“⁵ Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water (natural child birth) and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. ⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:5-6

The Babylonian spirit is nestled quite comfortably in the modern church.  She leads the carnal Christians and the unredeemed down many roads to victory over the world, the flesh and the devil.  In her is found corrupted gospels designed to seduce the unlearned into her methods of salvation and sanctification.  None of which have paid the penalty for sin or can break the power of sin but offer a false salvation to the unredeemed and comfort them in their bondage.

Because of man’s unredeemed state,  we cannot come in to the Kingdom of God but by the Spirit of God.  Jesus Christ is the Source and His Cross the means by which we are redeemed unto God.  HE is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no man comes to God but by Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

This spirit of Babylon is never offended unless the Cross of Christ is given as her plumb line and her works are quickly laid waste.  Religion is ensconced in the Babylonian spirit.  Sadly, most denominations are seated deep in religion and are too often hindered from the simplicity of the full Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified by their denominational doctrines. The Cross of Christ strips away self efforts, exposes the religion which attempts to espouse the Believer to another jesus and is an offense to those who have been seduced by Babylon herself.

The simplicity in Christ causes the religious to stumble and the world to render as foolishness.  The Child of God who is grounded in Christ Jesus by simple faith in His redeeming work for all that they need, confounds the Babylonian spirit causing her to flee.

The Redeemed of the Lord will stand still because Jesus Christ has gone out before us and won our battle.  We know in Whom we have believed and have rendered Him more than sufficient and worthy of our praise.  The only fight we are commissioned to fight is the fight of faith…faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  We are not to be swept to and fro by the spirit of Babylon offering us silver and gold.

“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2

Recognize the Babylonian spirit by her offense to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
