For those who are Saved, resting in the finished work of Christ Jesus is a peace beyond all understanding. This resting is a display of faith; of knowing that you know that you know in Whom you have believed and are fully persuaded that He is able to keep hat which we have committed unto Him.
This resting is not a license to sin. No, not at all. So many of the self righteous and religious accuse we who daily believe in the Cross of Christ for the answer to our dilemma of condoning sin…to which I say that by your accusations, it is evident that you do not understand the Grace of God. It IS sufficient. It DOES give you dominion over sin when our faith is properly placed in the Cross of Christ.
“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under Grace.” Romans 6:14
Actually, you who accuse us of such are the very ones who seeing, see not and neither do you understand.
“Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.” Matt. 13:13
Resting in the finished work of Christ Jesus, we no longer have to sin. Sin’s Dominion has been dethroned by the Holy Spirit Who is progressively circumcising our heart and superintending the work of God in our hearts.
Are we perfect? Of course not…and neither are you. When we do stumble, the Holy Spirit quickens our spirit, we are grieved and we repent.
“9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.” 1 John 1:9-10
I’m not telling you it’s ok to sin. I’m telling you that you don’t have to sin but the only way to do the not to do is to rest in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Be determined to know nothing else among you.
