“Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?  For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.” Romans 2:23-24.

The Hebraic movement has stirred up debates among Christians regarding the Sabbath day, as well as many other debates.  The root of this movement is doing exactly what the devil intended it to do, distract and deceive.   While many are distracted arguing over the law, there are souls dying and going to hell everyday.

“Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.  For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” Hebrews 4:1-3.

“For we which have believed do enter into rest…” Hebrews 4:3.  While some argue over the day of rest, others are in His rest.  Jesus Christ IS our Sabbath!!  We “observe” (for lack of a better term) this Sabbath, Jesus Christ,  through our faith in His finished work.  It is only through our belief in His finished work that we are able to rest…not ours.

If your rest is in the law, whether it be the Mosaic Law or any other man made religious law (Sabbaths, feasts, 40 days, 100 days…whatever the case may be), you have indeed failed to do the only thing which is required to rest – BELIEVE!

This Gospel we have been given was preached to Abraham 430 years before the Mosaic Law.  “And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.” Galatians 3:8.  We are justified through FAITH and because of our justification we can rest…rest in our Lord Jesus Christ, HE is our Sabbath. – Donna Clark Warren
