Compelled to Decide

WALKINTHELIGHT-0822cc1

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the Light with you. Walk while you have the Light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not whither he goes.

36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, that you may be the Children of Light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and did hide Himself from them.

37 But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him:

38 That the saying of Isaiah the Prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who has believed our report? and to whom has the Arm of the Lord been revealed?

39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again,

40 He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

41 These things said Isaiah, when he saw His Glory, and spoke of Him.

42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on Him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” John 12:35-43

There are many in the church today who have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified as the answer for that which troubles them yet they reject His Answer because they love the praise of men more than the praise of God.  The weight of the conviction of the Holy Spirit as the Cross of Christ is lifted up as the Source and the Means by which the power of sin is broken and the powers of darkness pushed back is ignored for fear of being cast out of the synagogue.  The Light being with them (Jesus Christ is the Light), they are being called out from among the religious.  Those whose hearts have been judicially hardened, eyes have been blinded and their understanding of the Truth removed; the unprofitable servants whose talent was removed in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), are used of satan to praise those who walk in the Light of the Gospel in order to keep them among their religious sect.

When the Cross of Christ is lifted up among the people for the answer in which they seek, we are compelled to a decision.  We either decide to believe and walk in the Light or we decide to not believe and stay among the religious.  Ultimately we too will loose the Light we have been given due to unbelief.  Ultimately, just as the others, we will be sent a strong delusion if we choose not to come out from among them and be ye separated from those chasing after the latest doctrine being presented to the people as biblical doctrine.

“10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the Truth, that they might be
Saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

If we reject the Cross of Christ being lifted up to both the sinner AND the Saints as the means by which we live a victorious Christian life, we will be sent a strong delusion and be judicially blinded ourselves.

For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are Saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

At Calvary’s Cross Jesus broke the power of sin in the Believer’s life.  This power of sin I speak of does not necessarily constitute one’s own sin but the powers of darkness which come against the Believer. Be not mistaken, we all sin and fall short of the glory of God.  Jesus Christ came to save us FROM sin, not IN sin.  Whenever we fall short, we have a faithful God Who is just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness upon proper confession and repentance.

“7 But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.” 1 John 1:7-10

The Cross of Christ saves us from all unrighteousness when our faith is placed in Him.  Who Jesus is and what He has done for whosoever continues in their belief, gives the Holy Spirit latitude to place God’s Hedge of protection around us and superintend that hedge when the storms begin to form.  It is God’s Hedge of protection, not ours.

Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

The Lord is calling His People out.  Those who still hear the knock on the door. If you hear His Calling, come out from among them.  If you have come out from among them, pray for those who cannot hear; those who have rejected the Cross of Christ for daily living for God and have went the way of the world for their victory.  Theirs is the worst type of bondage because they cannot see their own chains.  Seeing they see not.

Evidence of True Faith

true-faith

True Faith is evidenced when the reality of sin and the need of pardon is recognized by the believing sinner.  This is not an intellectual nod to a theological doctrine but a fact which pierces the heart asunder when the Name of Jesus Christ is lifted up to the lost as their Lord and Savior.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” John 12:32

The drawing of the Holy Spirit when the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is given to the lost cannot be intellectual understood.  The witness of the Spirit of God to your spirit when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior that you are a Child of God is not a carnal experience that can be explained.  Some may “feel” nothing but they recognize a change…a new creature in Christ Jesus which is now born of the Spirit.

For the believing Saint, true Faith is evidenced when the reality of sin and the need of victory over sin’s dominion is recognized.  Jesus did not come to save us in sin but from sin.  Sin has no place in the Believers life.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14

This dominion over sin is not gained through 12 steps nor 40 days of purpose.  This reality of sin in the Believer is not to be ignored.  Lying to ourselves or God about the reality of sin in our life does not constitute deliverance from sin.  Abstinence does not constitute deliverance from sin.  Sin in a Believer’s life should be directly dealt with the same way it is dealt with upon Salvation…at the Cross of Christ.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.” 1 John 1:8-10

When the Believer stumbles (and they will stumble), it is the same recognition of sin and need of deliverance from it’s dominion that is evidence of true Faith in the Cross of Christ.  This doesn’t mean the Believer has lost their Salvation.  God forbid no!  As long as we believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior; that He and He alone paid the price to atone for our sin, we are Saved…miserably Saved, but indeed Saved.

Sin’s dominion is afforded the Believer by Grace, not abstinence which is utilizes self will to be obedient to a law (Romans 6:14).

For by Grace are you Saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

Again, sin has no place in the Believer’s life.  Sadly however, many Believers do not know how to live for God.  Because their faith is placed in their ability to overcome sin instead of the Cross of Christ for victory over sin, they are in a constant battle with self.  Stuck in Romans 7, they are under constant condemnation from man made laws and not the Grace of God through faith.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” Romans 7:18-23.

The modern church has left their First Love, Jesus Christ and sought other methods for dominion over sin.  The methods have left the Body of Christ under constant condemnation if they do not choose to ignore their sin.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death.” Romans 8:1-2

Recognizing sin as sin and seeking deliverance from sin by faith in the Cross of Christ gives the Holy Spirit latitude to do that which He and He alone is commissioned to do – free us from the Law of Sin and Death.  Because we have believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done to free the Believer from the dominion of sin, the Holy Spirit superintends the work of God in the Believer’s life enabling us to live unto God as we ought to live.  This is not a carnal event but a spiritual law which requires denial of self, not acceptance of sin nor acceptance of self will (abstinence) to overcome, but the complete and utter dependence on the work of Jesus Christ as sufficient to break the power of sin.

And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23

Judge Not

fullsizeoutput_b43

“33 But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Judge not, that you be not judged.

For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again.”  Matthew 6:33 – 7:2

Many believe that every peculiar blessing, or disaster for that matter, points to a particular sin or a particular work performed by the Believer.  While obedience and consecration to the Word of God results in blessing; this blessing is not afforded us because we spoke it or because of who we are but because of Who Jesus is and what He has done.

God is a blessing God; that’s Who He is.  Our relationship with God comes through the Blood of Jesus, His only begotten Son.  Our faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified, the Sacrificial Lamb of God, as sufficient payment for the penalty of our sin affords us this relationship with God.  The Creator of all, created mankind in His own image and wants to bless His highest creation.  Because He loves us, He sent His Son to wash us…to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  The Lord doesn’t love us because we are cleansed; we are cleansed because He loves us.

On Calvary’s Cross, Jesus paid the penalty of sin for whosoever will believe and broke the power of sin for whosoever does believe. The Resurrection of our Lord is proof that every sin is Atoned.  Right now, today, Jesus is alive and sitting at the Right Hand of the Throne of God making intercession for those who have believed upon Who HE is and what HE has done on the Cross to provide all that we need according to His riches in Glory.

Unknowingly, many do not choose to believe our Lord’s Sacrifice was sufficient to break the power of sin in their lives and resort to vain philosophies from the minds of man to gain this victory.  They themselves do not realize the evil of their own heart.  Seeing they see not.  Religious, they are wretched, miserable, poor and blind. They have need of nothing (Revelation 3:17-18).

The Righteousness exclusively of Christ, can only be gained by faith in the Cross of Christ.  This same Righteousness, which is exclusively of Christ, can only be maintained by faith in the Cross of Christ.  This is the Righteousness which affords us communion with a Holy God.   Partaking in Jewish feasts and festivals while wearing prayer shawls and yamakas does not afford one the Righteousness of God.  Only faith in the Cross of Christ affords the Believer the Righteousness of God; all else affords us self righteousness and communion with the world.

Fighting this good fight, the fight of faith in the Cross of Christ; seeking HIS Righteousness first, we are promised all that we need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus…THEREFORE, we are to judge NOT according to circumstances.  The most consecrated Believer in the world may be facing hell on earth and we best not deem their unpleasant circumstances a result of their lack of righteousness.   By doing so, we are declaring Jesus Righteousness as insufficient for the blessings of God.  Job’s friends are a dime a dozen.  Don’t be like Job’s friends.

On the other hand, we may see the religious being blessed of God.  I look back at the times I have stumbled and was caught up in the word of faith and thank my God above for His Mercy and Grace.  His blessing sustained me until my eyes were anointed with salve and seeing I could see; understanding, I understood…hearing, I heard.  The carnal Christians, those being led by their flesh, truly believe their blessings are dependent upon what they do.   I don’t mean that disparagingly but am speaking from experience.  The world looks to them and judges them as blessed and those who are without the world judges as cursed.  God forbid no!!

We are blessed because of Who Jesus is and what He has done.  The sinner and the Saint, from our first breath to our last, we are blessed because we either have eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord as a Saint or as a sinner, we still have the opportunity for eternal life through Christ Jesus if we choose to believe.  Life may indeed be a continuous hell on earth for the sinner but as long as they draw a breath and have an opportunity to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, they are blessed.  When the sinner closes their eyes in death and the gates of hell close behind them, it is a conscious eternity in a burning hell.  There is no more opportunity for Salvation, no matter what the Roman Catholic doctrine says…the Word of God says different.  Just ask the rich man who wanted Lazarus to touch his lips with water to quench his thirst.  The same rich man who beseeched the Lord to send the dead back to his brothers so they would believe, remains in hell to this very hour.  The Lord sent Moses and the Prophets, yet they did not believe.  Today, the Lord has given us His Word, the Holy Spirit and the Five Fold Ministry to declare “Thus saith the Lord…”.  If the sinner dies lost, there is devil’s hell waiting for him.

Judge not according to circumstances.  Judge righteously according to the Word of God.  Search the Scriptures to see whether things are so.  Try the spirits to see whether they are of God.  By all means judge according to the Word of God whether something is good or evil and act accordingly.  By doing so you are not judging one’s Salvation but simply discerning what the Bible has declared as sinful and separating yourself from such.  It is high time for the church to be the church; a light on the hill for the lost to recognize as those who have believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24.

Free Indeed

set free

28 Then said Jesus unto them, When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then shall you know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things.

29 And He that sent Me is with Me: the Father has not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.

30 As He spoke these words, many believed on Him.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue in My Word, then are you My Disciples indeed; 32 And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.” John 8:28-32

The sinner is called to believe on Jesus, the Believer is called to continue in His Word and you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free.  Sadly, many who choose to believe Jesus atoned for all sin on Calvary’s Cross, fail to continue in His Word and never come to the understanding of the Truth, the same Truth, makes us free from the power of sin.

Upon believing, the religious will present questionnaires, methods and various other philosophies to gain freedom from sin.  12 steps, 40 days, 100 ways, etc. all utilize the Believers efforts to “gain” the freedom which is freely given to Jesus’ Disciples upon continuing in His Word.  It is not a matter of “gaining” but “maintaining” in this Truth which makes us free; maintaining our faith in the Cross of Christ.  Fighting the good fight of faith in the Cross of Christ is the only fight of which the Believer is called to engage.  These other methods given by the well intentioned religious corrupt this Truth which makes us free and makes It of no effect.  It is the poison in the pot; the leaven which leavens the whole lump.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” 1 Corinthians 1:17

The Truth will make you free but we must maintain our faith in this great Truth that we have been given and not be swept to and fro with every wind of doctrine.  The Truth is Jesus Christ paid the penalty of sin for the sinner, broke the power of sin for the Believer, He is Risen and now sits at the Right Hand of the Throne of God searching to and fro to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him (2 Chronicles 16:9).  Seek Him.  Continue in His Word.  Be made free from the power of sin.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36

Labor Not For The Meat Which Perishes

lesson-on-prayer-1-12-728

21 Not every one that says unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that does the Will of My Father which is in Heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name? and in Your Name have cast out devils? and in Your Name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

Doing many wonderful works in the Name of Jesus is not the condition of entering the Kingdom of Heaven.  The religious world will have the people laboring and toiling in the world for things which are temporal.

26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, You seek Me, not because you saw the Miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27 Labor not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures unto Everlasting Life, which the Son of Man shall give unto you: for Him has God the Father sealed.” John 6:26-27

With their mouths, they draw near to Jesus because they have seen true miracles of God; they have eaten of the Bread of Life and were indeed filled but their hearts are far from Him.  Instead of seeking Jesus for the truth in which He came, Salvation for whosoever will believe, these workers of iniquity seek Him for their own purposes which always and without fail result in self righteousness.

This people draw nigh unto Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me.” Matthew 15:8

There are many religious/civic organizations which do many good works in a vain attempt to “connect” with the world and manipulate them into coming to see that they are “good”.  It’s called seeker sensitive and is the method of the world to attract business/customers.

However, this is not the method of God to draw the lost unto Him.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” John 12:32

The supposed success of these large civic/religious institutions is accounted to them by the carnal Christian as “right”.  Their “success” is equated with blessings from God.  I remind you, the Israelites were blessed of God in the wilderness but they were far from His Will.  We can never equate the blessings of God as His condoning of error.  The Lord is long-suffering and it is His Will that all will come to the knowledge of Truth of His Word…but the ax is laid at the root of the tree and it will be cut down and thrown into the refining fire.  This fire of refining will bring some to repentance but sadly, some will be lost.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17

The religious noise and endless temporal labor does not prepare the heart for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to draw the sinner to Salvation and the Saint to Sanctification.  This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit when the atoning work of Jesus Christ is lifted up to the people for all they need for life and living.  Mankind does not need to be manipulated through humanistic psychology in a vain attempt at mind over matter to motivate.  We need the Power of God to move on our hearts to do that which is of God; His Will and not ours. We need the Power of God to isolate that which is not of Him, so we can live unto Him.  This is the reason that Jesus Christ came.  Our Lord came to die on Calvary’s Cross to pay the penalty of sin for the sinner and break the power of sin for the Believer.  This power of sin can only remain broken by faith in the Cross of Christ, not faith in our mind over matter (self will). Abstinence is not deliverance.  There is freedom from the power of sin in the Cross of Christ.

Don’t allow religious racket to corrupt the faith once given unto you at Salvation.   Be determined to know nothing else among you, save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  The Cross of Christ is the Power of God unto us who are Saved, look unto Jesus…lift Him up.

For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the Power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

Stumbling Church

8319438414_a94e4083fbBut we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” 1 Cor. 1:23-24

To the Jews, it WAS a terrible offense. They were unwilling to accept that their Messiah would be crucified and His most distinctive act would be the Sacrifice of Himself to save whosoever will believe from eternal hell.

To the modern church, the Cross of Christ IS a terrible offense. They too are unwilling to accept that their Messiah’s most distinctive act would be the Sacrifice of Himself to save whosoever will believe from eternal hell.

The Jews stumbled and the modern church is stumbling over the Cross of Christ. For the modern church, their stumbling is not on theological grounds but on moral grounds. Jesus broke the power of sin in the Believer’s life when He willingly died on the Cross and His Resurrection is proof that every sin was paid in full. For one to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they have no excuse to willingly live under the bondage of sin because Jesus delivered us from sin. As a Believer, we are not yet perfected but sin no longer has dominion over us (Romans 6:14).  When we do have a problem, we take it to the Cross of Christ knowing the He broke the power of sin there, at Calvary’s Cross.
Such is why the modern church condones sinful lifestyles and chooses humanistic psychology as the means to live a victorious “Christian” life; they too have stumbled over the Cross of Christ.  His Sacrifice is an offense.  For the Jews, their Messiah being sacrificed was offensive.  For the modern church, their Messiah being sacrificed is offensive because it gives them no excuse to sin.  You will know them by their fruit and need to come out from among them.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” Matthew 7:15-16
