This is a repost from September. I no longer believe in irony but I do believe in timing. This is the first time I haven’t posted something “new”. I knew I wanted to repost this but I didn’t realize it was “exactly” a month ago. Thank you for the confirmation Lord!
We are ALL called but its up to us to decide. Did/does anyone else have their own “salvation” plan? I did. I had it all figured out myself. This was the plan: I, being invincible upon that mountain (of sand I might add), was living a life of hard work, a little fun here and there and of course the sorrows that this world dishes out daily. I knew that one day either death or the Lord would come. My plan was IF I got terminally ill, I would have time to get right with the Lord. Or, IF the Lord happened to come back during my lifetime, well I would just suffer through the tribulation. And as far as some type of “sudden death” – surely the Lord knew I was a half way decent person so He wouldn’t send me off to the fiery pits IF I died suddenly. The devil had me convinced “my plan” of salvation was infallible – I still had time.
You see, the devil didn’t tell me that WE, meaning ALL of us don’t have to live a life of “IF’s”. The great deceiver had me deceived! However, the greater I AM, Jesus Christ said not so fast. Matt. 18:12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?” Jesus came calling. Jesus already has our salvation plan; He IS our salvation plan. I’m just thankful God was patient and faithful with me when I thought I had it all figured out. It was His hand that kept watch over me all these years, not my “brilliant plan of salvation”.
I had taken the Bible, and “dumbed it down” if you will, to fit into “my salvation plan”. I knew Jesus but thought my salvation plan was more tangible; something I could understand in my limited capacity. My salvation plan was working out pretty good until that mountain of sand started getting washed away. I didn’t plan on that “IF”. Then Jesus came calling. Turned out He was calling me all along, I was just too far out in the wilderness to hear Him. He’s calling ALL of us, can you hear him?
When unbelievers begin to believe and believers begin to rise up to what the Word of God says about our life we begin to EXPECT miracles, signs and wonders. We no longer fit the Word of God into our life but fit our life into the Word of God…which is unlimited. EACH of our lives are a miracle in and of themselves. Yes, the Lord is calling ALL of us to be His saints. He wants to use each one of us to show His glory. None of us are perfect but we must be available. The choice is ours. – Donna Warren
