The Sacrificial System then and the Sacrificial System now is the ONLY answer to failure. The blood of bulls and goats could not take away sin from fallen man. Born of the seed of man, we are all born with a sin nature. This sin nature rules and reigns in the hearts of all the unredeemed. Even the good that they do does not come from a place of righteousness and holiness but unrighteousness and pride. It makes them feel good to do that which seems right but the fruit is self righteousness. Such is why this writer often grows weary of the “good” done around this holiday season. The stench of the rotten fruit is often overwhelming as the leaven begins to leaven that prideful heart. I know this because I used to bear this fruit myself and loved the accolades of doing “good” in front of man.
This doing “good” among the heathen is more easily recognized by some, albeit not many. However, the same good works are more often than not offered by the local church who seeks to promote themselves instead of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified; the only answer for fallen man…God’s Sacrificial System which took away the sin of the world for whosoever will believe. The modern church claims these charity events are to get the people in the church so that they may hear the Gospel but what they are doing is trying to get people in the pews to pay their tithes. Don’t get me wrong, we should all pay our tithes to the work of God; NOT to the work of man. Let me tell you something friend, you tell people the Gospel…and trust the Holy Spirit to do what only HE can do in the hearts of man and HE will draw them to the Truth.
So many of us have had to leave our local church because they were preaching another gospel and another Jesus. The Holy Spirit drew us out the door because Jesus was on the outside knocking.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My Voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The entirety of the Bible is about the Sacrificial System; namely Christ Jesus. The blood of bulls and goats atoned for man’s failure but did not take that failure away from our account. The Saints of old were reconciled to God by the Sacrificial System which was symbolic of their coming Messiah, but could not pay the price for their Redemption.
It took the Sacrificial Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, born of the seed of woman and without a sin nature to pay the price for our Redemption. This wasn’t a “small thing” Christ did. He was and is and will forever be the ONLY Sacrifice God will accept for our Redemption. Anything we add to or take away from His Work, corrupts the Truth and makes it a lie. This includes adding water baptism or church membership as a requirement for Salvation. That Jesus is another Jesus whose work was not sufficient for our Redemption and therefore requires additional work on our part and is an abomination in the Eyes of God.
The Sacrificial System is still in effect today. It restores fellowship with God and Redeems us unto Him forever more. This Sacrifice has been made 2000+ years ago by Jesus Christ. The penalty of sin paid and the power of sin now broken, Jesus Christ sits at the Right Hand of the Throne of God searching the earth to and fro for those whose heart is perfect toward HIM, Who HE is and what HE has done…not what we have done, our church has done or our community has done.
The time of playing church has come to an end. Judgment must begin at the House of God. Those who have ears to hear are coming out from among the religious as the Holy Spirit calls them back to their first love; to the Sacrifice Who bought them with a price…a High Price. Jesus Christ and Him crucified, be determined to know nothing else among you.
But this Man (Jesus), after He had offered one Sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the Right Hand of God;” Hebrews 10:12
