“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.
Today’s social gospel believes in some sort of “evolutionary salvation” where as one’s salvation is developed. The light that shines glorifies the organization or the person and not the Lord Jesus Christ. The good works that people see pertain to oil changes and civic functions to lure the sinner to the church in hope’s Salvation will evolve through imitation.
This is not preaching Salvation, this is psychological manipulation. Proper faith in Jesus Christ will always produce good works which benefit and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and NOT the organization. The social gospels recruit the hirelings to recruit the sinners to convert more hirelings.
“But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.” John 10:12.
A hireling is hired to fleece the sheep, not protect the sheep. The social part of the social gospel appeals to the flesh. There may be many that pass through for the event but the only person that is being glorified is the organization and the hirelings. The name of Jesus Christ is never lifted up to the lost, The Gospel is not preached and deliverance is not obtained through Jesus Christ.
We, that includes you and I, cannot change the hearts of people. There is only One Who can change the heart of the bound and that is Jesus Christ. The born again experience only comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. When we believe in Jesus’ finished work on Calvary’s Cross and understand the price HE paid (death) and the reason HE paid (love) for our redemption, our regeneration…our born again experience, we will no longer try to win souls through imitation and evolution Salvation, which does not present the Gospel of Jesus but a scheme of man, we will boldly proclaim HIS Gospel, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2.
