“2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; you are fallen from Grace.” Galatians 5:2-4
Living under the Dispensation of Grace does not constitute living under the Government of Grace. Furthermore, being Born Again (aka Saved, a Believer, Christian, etc.) does not necessarily mean one is living under the Government of Grace. Such is the reason for the Message of the Cross being brought to the churches at this hour. There are untold millions who are indeed Saved by Grace but they live under the Government of Law. They are bound by religion as they live a spiritually defeated life. Just as the Israelites were indeed Israelites in Egypt, yet they were oppressed by the power of the Egyptians, so too are Christians who are living under the Government of Law indeed Christians (providing they have accepted the finished work of Jesus Christ and His work ALONE for their Salvation) but are bound by the powers of darkness.
The Cross of Christ is the Double Cure. At Calvary, Jesus paid the penalty of sin for the believing sinner AND broke the power of sin for the believing Saint. The problem is, not too many Saints believe. They look at the Cross of Christ as Christianity 101; it’s rudimentary. I had a dear friend tell me once that we all understand the Cross of Christ is the center of Christianity. True. However, to be sure, what she was saying is the Cross of Christ is the center of Salvation. What she didn’t understand is that the Cross of Christ is the center of our Sanctification as well. It is there, at Calvary’s Cross (not the wooden beam but the work accomplished there by Christ Jesus), where the believing sinner and/or the believing Saint is placed under the Government of Grace. It is there that God’s Divine Grace flows uninterrupted into the Believer’s heart and all manner of carnal desires that are not pleasing to God are expelled by the power of God.
Grace demands faith. Without faith, we cannot please God. Enoch had this testimony (Hebrews 11:5). Under the Government of Law, the Cross of Christ becomes of no effect…we are fallen from Grace. Even those things which seem good; those new programs offered by the church to overcome sin and are dripping with Scripture are laws deceitfully designed to move the Believers faith away from the Cross of Christ and placing them squarely under the Government of Law.
Paul was not speaking to unbelievers when he told them they had fallen from Grace. He was not talking to the circumcised when he said the Cross of Christ had become of no effect. No, not at all. He was talking to Believers; to those who knew the power of God; to those who had seen the Salvation of the Lord but they did not stand still. They were turning back to their old ways; looking back to Egypt…to the law which appealed to their flesh but wrought in them all manner of foolishness – just as it does today when the Believer operates under the Government of Law.
Daily, we must all examine ourselves, whether we be in the faith or not…faith in the Cross of Christ. Daily, we must fight the good fight of faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Denying ourselves; our intellect, talents, willpower and abilities, we must pick up our cross and follow Jesus. Calvary’s Cross was a place of great suffering for Jesus but for us it is a place of great blessing. These great blessings is the cross we pick up. It is not a burden to pick up our cross and follow Jesus – His Yoke is easy. The hardest part of this fight is denying ourselves; having zero faith in our abilities and purposefully placing our faith in the Cross of Christ to provide exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think according to HIS Will and not our own.
As He molds us into His purpose, our faith grows deeper and stronger. Never looking unto the left or to the right; we know in Whom we have believed and are persuaded that He is able to keep that of which we have committed unto Him.
We are Saved by Grace through faith. We live by Grace through Faith…faith of the Son of God Who loved us and gave Himself for us. It is not us who lives but He Who lives in us. As we walk in the Government of Grace, signs will follow those who believe. Those who believe shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. They shall lay hands on the sick and they will believed.
There is a generation of Believers being raised up who are operating under the Government of Grace and I truly believe we are going to see the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit this world has ever seen. Examine yourselves and get ready!
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:” Acts 2:17
