“I am the Lord your God, Who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.” Leviticus 26:13
It was the Sacrifice of the slain Lamb which afforded the Israelites deliverance from Egyptian bondage. If not for the blood of the Pascal Lamb, who took the fatal blow, applied to the doorpost, the household would have been utterly destroyed. The household being saved had nothing to do with the worthiness or the works of the family within but with the blood and the blood alone that was applied to the door post.
The Israelites did not go behind those door posts and vainly attempt to keep the door shut. No, no. They weren’t attempting in their own might, demanding water baptisms and church memberships before entering into those doors. They were submitted to the sufficiency of the slain Lamb for their protection.
“The next day John sees Jesus coming unto him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29
Jesus Christ came to die on Calvary’s Cross to afford whosoever will believe deliverance from bondage…and I speak here to Believers. Being Born Again, we are covered by the Blood of the Lamb, the Sacrificial Lamb of God. It is not us that the Lord sees but the Blood of Christ. We are not just in a savable state but we are SAVED. Our deliverance has been afforded by Jesus Christ. We are Redeemed.
“The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
The devil will have the Believer working many dead works under the Blood of Christ as he (satan) works to kill, steal and destroy our faith. He would have had the Israelites working tirelessly behind those doorposts if they would have believed him and any victory that would have been met would have been shared with their efforts. Many mistake the blessings of God as condoning their error but such is not true. The Lord blessed the Israelites for 40 years in the wilderness but all but a few were ultimately destroyed.
It is faith in the sufficiency of the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ and Him crucified, and faith alone to which God responds to fallen man. Do not allow the devil to kill, steal and destroy that faith. Make no mistake, it is that faith (faith in the Cross of Christ alone), which satan tries to corrupt. This is the fight we fight…the good fight of faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Be determined to know nothing else among you.
