“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the Law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14
Be careful of judging others trials and tribulations as their measure of Grace according to one’s own opinion. Job’s friends are a dime a dozen. We know that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord (Romans 8:28). If the Believer is in fact being chastised, it is because the Lord loves them and His chastisement is meant for correction and not judgment.
We often see those whose sin has dominion over them and declare them unworthy. I speak here of Believers who truly love the Lord and not those who use God’s Grace as a license to sin. To see a Believer standing in the miry clay and declare they MUST abstain from that heavy clay which has them bound in order to follow the Lord exhorts them to place their faith in their strength get out of this miry clay. If such were so, the Cross of Christ was in vain. God forbid no!
“Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
Instead of pointing the bound to their strength for dominion over sin, point those who are bound in the muck and mire to the One Who can remove them from the bondage and set their feet on higher ground – Jesus Christ. The One Who came to die on Calvary’s Cross and now sits at the Right Hand of the Throne of God looking to and from to show Himself strong in those whose heart is perfect toward Him…Who HE is and what HE has done for whosoever will believe; THE ONE Who paid the penalty of sin for the believing sinner and broke the power of sin for the Saint – Jesus Christ.
Looking unto the Cross of Christ, our faith is authored as the Holy Spirit superintends the work of God in the Believer’s heart. The circumcision of our heart without hands is done by and through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Our faith is authored as sin’s dominion is removed and it’s desire taken away. Precept upon precept and line upon line, old things pass away and all things become new. We are a new creature in Christ Jesus and are now afforded the ability to partake in God’s Divine Nature because we know in Whom we have believed. When Jesus Christ declared It Is Finished, the veil was rent in the Temple and the throne of God made available to whosoever will believe.
Stop condemning those who truly love the Lord Jesus but are standing in the miry clay trying to get out on their own strength because some religious pharisee told them to “just say no” to that miry clay and it would go away. Instead of cursing the clay, bless the Lord and HE will bring them out.
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” Psalms 40:1-2
Bless the Lord oh my soul…oh my soul! He is worthy to be praised. He has brought this believing sinner out of a horrible pit and has established my goings…and He will do the same for whosoever will believe – wait patiently.
