Mishandling the Word of God results in spiritual death. Many have merely given a nod to the Message of the Cross for daily living unto God and remain spiritually defeated. As the preachers and prophets have run through the camp lifting up the Cross of Christ so that you may live and not die; you have politely acquiesced. The mote in your eye has blinded you. Sin, taking occasion by the law has revived and they have died…spiritually died.
Because the sin does not fall under the ‘big 5 sins’ of the flesh (drinking, smoking, homosexuality, fornication and gambling), they don’t recognize the dominion of their sin nature. They are deceived…sincere but still deceived. Religion is the worst bondage of all because sin is seen as good. The religious rites and commandments wrought in the Believer all manner of spiritual death because it is not of faith and cannot produce fruit unto God. The root is of pride and self righteousness, yet the Believer seeing, see’s not.
“14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:14-15
When the Cross of Christ is being lifted up to the people that they may live and not die, it is not just for the lost. No, not at all. It is for every born again Believer who hears. It is the power of God for us who are Saved and foolishness to those who are spiritually dying.
Yes, when the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified comes through your camp just as it did mine, your religious rites and ceremonies are laid waste. The plumb line of the Cross of Christ has showed my ways, my intellect, abilities and talents as foolishness and caused this writer to turn DAILY from my good intentions and sincere ways. Do I still fail the Lord? Mind your business. Do you?
We must all consider how we receive the preaching of Jesus Christ and Him crucified for daily living. Is it foolishness? Do we consider it insufficient as we move forward in our flesh to do our part? Our part is wrought with sincerity and good intentions but it is still wicked from a root of pride.
The time has come. The Cross of Christ is at hand. Look and live. Be determined to know nothing else.
Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto Him as righteousness. Without faith we cannot please God but it is the Object of our faith and not the amount of faith which pleases the Lord. We are all given a mustard seed of faith at Salvation and it can indeed grow into a tree of righteousness as it is continually watered by the Word of God and the Lord gives the increase. Our faith in Jesus as the Source and His Cross the means for all that we receive from the Lord is the faith that pleases God and HE gives the increase.
As the Message of the Cross girdles this globe, there will be many who hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the churches. Once we hear, we have a decision to make. There are many who have been riding the fence for far too long. A strong delusion is on one side and the Cross of Christ is on the other. Will you be made free? The answer that you seek is in the Cross of Christ. Seek Him while He may be found.
