“22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.” Luke 16:25

For the children of the world and many carnal Christians, their ‘all’ lies in their hand. That which they currently possess or are striving to possess, their ‘good things’ is their all. Sadly, they have no hope.

“14 Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Cor. 4:14-18

The Child of God, we who look unto Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, our ‘All’ is eternal and is not yet seen. Our ‘All’ has gone before us and has prepared a place for us and it is there where our treasures are laid up.

While we look at the world and their current possessions, we must realize that IS their ‘all’. Their best life is in fact now. Their ‘all’ is in their hands. This should break the heart of the born again Believer and not exalt their religious pride. We too were once without hope. Our ‘all’ was once our current possessions or the possessions we were striving night and day to gain.

“19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matt. 16:19-21

Where is your ‘All’? Do you currently possess your all? Are you striving to possess your all? …or does your All possess you? Are you IN Him and He IN you?

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:19
