“27 And when the ass saw the Angel of the Lord, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.
28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto you, that you have smitten me these three times?
29 And Balaam said unto the ass, Because you have mocked me: I would there were a sword in my hand, for now would I kill you.
30 And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I your ass, upon which you have ridden ever since I was yours unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto you? and he said, No.
31 Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
32 And the Angel of the Lord said unto him, Wherefore have you smitten your ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand you, because your way is perverse before me:
33 And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain you, and saved her alive.” Numbers 22:27-33
Discern the donkey that’s stands in the way. Too often the very donkey we’re trying to smote, is the instrument the Lord is using to keep you from a perverse way; a wrong way…a way that is not of Him.
Follow peace beyond all understanding; the peace that is from the Lord and Him alone. At Calvary, Jesus paid a high price for your soul. Follow His Voice and no other. When He is silent, we have His Word as our guide. When we don’t know the answer, we stand…stand still and wait on HIS perfect timing. God’s timing is just as important as His Will.
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10
Don’t smoke the donkey, discern the donkey.
