Growing in Grace

Growing in Grace17 You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18 But grow in Grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:17-18

If we are not growing in Grace, growing in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done on Calvary’s Cross to break the power of sin in the Believer’s life, we are falling from Grace…we are apostatizing.  Christ has become of no effect on us when we place methods of man to overcome sin above that which Jesus has done on Calvary’s Cross to afford us the victory over the world, the flesh and the devil.

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; you are fallen from Grace.

For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.

You did run well; who did hinder you that you should not obey the Truth?

This persuasion comes not of Him that calls you.

A little leaven leavens the whole lump.”  Galatians 5:4-9

Growing in Grace does not involve 40 days of purpose, sanctimonious ceremonies, denominational traditions or humanistic psychology to achieve your best life now.  Growing in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, growing in Grace, involves the stedfast faith that our Lord, Jesus Christ, has given us the victory…no matter the present circumstances.  During times of trouble, the circumstances do not suddenly become our god…God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is our God through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s Cross.  That reality does not change, even when our circumstances change UNLESS we fall from Grace and turn to law.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the Living God.” Hebrews 3:12

Hear me friends, do not partake in the lies of the devil.  An evil heart of unbelief is the believing the lies of the devil and not believing the promises of God.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  2 Peter 3:8-9

It is not up to us to know the time nor the reason…it is up to us, God’s Children, to occupy until He comes.  A human promise may be weakened over time but God’s promise is Everlasting.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”  Hebrews 13:8

Grow in Grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  He is not slack concerning His promise.
