GROW IN GRACE

“14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is Salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you;

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18 But grow in Grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:14-18

The long-suffering of our Lord is Salvation for whosoever will believe. His finished work on Calvary’s Cross is not foolishness but is the power of God. For the believing sinner, Jesus Christ paid the penalty of sin at Calvary. For the Saint, He broke the power of sin. The Blood of Christ did not loose it’s power once we were Born Again that we must resort to the foolishness of man to overcome the sin which so easily besets us. No, not at all.

It is our faith that has failed us…our faith in Jesus as the Source and His Cross as the means. Not fighting the good fight of faith, the ONLY fight the Believer has been commissioned to fight, we have been swept away with diverse doctrines.

Not understanding those things which are hard, many with itchy ears have heaped unto themselves false teachers and preachers who have twisted the Word of God to their own destruction. Sadly, they have been led away with the error of the wicked from their own steadfastness (vs. 16-17).

“28 Come unto Me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For My Yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Grow in Grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ; in WHO He is and WHAT He has done and you will find rest unto your weary souls. As the church buildings close across our nation and across our world, both the righteous and the unrighteous, the Bread of Life is still ours for the taking. He wants to come in and sup with you and you with Him.

“1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.” Psalms 46:1-4

The River is still flowing. His Yoke is still easy. Learn of Him. Grow in the Grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Be diligent that you may be found in Him without spot or wrinkle…be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE

The Lord demands that our faith be placed unequivocally in the Cross of Christ in order for the Holy Spirit to operate on His behalf in our lives. Satan minds not if every channel on our television set preaches another gospel and another Jesus. All of these things which sound good to the carnal mind and tickles the carnal ear are aided and abetted by satan in order to deceive. Truth will actually be preached in order to bring in the lie and have others believe. Deceive is what the devil does and if we don’t think we can be deceived…well, we’re deceived. I’m sure Eve didn’t think she could be deceived either.

“For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death.” Romans 8:2

With our faith placed solely and exclusively in Jesus Christ and Him crucified; in Who HE is and what HE did at Calvary to pay the penalty of sin (death) for the believing sinner AND break the power of sin for the Saint; the Holy Spirit has the latitude to do a mighty work in our hearts. All of the promises of God are yes and amen according to His Will as we submit ourselves daily unto God and abide in His Way.

God’s Way for man to be Saved is the Cross of Christ.

God’s Way for man to be Sanctified is the Cross of Christ.

Look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith, and see the Salvation of the Lord; see His glorious light. There IS life and life more abundantly but it is only found when our faith is placed in Jesus Christ and Him crucified for daily living for God and not just for Salvation. Salvation is a wonderful thing. It is the greatest miracle the Lord has ever performed for whosoever will believe. Being Born Again by the Spirit of God affords us all of the promises of God…but these promises are conditional; they are conditional on our faith being placed in the finished work of Christ Jesus – be determined to know nothing else among you.

HAPPY IS THE MAN

“13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding.

14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things you can desire are not to be compared unto her.

16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor.

17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retains her.” Proverbs 3:13-18

Knowledge of the Word of God is more precious than silver and gold. Not an intellectual knowledge but an understanding. There is no graduating class this side of glory. No one knows nor understands everything about the Word. The Word of God is alive and is therefore ever evolving but it NEVER changes. The understanding of the Word of God comes from revelation knowledge given by the Holy Spirit and will always point to the Cross of Christ for the answer.

All that we need is afforded us through the finished work of Christ Jesus. Every answer to man’s dilemma is found in Calvary’s Cross. Faith placed exclusively in His finished work gives the Holy Spirit latitude to perform miracles in our lives. These miracles will follow those who believe.

This understanding of the Word of God is available to whosever will believe. The Expositor’s Study Bible by Jimmy Swaggart has been such a blessing to me. The Lord is using Bro. Swaggart in a mighty way in these last of the last days to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified back to the dying church and a lost world.

Please allow me to be blunt but clear. If the preaching of the Cross of Christ for daily living is foolishness to you, you are perishing. This is not because I said so but the Word of God says so:

“For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are Saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

The days of playing church are coming to an quick end. The only thing sharper than the two edged sword of false religion is the Word of God. The wheat and the tares are being divided. The Word of God is dividing asunder the thoughts and the intents of the heart. It is high time for those who don’t understand that they don’t understand to come out from among the religious and seek ye first the Kingdom of God. There is length of days in the knowledge of the Word of God. The very thing that so many spend the majority of their days seeking, namely gold and silver, is found in the Word of God.

“But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Seek Him while He may be found. Wisdom of the Word of God is the Tree of Life to those who lay hold upon her. Jesus Christ and Him crucified…be determined to know nothing else among you.

REJOICE IN THE LORD

“3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant Mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in Heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto Salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

8 Whom having not seen, you love; in Whom, though now you see Him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the Salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:3-9

Joy and happiness are not the same. Happiness is external. It is affected by external circumstances. The world experiences happiness.

Actually, on a side note, the “happiness” witnessed at the secular music concerts is the same “happiness” felt at the modern “Christian” concerts. Just as in days of old, many profess Christianity but their hearts are far from God.

Joy however is internal. It is a Fruit of the Spirit that the world cannot possess. There is no law that can produce joy. It is unspeakable. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to superintend the work of God in our heart and lives but we only give Him the latitude to do so when our faith is placed solely and exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The Holy Spirit will never point to Himself but always to Who Jesus is and what HE has done for whosoever will believe. He (the Holy Spirit) will reveal to the Born Again Believer Jesus Christ and it is upon that revelation that the Church is built.

“15 He (Jesus) said unto them, But whom say you that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but My Father which is in Heaven.

18 And I say also unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock (the revelation of Who Jesus is) I will build My Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:15-18

As the Holy Spirit witnesses to our spirit that we are a Child of God, we rejoice with joy unspeakable. The trials and tribulations of our faith are found unto praise and honor even though we see Him not in the present moment, yet we know in Whom we have believed and He is faithful and true to work all things for our good according to His Will and His Ways and not our own. We are sold out; bought with a price. We can’t help but rejoice with a joy unspeakable no matter the circumstances. The trial that we’re going through will bring us closer to the Lord and is not meant for our harm. His Arm is not shortened. His strength is manifest in our weakness…not our willpower.

The Lord is near. Rejoice.

TRUST IN THE LORD

The Sacrificial, Atoning Work of Christ Jesus is the foundation of the Gospel. It is Who HE is (the only begotten Son of God; God manifest in the flesh) and what HE did (paid the penalty of sin for the believing sinner and break the power of sin for the Saint) that sets the captives free. The power of sin is laid waste under the power of the Cross of Christ.
As glorious as the Resurrection of our Lord is, it is not where sin’s penalty nor power was paid. Knowing Who Jesus is and what He has done, there is no question to His Resurrection. Jesus Christ is alive today. He is sitting at the Right Hand of the Throne of God. His eyes search the earth to and fro for those whose hearts are perfect toward Him.
The devil, being the devil, corrupts this message and deceives God’s people. The purpose of this deceit is to move one’s faith from the Cross of Christ and to another object. This “new” object of our faith seems good. It is cloaked in Scripture and declared from the pulpits but it’s object is “self” and it’s means is “will”. We are often zealous of the things of the Lord but do not know the way…we do not know it is the same faith in the Sacrificial, Atoning Work of Christ that Saves us also will keep us; keeps us in His Will and in His Ways as the Holy Spirit superintends the work of God in our hearts. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to expel that which is not of God. It is the Holy Spirit alone Who has the power to isolate our sin nature which allows us to live for God. Without our sin nature isolated, fallen man is unable to live for God…no matter our will power or abilities. With our sin nature isolated, we still have to choose to live for God. Our path’s are directed and righteously divided by the Lord and we choose which way to go.
If it’s not the Cross of Christ Jesus being preached from the pulpit for Salvation and daily living for God, it is another Gospel. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is for the sinner and the Saint. It continues to draw the lost and the found to Holiness and Righteousness.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God. Be determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
“5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
-Donna Clark Warren

FALSE PREACHERS AND TEACHERS

The Lord will allow false teachers and false preachers to succeed for a while in order to test His people. This testing is for our benefit, not His and will reveal to us our own heart. We are the fruit of the ministry we sit under and it is by their fruit that we will recognize false preachers and teachers.

“15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” Matthew 7:15-16

Sadly, most modern Christians so little know their Bibles that they do not recognize what is right and what is wrong and in turn zealously support the work of the devil while along thinking they are supporting the work of God. Quite frankly, if God’s people would stop supporting these false preachers and false teachers they would simply die off. Instead, they continue tickling ears and appealing to the lusts of the flesh while cloaking their vain philosophies is Scripture deceiving those who choose to remain ignorant.

“13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

If we don’t think we can be deceived, quite frankly we are deceived. The Word of God is full of warnings of false teachers and preachers. Any gospel other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified is a false gospel. It is accursed. The gospel taught behind so many pulpits today are nothing less than motivational speeches cloaked in Scripture. They point to self will and ability to gain Christlikeness and it is a lie straight from the pits of hell.

It is the work of the Holy Spirit to produce in us fruit unto God. It is HIS ministry that superintends the work of God in our hearts and lives and He will only attend to His ministry when our faith is placed solely and exclusively in the Cross of Christ for all the we need for life and living.

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11

Study the Word. We must ALL study to show ourselves approved. If we don’t know the Bible for ourselves, we will not recognize error when it comes riding in on the coat tails of the Truth. The Truth will expel a lie but a lie will corrupt the Truth if allowed to remain. We have a straight stick in which to measure. We have the plumb line…use it.

BORN AGAIN

“Knowing” the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified does not constitute Salvation. There are many here in the United States who believe that just because they know the Gospel that they are Saved. I was one of those people…I know what I’m talking about here. If you asked me if I was a Christian I would assure you that yes I was but I was a Christian in ‘name’ only. I waved the banner but had no fruit.

“5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto you, You must be Born Again.” John 3:5-7

To enter into the Kingdom of God one must be born of water which constitutes natural child birth, not water baptism is many wrong teach and believe, and one must be born of the Spirit.

Until we ACCEPT Jesus Christ and Him crucified as the ONLY Way unto God and not just merely have knowledge of the Gospel, we will not see the Kingdom of God. We MUST be Born Again of the Holy Spirit; spiritually alive unto God by Grace through faith in the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ. It is Who HE is and what HE has done that saves the eternal soul of whosoever will believe from a devil’s hell.

Many who claim Christianity need to examine themselves. Are they a new creature in Christ Jesus? Is there fruit unto God?

You will know them by their fruit. There is a change in their heart. No longer bound to sin, they (we) are indeed a new creature in Christ Jesus.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2 Corinthians 13:5

Examine the fruit.

NEVERTHELESS – GO AND TELL

“3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common Salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the Grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though you once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.” Jude 1:3-5

There are many today who the Lord has saved out of the land of Egypt but they believe not. They do not believe in the Cross of Christ Jesus for dominion over sin. They believe for Salvation and praise the Lord for such but they do not believe unto Sanctification.

Why? Because there was no one who contended for the faith. There was no watchmen on the wall who recognized the enemy coming to steal, kill and destroy the Saints faith. Instead there were ungodly men; men who turned the Grace of God into a license to sin and denied the power of the Cross of Christ to break the power of sin and set out in their own ways; their own vain philosophies cloaked in Scripture for the victory that they seek.

“10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the Truth, that they might be Saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

Because they did not receive the love of the Truth and had pleasure in unrighteousness, these who were saved out of the land of Egypt but believed not will be and have been sent a strong delusion that they shall believe a lie.

This is the Endtime Apostate Church spoke about in Revelation. The Laodiceans who are in need of nothing. The harvest is great but so is the falling away…the falling away of those who were saved out of the land of Egypt but did not receive the love of the Truth. The delusion is in the church house. Commandments of man are being taught as Biblical doctrine as the laity follow along blindly.

Sadly, the ditch is straight ahead. Many have fallen away. Nevertheless…Lord, here am I.

“8 Also I heard the Voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And He said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.” Isaiah 6:8-10

Go and tell. Go and tell them that the answer in which they seek is found in the Cross of Christ. He has made the way if we will just believe upon His Name and not merely use His Name as a magical trinket. WHO HE is and WHAT HE has done for whosoever will believe is the power of God unto us who have been saved out of the land of Egypt.

Jesus Christ and Him crucified…be determined to know nothing else among you.

CONSCIOUS & ETERNAL

“22 And it came to pass, that the beggar (Lazarus) died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from here to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from there.

27 Then he said, I pray you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” Luke 16:22-31

Our eternity is a conscious eternity. The rich man is still in hell begging for water because he is tormented in that flame. Whether his brothers joined him, we do not know. Whether or not his brothers listened to the prophets, we are not told. Once the gates of hell close behind a lost soul, there are no 2nd chances.

We never know the day nor the hour the Lord is going to demand of us our soul. We will all given an account for how we handled the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Did we hear and believe? Did we accept Jesus as Lord?

Perhaps because we had the intellectual knowledge of the Gospel, we thought we were Saved. Not necessarily.

Maybe we actually recited a prayer. Are we Saved? Not necessarily.

Were we “confirmed” by a denomination at a certain age? Are we Saved? Nope, not necessarily.

Were we Saved at an early age and have since turned away from the Lord? Are we no longer following in His precepts and seeking His Ways? Are we Saved? No, not necessarily.

What must we do to be Saved?

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be Born Again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:5-7

What must I do to be Born Again?

“5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be Born Again.” John 3:5-7

Hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified does not constitute Salvation (being Born Again) but by accepting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, we give the Holy Spirit latitude to come live inside our heart and we are in an instant “Born Again”; we are born of the Spirit and made spiritually alive unto Christ Jesus. This revelation of the Lord is what the Church is built upon. HE is our cornerstone because of HIS Sacrifice on Calvary’s Cross. It is Jesus Christ who paid the penalty for fallen man’s sin and it is Jesus Chris who broke the power of sin.

All of this is made possible by what Jesus Christ did on Calvary’s Cross. At our Born Again experience we are buried with Him, baptized into HIS Death…there where the penalty of sin was paid and the power of sin broken and we are raised up a new creature in Christ Jesus; a new creature who is now spiritually alive unto God because we have accepted His Way unto Salvation. To be sure, HIS Way is the ONLY Way that man can be Saved. To be sure, sadly there are many a man is a devil’s hell today who now know this fact. All who are in hell today still seek for someone to return from death and tell their loved ones the truth about God’s Way of Salvation but such cannot be. The Lord has given us His Word, His Holy Spirit and the 5 Fold ministry to declare His Way of Salvation, if we choose not to believe we will have a conscious eternity to replay every Salvation message we rejected.

God doesn’t send people to a devil’s hell. Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross to save us from eternal damnation. Today is the day of Salvation. Have you believed?

“16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be Saved.” John 3:16

REMEMBER THE WAY

“1 All the Commandments which I command you this day shall you observe to do, that you may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers.

2 And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His Commandments, or no.

3 And He humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that He might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every Word that proceeds out of the Mouth of the Lord does man live.” Deuteronomy 8: 1-3

The commandments given to the New Covenant Believer are written on our hearts. It is the circumcision without hands. Old things pass away and all things become new. Such things cannot be understood by the unredeemed.

“11 In Whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead.” Colossians 2:11-12

This circumcision without hands is the ministry of the Holy Spirit as we are buried with Christ in the Baptism of His Death and risen with Him in the likeness of His Resurrection through the faith in of the operation of God. To be sure, this operation of God is the Cross of Christ; it IS the power of God to us who are Saved (1 Cor. 1:18).

If we will observe the commandments written on our heart by simple faith in the ability of the Cross of Christ Jesus to pay the penalty of sin for the believing sinner and break the power of sin for the Saint so that He may lead us through this pilgrim land; humble our hearts so that we may know what was in our heart, He WILL suffer us not to hunger for His Word and feed us with the revelation knowledge of Who He is and what He has done so that we may know that we know that we know that we do not and cannot live by bread alone but by every word which proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. We plant, we water and He gives the increase.

Keep seeking. Keep knocking. The Lord has gone before you and made a way. The unpleasant circumstances, the stumbling, He will work out for your good as long as our faith is anchored in the Cross of Christ Jesus to meet that need. It is not about us but about Him. It is in our weakness that His strength revealed…not our intellectual manipulations or great and mighty professions.

“But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

There is a move of God coming; a move that will sweep many into the Kingdom of God. As the darkness of this fallen world hovers; the Light of His Glory is going to shine as the Cross of Christ is lifted up to His People to look and live; to return to their First Love.

Much of the harvest is sitting in the pews every Sunday. There is a line being drawn in the sand. The same Hand that wrote in the sand as the accusers accused the adulteress woman; the same hand that wrote on the wall as evil Belshazzar feasted with the Temple’s stolen vessels of gold and silver is the same Hand that wants to circumcise the heart of His People…to remove those things which are not of Him.

Follow His Commandments. Believe on the Cross of Christ for everything you need for life and living. Be determined to know nothing else among you. Look and live.
