Sanctify

Sanctify LetterpressHoliness does not sanctify evil but evil will corrupt and destroy holiness.  Fellowship with unrighteousness corrupts the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified making the Cross of Christ of no effect in the life of the Believer. Communion with darkness, even when presented as light and equated with Truth, renders the Cross of Christ as insufficient for daily life and living because it presents another way…another method, statute or philosophy to obtain holiness and righteousness.

If Jesus Christ is not the Source and His Cross the means by which we are imputed righteousness and holiness; our righteousness is corrupted…it is darkness.  Water baptism does not render one righteous.  Consecration to the Word of God does not render one righteous.  Both of these things should absolutely be done by the Child of God if at all possible.  (Not all Believers are physically able to be baptized in water…does that mean they are not Saved?  God forbid, no!)

However, it is faith in the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done for whosoever will believe, that imputes the Child of God HIS (Jesus’) Righteousness.  Our faith in the Cross of Christ is our only part in obtaining the Righteousness of Jesus.  When His Righteousness is imputed to the Believer It drives out and expels evil.  It (holiness) does not sanctify evil but expels and utterly lays it waste.  Precept upon precept and line upon line, that which is evil in our hearts, is circumcised without hands through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (Colossians 2:11) when our faith remains in the Cross of Christ for all that we need.  The Word of God is a  two edged sword. What It severs with one edge, the Word of God will also heal with the other (Hebrews 4:12).

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness?

15 And what concord has Christ with Belial? or what part has he that believes with an infidel?

16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My People.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Holiness expels evil…it doesn’t sanctify nor rehabilitate evil.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
