“2 And the whole congregation of the Children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
3 And the Children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for you have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.” Exodus 16:2-3
Sadly, too many who have been Divinely spared from the world and separated for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified have died, will die or are dying in the wilderness due to unbelief.
Having looked back unto Egypt, it’s worldly ways are familiar and magnified in hearts of unbelief, while the wilderness is denigrated and reviled due to discontent. The Glory of the Lord being in the wilderness, they are too busy in the world’s precepts and murmur in their hearts against the Lord.
“11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:11-13
It is in the wilderness that the Glory of the Lord is made manifest to those whose heart is perfect toward Him. If we continue looking unto the world while in the wilderness, we will believe the world’s precepts and not the Lord’s.
The Cross of Christ Jesus has afforded whosoever will believe power over the world, the flesh and the devil…but not while we continue fornicating with them. The Believer must come out from among them and be ye separate. We must choose this day in whom we are going to believe and follow Him.
If we believe in our hearts, that the Cross of Christ is sufficient, God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. Too many use their weakness as a cloak to hide behind; an excuse for unbelief and they are not content in the wilderness.
When we decide this day in Whom we are going to believe, STAND…stand looking unto Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith, Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). STAND in the wilderness and behold the Glory of God.
The Israelites died in the wilderness due to unbelief. The Glory of the Lord is in the wilderness. Stand and behold the Salvation of the Lord…be determined to know nothing else among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
