“28 Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For My Yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.
The rest of the Believer is found only in Christ Jesus. He alone is our Sabbath and He bids us daily to come unto Him, take His Yoke and learn of Him.
The rest we find for our weary souls cannot be earned. We must:
🚫DENY OURSELVES – Deny our abilities, talents and intellect used to manipulate situations for our favor. Although these attributes are used with all sincerity and good intentions, they are in fact the heavy yoke we bear. This is the labor that produces death to the weary soul.
✝️ Picking up your cross – Our cross is His Yoke, not a burden we must bear. The Cross was a place of great suffering for Jesus Christ but for us who have believed upon Him for our Salvation, the Cross of Christ Jesus is a place of great blessing. It is this Yoke, HIS Yoke that we bear.
🚶♀️Follow Me (Jesus) – We cannot follow Jesus and learn of Him, learn of His Will and His Ways until we have denied ourselves and put on His Yoke. Then and only then can our weary souls find rest. Only then can we follow Jesus and learn of Him; learn of WHO He is and WHAT He has done for whosoever will believe. In His rest, we find the power of sin broken at Calvary.
“23 And Je said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:23-24
There is a rest for our weary soul; a peace beyond all understanding…even in this hour and it is found in the Saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. He is our Sabbath and He bids ALL Who will hear to come…come unto Him.
