Saved by Grace

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10.

The same message that saves us is the same message that sanctifies us.  God’s Salvation plan is the same for every single person who ever lived, both before Calvary and after Calvary.   As a matter of fact, God’s Salvation plan is the same as God’s Victory plan, except one is for the sinner and the other is for the Saint.  God’s great plan of Salvation and Victory requires one thing, lest any man should boast, and that is FAITH; faith in the Sacrifice, Jesus Christ,  Who paid our sin debt to Him (God, not satan, God doesn’t owe satan anything).  Faith that the atoning Blood of Jesus Christ, shed on Calvary’s Cross, forever reconciled  the Believer to God and gave him power over sin.

The Mosaic Law never saved anyone.  It was used to indict humanity of their unrighteousness.  The Mosaic system was never meant to “exhibit” righteousness as many use it today in the Hebraic Movement.   God’s plan of Salvation has always been through faith.

Sadly, many in the world will never submit to God’s plan of Salvation.  As the “coexist” movement is making it’s way throughout the mainstream churches, we see many preachers now who say there is more than one way to God when in fact the Word of God says there is but ONE way and ONE way alone, Jesus Christ. ” Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6.

However, as we Christians are condemning the world for not accepting God’s plan of Salvation, there are many of us who have not accepted His plan of victory.  “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the Gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17.  It seems as though the sinner’s plan of victory is the same as the saint’s plan of victory but neither are God’s plan of victory, which is faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work to deliver the captives from their bondages and set the sinners free.  Instead, we readily accept God’s plan for Salvation but reject His plan for victory.  Schemes of man replace God’s victory plan.

” Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.  We are not able to “rest” in Him when we are constantly fighting the battle against sin.  Man’s methods didn’t defeat sin, Jesus Christ did on Calvary’s Cross.  Look to Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and He will break the strongholds.  I see many post regarding the devil “trembling when you wake up”.  If you think for a moment satan is scared of you, you better check that leaven in the lump.  Instead, wake up in the morning and rest in the fact that you belong to Jesus Christ and understand the devil can’t touch you unless God allows Him or you engage him.  satan is forever goading Christians to engage in warfare with him.  When we are constantly looking at him (satan) and engaging him in a battle Jesus has already won, we are taking our eyes off of Jesus.  Suddenly we find ourselves in quick sand and the harder we fight the further we go from the Light of the Gospel.

There is victory in Jesus…but it requires faith in Jesus, lest any man should boast.

The Cursed Christian

In the New Testament there are three (3) instances where a Child of God can be cursed.

  • “For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” Matthew 15:4.
  • “So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.  For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.”  Galatians 3:9-10.
  • “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.   As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9.

A Child of God cannot be cursed by a “family curse” nor can they be bound by a “soul tie”.  Family curses are indeed real but they are also indeed broken at the moment we are born again by the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.  Furthermore,  soul ties is an attempt by the false prophets to rename and redefine the sin of fornication in order to have their ritual or ceremony for deliverance.  If a child of God is being tempted by a family curse that has been broken, they take authority over that evil spirit in the name of Jesus and seek the Lord for deliverance from that temptation.  If a Saint does stumble and commits fornication, they repent and ask God for forgiveness.

These are things not told to those sitting under these teachings.  It would take away the ministry’s glory and status in the church.  Knowing this would cause the Saint who is in bondage to seek the Lord instead of the minister for deliverance.  However, knowing this will also cause the captive to be set free by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:32-36.

Faith in the Holy Spirit

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh , but after the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after flesh, but after the Spirit.  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-5.

When our faith is in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for our strength and power, our faith is in the “method” of our dominion over sin and not in the “means”, which is Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.  Before all of you Pentecostals, which I am one, break out your sack cloth and begin throwing dirt, hear me out.  I am a strong advocate of Baptism in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues.  I don’t wish to argue this point with anyone, if you don’t believe in Baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, don’t worry…you won’t get it.  As for me, it is too late to tell me any different, I already have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and I am thankful to the Lord.

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8.  When our faith is in the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin, we frustrate the work of the Holy Spirit because our faith is in Him (the Holy Spirit) and not in Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit will always point our faith to Jesus and never to Himself.  The law of the Spirit requires our faith in Jesus and Him crucified to make us free from the law of sin and death.  In other words, faith in our works (no matter how holy and righteous), in our self will or even faith in the Holy Spirit will hinder the work of the Holy Spirit.

Many Christian’s believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit will give us power to overcome sin, which He will but only when our faith is on Jesus and not the Baptism or Him (Holy Spirit).   Instead of yielding their will to God to overcome their sin nature, they would prefer their sin nature to yield to them through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Again, I stress, I am a big believer in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, it is the power to witness.  Upon our Salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to reside in our heart.  He does a work in our heart and we are born again. ” Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3.   Once we are born again, we are able, through the power of the Holy Spirit but with faith in Jesus and His finished work, to live unto God.  The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a completely separate experience.  “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:” Matthew 3:11

The mighty power of the Holy Spirit through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is something which is a precious gift to us who believe.  However, the Holy Spirit is grieved when we place our faith in His power and not in the Blood of Jesus…if it wasn’t for the Blood of Jesus, we wouldn’t have the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives today.  Once, in a Sunday School class, we were told to pray in tongues at least 15 minutes a day.  Being obedient, my husband and I prayed everyday for those 15 minutes or more.  The problem was our faith was placed on our prayer, on what “we” did.  The more we prayed, the more “revelation” we expected.  It was all about what “we” did.  There is nothing in the world wrong with praying in tongues 15 minutes a day BUT when you are doing it to gain something, for spiritual growth, etc. it is works.  My faith was place on my actions which was wrong, wrong, wrong.

“For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18.  I encourage everyone who isn’t Baptized with the Holy Spirit to seek the Baptism, read the Book of Acts and get ready.  I also encourage everyone who is Baptized with the Holy Spirit to be sure and not hinder the power of God by placing your faith in the power of the Holy Spirit instead of the Cross of Jesus.  The power of the Holy Spirit WILL set us free from sin and death but we must have our faith in JESUS, who He is and what He has done.  – Donna Clark Warren

God Speed

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.  If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 2 John 1:9-11.

There are many false teachers who do not understand who Jesus is and what He has done.  In their misconception they have created another doctrine, a man made doctrine, that causes the Believer to place their faith on their works.  For instance, if we stumble and sin, as Believers we hate our sin as much as we hate other’s sin and we come up with this method to overcome sin.  We fast, we read our Bible or we may even pray more in order not to fail again. First of all, let me say this, EVERY Christian should be doing all of those things.  They are all part of our Christian walk.  However, if we are doing them to overcome sin, they are works.  There is absolutely nothing we can do to overcome sin except look to the Cross of Jesus and know that you know that you know that Jesus broke the power of that sin and humble ourselves before Him and submit our will to His will.  It is because of our great Salvation that we are able to submit our will to God’s will.  Before we accept Jesus into our lives, we are spiritually dead and have no means to “live unto God”. “For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.”  Romans 6:10.  Now that we are able to submit or yield to the power of God by our faith in Jesus and His work on the Cross (1 Cor. 1:18), that is how sin is overcome…not by our self will or efforts.

Some have stated that faith without works is dead. “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” James 2:17-18.  Proper faith will always produce good works, fruitful works.  The problem is, religion tries to keep the Believer so busy in unfruitful works (distracted) in the social gospel while helping them overcome sin in the psychological gospel that Jesus becomes the Man who died on the Cross 2000+ years ago or is soon coming.  This results in the Believer being active and the Holy Spirit inactive in their life because their faith is in their works and not His (Jesus’) works (Romans 8:2).  If we yield our will to God and submit ourselves to Him, not religion, not false teacher or preachers but to God, HE will place His will in our hearts.  We will want what He wants.  The Lord will mold us into His will and His purpose for our lives and then our works are truly “good works”; they are fruitful.  These good works are not found in a class or a questionnaire but in the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.  Flesh will birth flesh.

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.” 1 4:1-3.

It seems as though many Christians know this scripture but for some reason they don’t believe it.  Maybe they are too proud to admit they have been following such doctrines.  I fell into them.  They are seducing spirits, not red flag spirits.  However, the Holy Spirit began to prick my heart and I began searching the scriptures, comparing them to what I was being taught and realized my faith and my focus was being pulled away from what Jesus has done and placed on things of the flesh and what I could do.  I am thankful to God for His faithfulness.

If you know a false teacher is false but continue sitting under their teachings you are partaking in their evil deeds.  I have often heard “no one has it all right”.  I submit this to you, the Word of God has it all right and when the full counsel of His Word is rightly divided, the Holy Spirit will lead us into all Truths.  We search the Word out for ourselves and by not doing so and condoning the false teachings we are leading another generation into apostasy as well and their blood will be on the hands of those who supported those ministries.

God speed to those who are determined to know nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  These are perilous times.  Discern the doctrine you are sitting under and the works you are doing.  Do they glorify the Lord and lift up the name of Jesus or do they glorify the church and lift it’s name up?  The works you are doing, did God place them on your heart or did the church?  Yes, we are to help others – absolutely!  If God puts it on your heart to help someone, we should certainly do so.  I have been on the receiving end of such blessings.  However, just realize it is only because I was “living unto God” that I knew that blessing was from God.  Otherwise, the person or the entity would have been glorified.  I was thankful to the person for obeying God but thankful to God for the blessing.

If the doctrine of faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified has been added to or redirected, it is a false doctrine which can lead to the loss of one’s soul.  If there is poison in the pot, turn away from the pot and seek the Living Water – Jesus Christ.  – Donna Clark Warren

Law of Grace

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14.

If we believe God’s grace to be lenient on sin, we have turned God’s grace into a law of man.  The law of grace, just like any law, is external and doesn’t change a heart.  This law of grace is rampant in the social gospel churches whose favorite Bible verse is Matthew 7:1 (I’m gonna make you go look it up).   It is the feel good gospels that find no fault in the other feel good gospels, who have diluted the Gospel of Jesus Christ so much  that the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus is considered legalism.  Their favorite quote is “no one has it exactly right”.  If this is the case, why then are we studying their teachings?  Why would we not study the Bible itself?  Isn’t that akin to the slot machine that promises to pay out 98%?  They are telling us we are going to lose at least 2% but we continue to put our money in there.  How much of the Truth of the Gospel do we lose?  Why do we listen if we know there is poison in the pot?

It is not God’s grace that is lenient on sin but man’s law of grace.  Once we are born again, God’s Laws are written on our heart and the Holy Spirit convicts us when we sin.  I have often said and will say it again, as a Saint, we hate our sin as much as we hate the sinner’s sin.  It is our faith in Jesus’ finished work that allows the Holy Spirit in us to give us power over sin (Romans 8:2).

If you are finding grace to be lenient on sin and not more strict on sin and you look around the church pews and see no victory over sin, discern the root of the grace.  Is it external or internal?  If you don’t know the difference, it is external.  Now there is a choice to be made and it is your choice, prayerfully consider.

“The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him; and He will shew them His Covenant.” Psalms 25:14

Die to Self

“For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” Romans 6:10-12.

A sinner is called to believe that Jesus Christ paid our sin debt to be saved.  A Saint is called to fight the good fight of faith that Jesus also died to give us victory over our sin nature.  We are given this victory over our sin nature at Salvation but it is maintaining this victory that requires fighting the good fight of faith.  We know Jesus gave us this power over sin but we find we cannot live the holy and righteous life we are called to live.  We have no victory in our Christian walk.  The TV preachers will motivate us for a couple of days until we can get to church on Sunday morning where we are given the method to “deny ourselves” as the scripture says but we struggle everyday with the lusts thereof.  We must die to self, we must crucify ourselves to be holy.

Well, I have some good news for you.  I’m here to tell you that you do not have to “die to self”.  Before you run get your sack cloth and ashes, please allow me to explain.  “Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24.  Denying one’s self is not dying to one’s self but denying our self efforts or self will.  We have no power in our own self efforts or self will to deny sin.  If we could deny sin, Jesus’ death was in vain.  We must deny our self sufficiency and (here it goes) YIELD to God.  Stay with me here….

Before our Salvation, before we are born again by the shed Blood of Jesus Christ, we were unable to yield to God because we were not yet “alive unto God”.  “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:11.  It is not until we are born again that we are spiritually alive.

Knowing that we are unable to deny the sin nature on our own, hence the Cross of Jesus would not have been necessary, and that we are now alive unto God, we are now given the ability to yield our mortal bodies unto Him instead of satan.  Regardless of satan’s power, he has no power over a child of God who is yielded to the Lord.   Realizing that satan has no power of over one’s self is a peace that can only come from on high.  Will he try? Absolutely.  Will he tempt you? Sure.  Will God test you to build your faith? Yes. But, knowing that you know that you know that Jesus’ Sacrifice on the Cross was not only for Salvation but for dominion over sin as well and now that you are a born again Believer you are alive unto God and now have the ability to yield to God’s power instead of satan’s…that is enough to make you shout Hallelujah!!! Quit fighting the battle of trying to “die to self” and instead begin yielding to God.  Be ALIVE unto God through Jesus Christ.  It is there we find the Resurrected life He has given us.  The finished work of Jesus was to give us this ability to be born again and alive unto God, yet we are choosing to be born again and alive unto flesh when we continually fight the flesh.  Yield to God, that is where our faith is built and our victory given and it is all because of Jesus Christ.- Donna Clark Warren

Turn Away

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those who are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth.” 2 Timothy 3:1-7.

I am finding when we disagree with others doctrines, the offense comes when compromise is not achieved.  The Endtime Church has been corrupted with compromise.  They preach the Cross of Jesus for Salvation and man’s ways for sanctification.  Thus they claim the  Blood of Jesus is the glue which holds us all together, so we are all saved (which of course is true) but spiritual growth comes in many different ways (Hebraic Movement, Purpose Driven Life, psychology gospels, etc., etc.).  We’re all different they say.  I say, the Word of God says that is spiritual adultery and from such “turn away”.

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10.  If you find yourself offended because there is division among you, please understand it is because you are not of the same mind and same judgment and the Word of God says from such turn away.  – Donna Clark Warren

Reconciled to God

Since the fall of Adam man has needed a Sacrifice for sin to be reconciled to God.  From then until now mankind has tried to add to and change the Sacrifice God required.  This Sacrifice was for our benefit, not His.  The Sacrifice reconciled us to Him so we could be afforded all of the promises of our Father.  His providence, His strength, His power, His healing – mankind is provided these things and so much more because of the Sacrifice made.

In the Old Testament it was sacrifices of bulls and goats.  The sinner would lay their hands on the innocent animals head, symbolizing the transference of their sin to the sacrifice.  The sinner’s faith was on that Sacrifice for reconciliation with God.  They knew if their Sacrifice was not accepted, they would not be reconciled to God.  The blood of the bulls and goats atoned for their sin (restored fellowship with God) but did not remove sin from their account.  There is but One Sacrifice that removes sin from our account and that’s the Lord Jesus Christ.

My point is this, man has always needed a Sacrifice to be reconciled with God and their faith was always in the Sacrifice and not their works.  “For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.” Romans 4:2-4.  Abraham was accounted righteous because of His faith, not because of his works or the Mosaic Law which wasn’t even in existence yet.

I had someone tell me there is more to our Christian walk then just the Cross of Jesus.  She felt like I always wanted to argue when feasts, blood moons, shemitahs and every other wind of doctrine that has come down the pipe was brought up in conversation.  In reality, I wasn’t trying to argue but explain one simple truth.  I was trying to explain that I prefer to keep my hands on the brow of my Saviour, Jesus Christ, the only Sacrifice without spot or blemish that God will accept for my sins.  My faith remains there, at the Altar that His Blood Sanctified.

The sinner needs a Sacrifice to be reconciled to God and our Sacrifice is Jesus Christ.  Whatever else we may bring to the Alter is strange fire.  There is not any more to “it” then faith that the Sacrifice atoned for our sins once and for all.  We can glory in God or we can glory in man but we can’t glory in both.  Because of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, we now worship in Spirit and Truth, not rituals and ceremonies.  The Lord can tolerate our spiritual weakness but not our willful ignorance.  He will build our faith when our faith remains on the Sacrifice, Jesus Christ but not when we “go further” then the Sacrifice. -Donna Clark Warren.
