DAMNABLE HERESIES

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of Truth shall be evil spoken of.

3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.” 2 Peter 2:1-3

The corruption of the Truth denies faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus for victorious Christian living and brings damnable heresies which result in the destruction of new converts or even Christians who are not well grounded in the Faith. These heresies are not brought in openly. No, not at all. They are brought in privily…obscurely. They are stealthy indeed and deceive the very elect.

These false prophets target new Believers and those who are not grounded in the Faith with their heresies and make merchandise of them with feigned words. They teach commandments of men as Biblical doctrine.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” 1 Cor. 1:17

Their feigned words make the Cross of Christ Jesus of no effect and cause the new converts and ungrounded to not believe in the Power of God. Their faith is not authored nor is it finished by Jesus but by these false prophets whose gospel is either witch craft or humanistic psychology cloaked in Scripture. Cursed by believing another gospel and another Jesus (Gal. 1:8-9), these heresies have resulted in spiritual defeat.

For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are Saved it is the Power of God.” 1 Cor. 1:18

We must all consider how we receive the preaching of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. If we, the professing ‘Christian’, believe It to be foolish we are perishing. Furthermore, if we do not believe there are false teachers and preachers among us and that we cannot ourselves be deceived, our faith is in our own intellect; our hearts have deceived us and we are among the heretics ourselves.

If you find this offensive, I’m sorry. The fact of the matter is it should scare you have to death if you do not see the heresies in the modern church. Seeing, you see not. the Bible repeatedly warns us of false teachers, other gospels and other Jesus’s being taught to HIS people causing them to fall away from the faith.

When I say I am determined to know nothing else among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified, I mean I am determined to know nothing else except Jesus Christ and Him crucified…just like the Bible says (1 Cor. 2:2).
There ARE false teachers and preachers among us. The heresies and doctrines of devils will easily sweep the Believer to and fro if we don’t know the Word of God for ourselves. The rightly divided, full counsel Word of God “…is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3:16).

As for me and my house…we will serve the Lord.
