What I thought was “an asset” turns out to be one of my greatest weaknesses.                         2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. ” I wondered what is my greatest weakness.  I have a strong Type A personality, competititve, ambitious and aggressive to name a few.  That’s not all that bad, is it?  Well, it is if we are also controlling and independent.

Being a Type A personality makes it hard to give up control when you have strived to be independent all of your life.  Now, all of a sudden I’m suppose to allow the Lord to be in control and be totally dependent on Him?  No one can ever convince me God’s not still in the miracle business!  When I finally gave up control, God showed me He not only cares about the big things in life but the small details as well.  The nuggets He leaves us that  we know only came from Him begins to increase our faith one step at a time.  Before you know it, you are completely dependent on Him.  Prasie God for His faithfulness.  He doesn’t have to prove His faithfulness to us, He’s already done all of the work.  It’s only because He loves us so much that He does take that “extra effort” to show us.  He wants us to prosper and do well, not just hang on until the end but we just have to have faith in Him also.  That’s all He asks for, is for us to believe and have faith in Jesus and the Cross.

The Lord wants to be in every part of our life everyday.  Praise Him for our strengths and let Him use our weaknesses to show the world His glory.  We don’t boast of our weaknesses or our strengths.  “Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do what is honorable, though we may seem disqualified.” 2 Cor. 13:7.  Jesus’ may have appeared weak on the Cross to the enemy but it was in fact His victory.  The enemy attacks our weaknesses and God wants to use those exact weaknesses to defeat the enemy in our lives.  God has already defeated the enemy, now He wants to help us defeat him as well…but we must let him.  Our weaknesses become our testimonies of what the Lord has done in us and for us.  Our weaknesses can help others become stronger in the Lord.  When we help others we become stronger in our wallk with the Lord.  2 Cor. 13:9 “For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. And this also we pray, that you may be made complete.”  Don’t allow the enemy to exploit your weakness, turn them over to God and let Him exalt your weakness and give Him the glory. – Donna Warren
