PROCLAIMING OR PORTRAYING

“13 But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the Blood of Christ.

14 For He is our peace, Who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15 Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the Law of Commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain (two) one new man, so making peace;

16 And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the Cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.” Ephesians 2:13-18

Many proclaim their ability to obey the Lord but their portrayal is one of constant failure.

Why?

Because we attempt to abolish in our flesh the enmity; the wall of partition between us and God through various man made ordinances being taught by the church as Biblical doctrine. Such vain attempts to proclaim our ability to obey will without fail continue to lead to constant failure.

The Cross of Christ Jesus alone is the only way to the Throne of God. The veil has and is rent in twain. Jesus Christ did not come to bring peace to the world, He IS our peace.

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” Matthew 10:34

Jesus is the Believer’s peace. At Calvary He made peace between our Trice Holy God and fallen man. Before Calvary, any attempt to come into the presence of God by any means other than the sacrifice resulted in death.

Since Calvary, any and all vain attempts to come into the presence of God outside of the Cross of Christ, bringing Cain’s sacrifice to the altar, continues to result in death both spiritually and sometimes physically.

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3

They’re those who are mourning, those who are desperately seeking the Spirit of God for a touch from the Lord…those whose mouths draw near to the Lord but their hearts are far from Him. Their mourning is real. They truly love the Lord. Zealously they proclaim their ability to obey Him but their efforts have continually failed.

Why?

It is not the Lord Who has been planted in their hearts but another Jesus and another gospel has corrupted the Truth that was once given unto them. The Cross of Christ has not been glorified but their many wonderful works have been presented and they remain at enmity with God.

There is but ONE Way to God and that is through the Cross of Christ. This way does not change after Salvation but remains the same. Continue on the narrow path. Stay the course. Run this race with patience.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

There is ONE Way, ONE Truth and ONE Life, Jesus Christ and Him crucified….be determined to know nothing else among you.
