Sadly there are many who don’t blink an eye at sacrificing their child at the altar of satan.  Day in and day out parents consider their child’s talents, abilities, education, etc.; which of themselves certainly are not wrong, however the gross error is the failure in considering the condition of their child’s eternal soul.  Untold thousands, if not millions, of children are taught to depend upon their flesh (talents, abilities, education, intellect, etc.) to overcome the world, the flesh and the devil.  The ways of the world are in fact satan’s altar.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Child sacrifice is alive and well in the world today.  As flesh is fed and pride prospers among many hard working, well meaning and sincere parents, the thoughts of their child’s eternal soul  are never given any consideration.

“¹³ And they brought young children to Him (Jesus), that He should touch them: and His disciples rebuked those that brought them.

¹⁴ But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the Kingdom of God.” Mark 10:13-14

A child is totally dependent upon their parents to raise them in the ways that they should go.  If children are not raised knowing Jesus Christ as their Source and Calvary’s Cross as the means by which they maintain victory over the world, the flesh and the devil, then they are raised depending on their flesh.  That which has been fed all of their lives by Mom and Dad to overcome the world will ultimately fail them.  They will all too soon find as they search for “life” in possessions or activities that one’s life is not in the abundance of the things which they possess but IN Jesus Christ (Luke 12:15).

Looking unto Jesus Christ, even as a child, He will author and finish our faith.  Precept upon precept, line upon line, our faith is built in Him and not our abilities.  As a child, we learn of Who Jesus is and what HE has done for whosoever will believe and then walk in the ways of the Lord.  Our paths are then opened and footsteps ordered.  The Lord has went before us and prepared the answer in which we seek.  His Will and His Purpose are already prepared for our lives but it is our heart, each and every individual, which He contends with in preparation to receive Him as our Lord and Savior AND to follow Him as our Lord and Saviour.  Laying waste our talents, education and intellect daily in order to follow Jesus goes against every carnal mind’s desire to succeed in life but laying it waste we must.

“And He (Jesus) said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23

Suffer the little children to follow Jesus and forbid them not. If they are not taught to follow Jesus, the world will teach them to follow satan.  Consider in whom or in what they depend upon to succeed in this life.  That which they have been trained, is that which they will follow.
