Charge to the Rich

Treasure17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Being wealthy is not a sin.  Being highminded and trusting in one’s wealth as the source of life and living is the sin.  Some even suppose that Godliness is a source of financial gain and from such the Believer should turn away (1 Timothy 6:5).

The riches we are given by God should be used to help take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.  As much as I love the United States the world does not need the US, they need God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; not Buddha, not Mohammed…they need Jesus!

And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”  Matthew 24:14

Treating the symptoms of sin is like putting a band-aid on the Hoover Dam. Such is the case with so many ministries who build schools and orphanages but do nothing to spread the Gospel of Jesus.  Building schools and orphanages is a good thing, please don’t misunderstand.  However, unless there is dominion of sin in the lives of the people, all of those “good works” profit the work of God nothing.

There is only one answer to sin’s dominion and that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross to pay the sin debt for whosoever will believe AND to break the power of sin in the Believer’s life and living (Romans 6:14). NOTHING man can do will break the power of sin in one’s life except child like faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Who gives freely victory over sin. First the church needs to get this and then the church needs to take this Gospel to the World.

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”  Matthew 6:19-21

If  “Godliness” is a source of financial gain, you are laying up your treasures on earth. Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  Trust in the Living God, Who shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Jesus Christ is the Source and Calvary’s Cross the means by which all of our blessings come…not filthy lucre.

Heaven and Earth Shall Pass Away

slide_5215 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the Will of God abides for ever.

18 Little children, it is the last time: and as you have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”  1 John 2:15-19

The lusts of the world will pass away with the world: but he that does the Will of God endures forever.  Satan is the head of the world’s systems and those who rely on the systems of the world as their source are not of God.  Those who have turned their back on God’s Divine Law of Grace through faith in Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done on Calvary’s Cross, are being made manifest.

Even now there are many “little gods”, the pseudochrists, who claim to be of Christ, yet deny the power of God through their unbelief.  Their source is of the world (self efforts, self will and humanistic psychology) and not faith in the redeeming work of the Son of God – Jesus Christ.

Hear me friends, they are being made manifest to us.  Those who have followed the world into false doctrines and precepts of man are being made manifest. They who boldly declare from the pulpit that they are little gods are being revealed to the congregation that they were not all of us.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the House of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the Gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17

There are some who need to awaken from their slumber and decide this day in whom they will follow.  Only they who do the Will of God will abide forever.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8

God’s Will is for none to perish but all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).  To those who are perishing, the preaching of the Cross of Christ is foolishness but to those of us who are saved it is the Power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18 ).

The Lord is sending out His messengers declaring the Cross of Christ for Salvation and Sanctification.  Recognize how you, whoever you may be, receive this Gospel Truth.  This is not a “new extra biblical revelation” it is the same Gospel that the Apostle Paul declared through out his 14 epistles.  Don’t dismiss the messengers the Lord is sending to you.  Discern the messengers. Test the spirits. Study to show thyself approved. Know that you know that you know in Whom you have believed.  God will show you great and wonderful things if you will follow in His Will and His Ways. The Lord has chartered the path for each of us to follow.  Seek and ye shall find.  Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life…no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Another Gospel

Galatians 1-6 You Are Leaving The Gospel Of Grace sageI marvel that you are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of Christ.

But though we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”  Galatians 1:6-8

Many religious organizations today preach, teach and declare another gospel.  This gospel is known as universalism and its moral authority is political correctness.  It condones that which God has declared evil. Their message of grace is an unconditional acceptance of sin. This grace is not of God but of man.  Just to be clear, man does not determine what is sinful. God alone has declared and judged sin as sin and the penalty of sin is eternal death.  Whether we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour determines who will pay our sin debt.

16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18.

God has made clear His Ways in His Word, whether we believe and then follow the Lord Jesus Christ is up to us.  However, before we can follow the Lord, we must deny ourselves (Luke 9:23), which the gospel of universalism/political correctness will not allow denial of self.  They in fact would call self denial evil.

The answer to what the politically correct universalist declares as sin is found in humanistic psychology with another Jesus as an example of victorious living.  The ministry of the Holy Spirit is completely removed as they look to self for victory through the precepts of man.  With their mouths they worship God but their hearts are far removed from Him.

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor Me, but have removed their heart far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men:”  Isaiah 29:13.

As a Child of God, the Lord has charted our course, not us.  It is up to us to seek Him and to follow Him…but we first must deny ourselves.  Our self efforts and self will to overcome, condone and except that which God has declared sinful is not the way of God but the precepts of man.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14.

We either believe Matthew 7:13-14 to be true or we believe it to be a lie.  Enter ye in at the strait gate.

Depart From Me

Depart from me21 Not every one that says unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that does the will of My Father which is in Heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name? and in Your Name have cast out devils? and in Your Name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

Self righteousness justifies self.  Any message that does not require denial of self and allows room for “self improvement” is iniquity.  Until we deny ourselves, our self efforts and self will, we cannot accept what Jesus has done on Calvary’s Cross for victory over the power of sin. It is not possible to overcome sin in our own efforts and have faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at the same time.  We are practicing iniquity.

For by Grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9

The criteria for Salvation and Sanctification is not prophesying in the name of Jesus. Casting out devils is not the criteria for Salvation and Sanctification.  Doing many wonderful works in the name of Jesus does not justify one’s self.  Anything we or anyone else does to justify ourselves or another is iniquity and will always fall out to self righteousness.

You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”  James 2:19-20

Many believe in God but have not accepted Him as their Lord and Savior.  They don’t believe in their heart that the work Jesus Christ has done on the Cross saves them from eternal damnation.  You will know them by their fruit because their works are dead…their works are iniquity in the eyes of God.  It is not that they (the workers of iniquity) don’t “work” but their work is unprofitable (dead) because their faith is dead. Proper faith will produce proper work.

33 And He (Jesus) answered them, saying, Who is My mother, or My brethren?

34 And He looked round about on them which sat about Him, and said, Behold My mother and My brethren!

35 For whosoever shall do the Will of God, the same is My brother, and My sister, and mother.” Mark 3:31-35

Not everyone who proclaims to be a Christian is a Brother and Sister in the Lord. Beware of those who work iniquity.

Power of God

The-Power-of-God-cover-photo17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

18 For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:17-18

The Word of God is effectual.  It WILL produce It’s intended effect when It is not diluted into a translation of man’s thought.  God’s Word will either harden or soften the heart, depending on how it is received.  To those who are perishing, the message of the Cross is foolishness.  It is rudimentary to those who believe there is more to Biblical Christianity than the preaching of the Cross of Jesus Christ.

However, to those who are saved, the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is the power of God…the keeping power.  The power that takes us from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18), here a little and there a little.  Precept upon precept, line upon line the Word of God begins to affect our every day life and living for Christ.  Old things really do pass away and all things becomes new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

As we begin to work out our Salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12) we SEE the dominion of sin in our own lives broken by the power of God (Romans 6:14) as bondages begin to fall away.  The promises we hear about in the Word of God start to take effect.  We are set at liberty.  We are healed.  The power of sin in our own lives is broken by what Jesus Christ did on Calvary’s Cross 2000 years ago. We are free indeed!

Not only do we no longer want to sin but we realize we don’t have to sin.  We don’t have to believe every lie of the devil.  We don’t have to lie, steal, cheat or manipulate a “blessing” because our Lord is alive and He is sitting at the Right Hand of God the Father searching to and fro for a heart that is perfect toward Him to show Himself strong (2 Chronicles 16:9).  As Children, we begin looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and His Word (in context and rightly divided) is effective in our hearts and lives. We become a new creature in Jesus Christ.

For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  Hebrews 4:12

Sometimes the Word of God is an offense to our thoughts and intents of our heart. Recognize the way we receive His Word.  Don’t reject it because it offends.  Discern the offense and choose accordingly.  If you believe the message of the Cross is foolishness for a “mature” Christian, make no mistake –  you are perishing.

Flattering Lips

discernmentHe that rebukes a man afterwards shall find more favor than he that flatters with the tongue.”  Proverbs 28:23

Flattery is a method in which the flatterer makes their impression.  It is not for the good of the one receiving the flattering but for the one giving the flatter.  Flattery is a type of “currency”, if you will, in which the one flattering, not the one receiving the flatter but giving the flatter, is benefited.  They make the impression they were aiming to make.

However, they that rebuke shall find more favor because the rebuke is for the benefit of the one being rebuked.  An “Open rebuke is better than secret love.” (Proverbs 27:5)

23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

24 He that says unto the wicked, You are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.” Proverbs 24:23-25

Recognize who receives the benefit when one flatters and one rebukes.

-Donna Clark Warren

Respect of Persons

Righteous judgmentMy brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

And you have respect to him that wears the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit you here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand you there, or sit here under my footstool:

Are you not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?” James 2:1-4.

One who esteems one above another based on appearance is at the same time being bought by the appearance they prefer.  We must recognize what is vying for our affections and judge righteously according to the Word of God, not according to appearance.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”  John 7:24.

You will know them (false teachers) by their fruit and not their appearance. Every good tree brings forth good fruit but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. (Matthew 7:16-20).

Judge righteously.  Don’t be bought by the appearance of others.  The devil himself comes as an angel of light but he is still the devil.

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

Consider how your affection has been purchased.  Was it according to righteous judgment or political correctness?  One is of the world and the other of God. Prayerfully consider.

Unfeigned Faith

Vain janglingNeither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than Godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

11 According to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”  1 Timothy 1:4-11

According to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, laws are made for the lawless…not for the Righteous.  Why then do the religious place laws?  Why do they partake in legalism? Quite simply, because they are preaching another gospel.

The religion (moral law) of the world is political correctness.  If we, as Believers, do not partake in the world’s religion of political correctness, we are lawless and considered transgressors.

Most of the theology in the modern church has conformed to the world’s religion of political correctness and their moral law, instead of the Word of God and HIS moral law. The messages of forgiveness without repentance and an unconditional love that condones sinful ways are nothing more than “vain janglings” that produce feigned (pretend) faith.  The witchcraft and incantations to overthrow sin minister confusion rather than Godly edification.

Instead of “Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2), we look to the law, any law, and become a transgressor.

Jesus Christ IS alive.  Our Lord IS sitting at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.  His Eyes ARE searching to and fro to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him (2 Chronicles 16:9).

The Holy Spirit is not commissioned to free us (Believers) from the law of sin and death when our faith is in a gospel that is filtered through the moral standards of political correctness.  He is commissioned to set at liberty those whose faith is placed in Jesus Christ.  Faith in the Jesus Who came to die on Calvary’s Cross to BREAK the bondages of what the world (and many in the church) have deemed moral but God has declared an abomination.  Not faith in a Jesus who winks at sin but faith in the Jesus Who now sits at the Right Hand of God, who searches to and fro to show Himself strong… to author and to finish an unfeigned faith – a faith that is solely and exclusively in Him to free us from the law of sin and death.

Fight – fight the good fight of faith.  Faith is Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Seek and Ye Shall Find

SeekMe

But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Things a Believer does not have to do in order to seek the Kingdom of God:

  1. Seek a Purpose Driven Life for 40 days.  Every day is a day unto the Lord.  The Scripture says “This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ” Psalms 118:24.  This isn’t for 40 days…this is every day.
  2. Understand a “Grace Revolution” which dismisses and ignores the conviction of the Holy Spirit of sin and calls it condemnation from satan…extremely dangerous territory.
  3. Looking for Harbingers.  Jesus admonished the nobleman in Galilee saying “Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”  John 4:48.   The Word of God directly addresses the Jews who constantly seeks signs. “For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:” 1 Corinthians 1:22  Yet many continue to follow the “Messianic Jew” who authored the book Harbingers.
  4. Shemitahs – the shemitah was a law given by God to Israel which gave the land rest every seventh year (Deuteronomy 15:1-5).  After years of not observing this rest and turning from the ways of God, Israel went into captivity for 70 years.  For 70 years Israel lay desolate as the Israelites were held in Babylonian captivity (Jeremiah 29:10-14).  We, as New Testament Believers, do not partake in “Shemitahs”…or any other Jewish feasts and festivals.  Our rest is in the finished work of Jesus Christ…everyday.  ” Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the Word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” Hebrews 4:1-2.
  5. Blood Moons – I was admonished once by an elder in the church I attended because I began listening to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.  This elder referred Bro. Swaggart as a “Bible pusher” because of the monthly Biblethon which raises money to send Bibles all over the world.  At the same time this church was preaching and teaching on the book the Blood Moons every Sunday night.
  6. Extra Biblical revelations – Extra Biblical revelations are often given not to contradict but to “supplement” the Word of God.  Make no doubt, most if not all of these “prophetic” supplements come from the vanities of their own mind and have nothing whatsoever to do with “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God…

So how does a Believer “…Seek ye first the Kingdom of Godand His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  Matthew 6:33.

  1. Read the Word of God. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”  2 Timothy 3:1-17.
  2. Test the spirits. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1
  3. Search the Scriptures. “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11.
  4. Study to show thyself approved. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15.
  5. Lastly but certainly not least, understand that what you are reading in the Word of God, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, points to Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done on Calvary’s Cross for whosoever will believe.  “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”  John 1:14.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.”  Matthew 7:7-8.

Here Am I

hereamIAnd Samuel told him (Eli) every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the Lord: let Him do what seems Him good.” 1 Samuel 3:18

The Lord sent Samuel to warn Eli of the judgment that would come to Eli’s house for the iniquity which he knew.  Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were priests who had made themselves vile and Eli did nothing to restrain or correct them.  These sons of Eli would take illegal portions of the sacrifices the Israelites brought to them for a sacrifice unto the Lord.  These evil priests caused the Israelites to loathe bringing their required sacrifices unto the Lord (1 Samuel 2:12-17).

Eli was warned by God and what was his reply?   “…It is the Lord: let Him do what seems Him good.” (1 Samuel 3:18)

And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and pitched beside Ebenezer: and the Philistines pitched in Aphek.

And the Philistines put themselves in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before the Philistines: and they slew of the army in the field about four thousand men.

And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore has the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it comes among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.”  1 Samuel 4:1-3.

As Israel went out to battle against the Philistines, they were smitten and lost about 4000 men.  Instead of repenting before the Lord, they retrieved the Ark of the Covenant from the Holy of Holies and brought it to the camp that it may save them from the hand of their enemies.  There was no repentance of the Israelites.  They did not inquire of the Lord nor did the Lord instruct them to bring the Ark of the Covenant to the battle field.

Please understand this, the Israelites brought the symbol of God to battle…they did NOT bring God.  They were using the Ark of the Covenant as a magic symbol before the Philistines.  Many today attempt to us the name of Jesus as a magic symbol in a battle that the Lord did not send them to fight.

16 And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son?

17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there has been also a great slaughter among the people, and your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the Ark of God is taken.

18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the Ark of God, that he (Eli) fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.” 1 Samuel 4:16-18.

The Lord sent His prophet Samuel to warn Eli but Eli would not hear.

Also I (Isaiah) heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

And He said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.”  Isaiah 6:8-10

Often the Lord will send His messengers to “go and tell” yet the effect of their message hardens the heart of the people and they do not believe.  Their ears become heavy and their eyes shut; they understand not.

Nonetheless…Here am I oh Lord.  Here am I.  Send me.
