“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Psychology is the science of mind and behavior.  Please let me be clear, the carnal mind is at enmity with God (Romans 8:7).  Why would a born again Believer study that which is at enmity with God?

God has given the Believer His Word and His Holy Spirit to guide us into all Truths and they will never contradict one another.

“⁸ Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

⁹ For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

¹⁰ And you are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power:

¹¹ In Whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

¹² Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead.”  Colossians 2:8-12.

It is the “circumcision made without hands” through our faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ that changes the heart of the Believer.  Our desires become His desires when we deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow the Lord Jesus Christ…not that which is at enmity with God.  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit.
