“6 I marvel that you are so soon removed from Him that called you into the Grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that you have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:6-10
Jesus Christ and Him crucified, as should be obvious, cannot be corrupted. The finished work of Christ Jesus paid the penalty of sin for the believing sinner and broke the power of sin for the Saint. At Calvary, Jesus delivered the Believer from sin’s dominion. This is a fact, a reality, which cannot be changed…whether we believe it or not.
However, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified CAN be corrupted. It can be diluted, sugar coated. Not rightly dividing the Word and not presenting the full counsel is the devil’s intent. Satan cannot change the truth; the reality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, so he will and CAN corrupt the Gospel. With one small compromise, he will deceitfully present something that seems “good”, the seed is planted and as the Believer earnestly seeks to please the Lord, he will nurture that seed until it becomes fruit unto death. Bound by man made traditions, religious schemes and vain philosophies presented as Biblical doctrine, the Believer has now believed upon another gospel, another Jesus and the Cross of Christ has become of no effect in their lives.
The “life and life more abundantly” promised to them is fleeting as the yoke of religion chokes the life out of them…literally. They are accursed. Do they love the Lord? Absolutely!! Do they understand why there is no peace beyond all understanding or joy unspeakable when the storms of life are roaring? Sadly, no. They continue fighting these storms with perseverance but their perseverance is in the wrong fight. It’s in their abilities, intellect and talent.
Instead of fighting the good fight of faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified, they are fighting for their very life…a life that they should surrender to Christ in order for the Holy Spirit to superintend the work of God in the life they are fighting to gain.
“But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;” 1 Corinthians 1:23
This Gospel of which a God called preacher is called to preach will set at liberty those who are bound by religion because it lays waste their vain philosophies. Chains are broken, blind men see, lame men walk…signs and miracles FOLLOW those who believe and we become a witness to the world of God’s Glory. We don’t have to chase down every blood moon, shemitah or seek 40 days of purpose because we have our hand in the Hand of the Man Who stills the waters.
Knowing this; knowing in WHOM we have believed and what HE has done to Redeem us into Him, we will KNOW that there is no other gospel. THIS is why we are determined to know nothing else among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. It is not because we have some kind of intellectual self righteousness. No, no. IT has nothing to do with “us” whatsoever but EVERYTHING to do with HIM.
“28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 Come, see a Man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” John 4:28-29
Just as the WOMAN SAID UNTO THE MEN (sorry to all of you who don’t believe women should be preachers), we have left our waterspout declaring “IS NOT THIS THE CHRIST?”
Come…come see a Man. His Name is Jesus Christ.
