The Holy Spirit only works within the parameters of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified; He can’t draw the sinner under a false gospel being preached.  The Gospel of Jesus is the only way to break bondages.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22.  “be ye doers of the Word” means be ye doers of the Word.  When we are doers of the Word, the works will follow.  The works don’t produce the righteousness but the righteous produce the works.  This isn’t understood by the seeker sensitive churches because they are not spiritually discerned.  These churches aren’t lead by the Holy Spirit but by surveys and man made schemes.  Much of the masses’ Salvation remains in their head and has not been ascended into their heart because they are NOT sitting under the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified but under another gospel preaching another Jesus.  Just because scripture is being quoted does not mean it is the Gospel of Jesus.  Satan twisted scripture and is a great theologian…but he is still satan.

“Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?”  James 2:24-25.  Rahab’s faith produced works….not vice versa.  Jesus is the Author of our faith, the only requirement is our faith in HIM and His finished work.  As our faith is built, precept upon precept, line upon line; we too will receive the messengers and send them another way.

Is God answering our prayers by fighting with us?  Has He touched the hollow of our thigh to give us a humble and desperate heart for Him as we have pleaded for His Truth and Mercy?  Is it possible the problem is on our end?  Look to the Sacrifice – is it Jesus or is it us?  – Donna Warren

Hebraic Movement – Children of the Bondwoman

“Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” Galatians 4:30.

There is an irreconcilable conflict between Salvation by faith and Salvation by works yet their are still those who are picking up their sacraments and symbols and going to work.  Merriam Webster defines superstition as a belief or practice resulting from ignorance, fear of the unknown, trust in magic or chance, or a false conception of causation.   The Hebraic movement is nothing more than a superstitious ritual designed to deceive Believers and will lead them into self righteousness.  “But without faith it is impossible to please him:…” Hebrews 11:6.  It is simple faith in what Jesus did, the proper object of our faith as defined by God, that pleases God, not our superstitious observances.

Jesus, being born a Jew, was required by law to observe all aspects of the law.  The Lord Jesus Christ, was perfect and was the only One able to fulfill the Law and never sin.  Such is the reason HE is our sacrifice and the ONLY sacrifice God will accept…whether we do or not.  While The Law revealed sin, it also pointed the saints of the Old Testament to Jesus and Him Crucified.  Moses, through the Mosaic Law, was the mediator between the Jews and God.  It required men to act in order to demonstrate their (our) impotency.  Every sacrifice made in the Old Testament was a type and shadow of Jesus Christ.  It was through their faith in the coming redeemer, Jesus Christ, that they were part of the Abrahamic Covenant; not because of their bloodline but because of their faith in Jesus.  The Mosaic Law, given through Moses, was how the Jews (before Christ) were grafted into the Abrahamic Covenant – again, through their faith in the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ.

“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” Galatians 3:16.  It is through Jesus and His finished work on the Cross that we, the Jews and the Gentiles, are grafted into the Abrahamic Covenant.  Jesus Chris IS the New Covenant and it is only through our unity with Him that we are grafted in to Abraham’s Covenant.  What is the Abrahamic Covenant?  Simply put, it is justification by faith – faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.  “Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for Righteousness.” Galatians 3:6.  The Law, which served as the schoolmaster to the Old Testament saints, revealed the sin but could not save the sinner.  The New Covenant, our Covenant, to every man, woman and child, every nation and every race is through Jesus Christ because of His finished work.  He does not require action on our part as in the Old Covenant, He simply requires confidence in what HE did…not what WE do that He did.  God requires our faith in Jesus and Him Crucified.

Some may say this is making the Gospel of Jesus difficult.  If all that is required is simple faith in Jesus and His finished work, then why the long dissertation?  The answer is quite simple really.  It is the lack of understanding that leads others into participating in superstitious rites and acts, such as the Hebraic Movement.  Jesus participated in these feasts indeed but He did so to fulfill His mission for us, to atone for our sins, not for us to keep doing them.  No where in the New Testament does God nor Christ call for the Sabbaths and feasts (4th Commandment) to be observed.  All other nine of the ten commandments are mentioned in the New Testament.  The 4th commandment is the only one that did not involve moral law but ceremonial law.  The New Testament church (us) is not commanded to keep any particular day as a Sabbath or respect any day as being holier than the other for they are all to be holy unto the Lord (Romans 14:5-6).  It is unbiblical to teach that special days, times or seasons merit special considerations unto God.

The false teachers and false doctrines are the one’s wreaking havoc in the church today.  Test everything against the Word of God.  Discern whether it is carnal or spiritual before jumping in with both feet.  We are all accountable for our own salvation.  When the Lord asks, from where did you learn such and so, what will your answer be? Man or Him?  Seek Him.  – Donna Warren

Conditional Understanding

“And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” Colossians 1:20.

Today my husband made an interesting observation regarding this scripture that really witnessed to me.  On the Cross, Jesus reconciled all things on earth and Heaven; meaning at the Cross, Jesus addressed both man’s fall and Lucifer’s fall.  It seems that many times it is hard for us to understand both.  Either the Believer doesn’t understand THEY are fallen or they don’t understand Lucifer is fallen and continue battling him daily.

When we don’t understand we are fallen, we fail to understand our condition but recognize our position.  We run in our authority in Jesus’ name telling the devil just what he can and can’t do, while never understanding we too were fallen and Jesus chose to save us.  Jesus saved us from satan’s dominion because He is the only one Who can…we can’t.  The same is true today.  It is only through our faith in what Jesus did on the Cross that we remain dead to our sin nature through the Holy Spirit’s empowerment, not our empowerment.   Our authority in Jesus name is not to perform our will on earth but His will on earth – sorry, all you word of faith believers.  “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” John 5:19.  Jesus laid aside the expression of His Deity but never the possession of His Deity and set an example for us saying He could do nothing of Himself but what the Father did.

Then on the other hand, there are those who do understand their condition but fail to understand their position.  These Believer’s are often in danger of not seeing or understanding the joy of the Lord or the grace of God because of fear of the devil.  They remain defeated.  Please understand the meaning of “defeated”.  Remaining defeated spiritually is much different than remaining defeated carnally.  A person can be broken down, battered and bruised but their spirit can be at peace through faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.  Just because our body or our finances are in the storm…that doesn’t mean our spirit is. Hallelujah!!  Sorry again to the word of faith believers, prosperity is not always tangible.  Sometimes we are given a miracle of endurance instead of a miracle of healing, please read all the way to the END of Hebrews chapter 11.  “And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;” Hebrews 11:36-37.  Yes, glory to God, He is still in the miracle business but we must realize HE, is our reward!

The Cross of Jesus did address both the fall of man and of Lucifer.  We must recognize both to understand our true position in spite of our condition.  – Donna Warren
