GROW IN GRACE

“14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is Salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you;

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18 But grow in Grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:14-18

The long-suffering of our Lord is Salvation for whosoever will believe. His finished work on Calvary’s Cross is not foolishness but is the power of God. For the believing sinner, Jesus Christ paid the penalty of sin at Calvary. For the Saint, He broke the power of sin. The Blood of Christ did not loose it’s power once we were Born Again that we must resort to the foolishness of man to overcome the sin which so easily besets us. No, not at all.

It is our faith that has failed us…our faith in Jesus as the Source and His Cross as the means. Not fighting the good fight of faith, the ONLY fight the Believer has been commissioned to fight, we have been swept away with diverse doctrines.

Not understanding those things which are hard, many with itchy ears have heaped unto themselves false teachers and preachers who have twisted the Word of God to their own destruction. Sadly, they have been led away with the error of the wicked from their own steadfastness (vs. 16-17).

“28 Come unto Me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For My Yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Grow in Grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ; in WHO He is and WHAT He has done and you will find rest unto your weary souls. As the church buildings close across our nation and across our world, both the righteous and the unrighteous, the Bread of Life is still ours for the taking. He wants to come in and sup with you and you with Him.

“1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.” Psalms 46:1-4

The River is still flowing. His Yoke is still easy. Learn of Him. Grow in the Grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Be diligent that you may be found in Him without spot or wrinkle…be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
