Do Ye Now Believe?

“For the Father Himself loveth you, because ye have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God. 28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. 29 His disciples said unto Him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. 30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask Thee: by this we believe that Thou camest forth from God. 31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? 32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave Me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:27-33.

So do ye now believe?  If tribulation takes away your peace, ye may in fact not believe.   Spiritual blindness cannot be revealed intellectually but only by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” Luke 4:18.   Please notice the Scripture says to “preach” deliverance to the captives and not to “deliver” the captives.  It does not say lay hands on them and they will be delivered, although the laying on of hands is a valid and Scriptural Doctrine in certain situations.  If someone doesn’t understand victory over the sin nature afforded us at Calvary’s Cross, then they certainly can’t believe something they do not understand.  If deliverance, the Truth of the Word of God through faith in Jesus, Who He is and What He has done, isn’t preached behind the pulpit,  all the Believer truly understands is hands were laid on them or Anointing Oil was poured on them and they were still not delivered which will always and without fail result in their faith failing.  Their sin nature continues to have dominion over them because they don’t understand their deliverance came on Calvary’s Cross through Jesus Christ…not through the Anointing Oil or the laying on of hands.  Now please understand this, you may understand the Anointing Oil and the laying on of hands is completely sound, Scriptural doctrine, in which I also believe.  However, what I’m trying to express, albeit poorly, that the Believer may not understand from where their deliverance came 2000+ years ago if the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is not proclaimed.  40 days of purpose, shemitahs and blood moons hasn’t delivered a single soul…only Jesus Christ delivered us from the dominion of our sin nature, preach Him.

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” 1 Peter 1:18-21.

God’s children are indeed being destroyed by lack of knowledge.  Deliverance is not being preached but practiced through the schemes of man, vain conversations and traditions.  “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: …” Hosea 4:6.  If the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is not built on Jesus Christ and Him crucified it is another gospel.  If the captives are to be set free PREACH deliverance to them instead of trying to deliver them.  The power of God is in the Cross of Jesus and it is there that the bondages were destroyed.  It is only with the Believer’s faith in Jesus and what He has done, that the Holy Spirit is commissioned to operate (Romans 8:2).  Even the most Scriptural doctrines being practiced will not deliver the captive if deliverance, the Truth, is not preached.  Again, I ask you, do ye now believe?  – Donna Warren
